I actually am someone who cuts my own hair. I was always dissatisfied with the work done at salons I went to so I decided to just do it myself. I ended up liking it better than the work done at salons so I kept at it and I use these videos to improve.
I’ve seen maybe 10 of this guys videos. You guys comment this under every single one without exception. I know you dumbasses race to be the first one to comment it everytime he uploads LMAO
I cut my own hair from front, top and sides by learning from your videos, i only goes to barber to cut hair from back side. i have to cut my own hair because barbers in my city just cut hair short and don't know how to make layers, i wish i live near you and you are my stylist.
I want to start by thanking you for all the time and effort that you put into your videos, also how well you explain every step. I do cut my own hair and I think I do a very good job. At first it was kind of difficult but the more you do it the easier it gets. Thank you again and may you and your loved ones have a blessing and warm New Years.
12:00 I gave myself clippered cuts (fade with pompadour) for 11 years, but now I've gone to a salon to get a medium length layered cut. Your videos are really great for understanding how to ask my stylist for the style that I want.
I can cut my own hair because you taught me how. What I do is I take an easel and put a mirror on it, and then I can move and adjust it to see what I'm doing. My hair looks very similar to this hair cut actually and everyone tells me my hair is amazing so thank you.
I cut my own hair since I'm not able to afford to go to a stylist yet (I just got a job tho so I'll be able to soon) and I used this tutorial and it came out the same ❤️
Since the pandemic, I cut my, my wife, and my older son's hair. I wouldn't have attempted without watching many of your videos. Thank you for sharing your expertise and your experience.
I LOVE your giggle! I cut my Husbands hair because no one makes his hair look right. THANK YOU!!!! For teaching me what I did know and what I need to know. Major BIG hugs!
P.S. This is the education I was looking for. The style he was looking for. I have been cutting Hubby's mane for a long time (30 yrs). Your THE BEST!!!!!!!! Major BIG Hugs! P.S.S.S How can I show you pictures????
@@jackiegalvan4340 it looked okay, for my first time! i played and paused the video while cutting lol. he wanted to leave his hair a little longer than that so it wasn't much work.
That's why I'm here too. Cutting my boomer dad's hair, so fades are a nope. 😂 He grew up in the 50's. Looking for something longer and polished that he can comb over, and that is age appropriate.
I watched this video yesterday before work, then my last customer of the day happened to want this same exact haircut! What are the odds? I memorized and applied these steps, and he loved it! Thank you very much for your teachings and demonstrations! Keep them coming!
Here during lockdown because my son looks like teen wolf and I can’t take it any longer. Thanks for sharing this tutorial, I love this hair style on guys. 🙏♥️
I've cut my own hair since I was 15. I'm 20 now and I haven't watched or read anything about hair till a few months ago. My hair is generally long (80s speed metal style) and I've gotten compliments on how it flowed when I was 17. I cut it short at 19, but it's long again and I'm studying hairstyling to make sure I don't damage myself
i've been cutting my own hair for three years, watched your videos a lot in the beginning, then just did the same thing the whole time and now i'm back because i want another cut lol
Salon Guy, Excellent tutorial. I am going to try on my husband right now. One thing about this haircut that you should point out is that this cut leave the hair at the crown long so that someone like my husband does not get a cowlick like he always does from the salon o matter how many times he asks them to be weary of his. 🙂
I like to cut my own hair, particularly because it's hard for me to show my idea to hairstylists also it's pretty fun. Your videos helped out so much! It definitely is difficult cutting your own hair i had my mom help with the back 😂
I liked your response on a previous video"its like when you build a house you start from the bottom up and not the other way around" referring to haircutting, is it possible to cut hair using a trimmer only? I'm not a complete beginner but have some knowledge and am picking up more by watching your videos and please upload more on layering and short over the ear box hair cuts for men.
ive been trying to find tutorials to cut a cosplay wig for hours and everythings either too vague or meant for long hair. This vid had literally been a life saver thank you!!
Awesome!!! I'm trying to learn how to cut my pre-teen grandsons hair. This video is EXCELLENT!!! Much needed during pandemic. Thank you, thank, thank you!!
I am not a professional; I have been cutting my sons' hair (approximately 20 years lol), this is one of my favorite cuts, it looks so good on my younger son, tysm for teaching it to me, I watch this and your video or Rutgers Eric (they have similar hair texture)...even though I'm a Temple U gal!
You are awesome! I am using your technique for layering my extensions and lace front wigs before I put them on. The stylist I go to know nothing about layering. THANK YOU!
Since March my husband hasn't been able to go to the hairdresser and this video helped us a lot! It obviously doesn't look exactly the same but I was able to give him a decent haircut because of this tutorial. Thanks! You're awesome!
I'm an engineer with long hair (lower back as you know I guess) so I fully understand the foundation holding the full house.. I just adore the way you approach in speech.. This is why I watch.. Loved the "non coming back manequin" hahaha...thanks
Great tutorial! I haven’t had a haircut since last August because of lockdown and I finally managed to convince my mum to cut mine herself... It came out perfect! :)
First video I watched to try to layer the back of my husband’s hair. Very educational. I think I might be able to this. I am gonna watch more of your videos to help me learn some of it. Hell if I mess up we can shave his hair and start over when it grows out.
I am from Pakistan and its my heartedly wish that i could get a haircut from you I am growing my hair out like i wanna grow front sides and back equally and get them into layers but i am so much confuse because right now i am at the same length like the mannequin but after watching that video i get to know what shoul i do with my hairs for that because my hair are already looking like a mullet which i extremely hate. Now i have to struggle to find a good barber Because growing hairs is too difficult time consuming and it needs alot alot patience specially for a person like me who is dealing with Extreme anger issues Again Thankyou so much for such a helpful video ❤❤
First of all, thank you for such an informative video. You definitely have the talent of not only cutting hair perfectly, you are a gifted teacher as well. I am an elderly man who has cut many throughout the years, wife, kids and my own using the exact technique as you have just demonstrated. Long or short styles, always pulling the hair away from the head for layering (except for the neck), cutting the top all the same length so a part can be made anywhere or none at all. Will be watching your other videos when they are available.
I cut my hair myself and I also watch your videos, but, I am also a licensed professional. 😉 Love anything with a strong corner. This is the most common men’s cut I do in varying lengths on the sides.
Great job...very informative. Definitely a lot of techniques shared and learning for viewers. I've been cutting my own and my son's for many, many years now and I see quite a few tips that will make the process much easier, less time consuming and get me through those areas that just never seem to go right. Being left handed always throws me when trying to match each side...or maybe I'm a bit dyslexic. Definitely need to review and practice. But hey...I definitely can't compete with your level of experience and expertise. So I will take what I've learned...review for subtleties I missed and keep working at it. Thank you!
I do cut my own hair for the last 6 years.. just last years I started leaving the top long and have learned how to cut it and take some volume off. I will say I would have not been able to cut my hair if it were not for my 3 way mirror that my mother in law made for me. I got the idea form a bathroom near that has 3 cabinet doors that open to the side and helped me view the back threw the mirror across. Also when I was younger I did planned at the time to be a barber and got practice cutting hair from school friends. It is not easy, but has saved me money, time, and headaches from barbers that want to do 1 hair style on every one or over charge and still dont give me the hair style I asked. They dont even know much about cutting with shears and most hair stylist dont know about skin fades so I'd rather do both my self.
This is a great tutorial, it was like watching an artist at work. I'll be showing this to my hair stylist to ensure I get something closer to what I'm going for.
i actually watch your videos to get inspiration for my next haircut and ive been doing this for like 2 years now love your channel, just hope to see more haircuts on people because it gives me a more realistic of view of how it would look
Crazy to say this but i watched this video several times and even practiced on my dog lol. It actually came out good cause he has kind medium length hair. It saved me some money to take my dog to a groomer. Subbed!
Great video !!! Let me ask you if your hair is just like that but you want to have more coverage hiding the receding hairline also fuller hair on top when your hair is thin at top , how would cut it ???? Thank you !
I am a wanna be hairstylist....I went to school but did not finish...i have enough knowledge to be dangerous...LOL Love your videos and am living vicariously through you!! THANK YOU !!
I slowed the video to half speed because I was really impressed how quickly he flips the scissors and switches hands with the brush. It just so happened I watch in half speed from 14:36-15:18 where he’s talking about being quick and efficient to get the job done. I might be stoned myself but hearing his voice in half speed made it so hilarious 😂
Would love to see some videos on mid-long curly hair.. would love to hear your advice on cut/styling especially for someone who needs tighter sides for face shape! Thanks for sharing!
Its indeed hard to get yourself a medium lenght haircut like this, because of the layering in the back & stuff. I have been cutting my own hair for 6 years now and the most I can achieve is a Comb back with faded sides & back. (using a razor to get rid of the weight that builds up in the back) Appreciate your videos
Is this correct, first you cut the back diagonally 90 degrees across half the head and than go back and cut horizontally before moving to the other side?
I have been cutting my hair for past fifteen years. I Started in college with a crew cut and a goatee. And now muscle memory has just set in. And can do most cuts you show on myself or others. And I am not even a barber 😂💈🤘
I cut my hair miself since I was 15 .. 20 years ago. When I cut the backside I do without a mirror.. Is kind I know where is my hair and nobody can see any bad result. It's just practice
Hey Steven, that was a super short layer men's hair cut, during lockdown I m learning hair cutting tips from u, I am singer, guitarist, struggling actor who stays in India like to stay stylish, my hairs r thik I got a natural bounce in it, l want to style my hair like Tom Cruise, but I didn't come across any hairstylist over here. You have nice control on ur hands which make PPL look great, if I got change to come there I'll definitely like to cut my hair from you. God bless, Namaste 🙏
I have thick, straight, resistant hair. Currently around 3-3.5 inches all around. I rocked a Billy Idol style, 50s greaser style, but now my hair is too long for those. What styles can you recommend? Already at 6 months growth from a buzzcut, aiming for a year
Here in south Asia you need to travel to another city to find someone who understands even half of this so yeah gonna lure my younger brother with gifts or beat him up and make him learn hairstyling and make him watch this all 😂😂
I never know what to say to the stylists so I always show them pictures and it never works since my hair is sooooo thick and heavy so thanks for the video
Hi Stephen. I'd really like to see you demonstrate a haircut correction on a hair model with medium length wavy hair that has unintentional shelves, cowlicks and poor weight distribution in it. I have moderately wavy (not curly) hair and every salon I've been to cuts wet hair only, blow dries and shapes it with products so when I leave it has the illusion of a good haircut but when I wash it next day, let it air dry or blow dry it but don't put anything in it, WHAM, all the problems (shelving, cowlicks, uneven weighting) become obvious. I want to learn how to fix it myself until I find a place that knows what they're doing. It's a tough issue because when the stylist asks how short you want your hair, if I say "leave 3 inches", that really has zero meaning due to the tensions of the waves and asymmetry will always be a problem. Thanks a million! (I know its a big ask).
