Marcus, many thanks! 😊the infinity drill was a lightbulb moment for me on how the wrists and path work in harmony..well done! Cheers from Nova Scotia MikeR.
Thanks for getting me back to my natural wrist rotation , i have had frustrating time (2 years) with wrist flexion extenstion only for squaring the club face hoping to make a better contact. I use to think that the rotation of the shaft along the swing plane was cousing a glancing contact and I was wrong. One should always stick to their natural release and work on the mechanics and path to get a better contact, which has more to do with sequence. There is also flexion ext of wrists happening in the release however if i take the rotation out it becomes uncontrolable. Everything adds up to have a free universal movement.
Now this was very interesting, I most definitely associated closing the face with path having to go left also, never thought about rotating the shaft and still being able to stay in to out!!
So Marcus we swing the grip and the grip swings and influences the face path of the club and not other way round?? Thanks for your instructional videos. Michael.
One thing I struggle with when I'm not striking ball very well. Wrist little stiff. When wrist are more relaxed I play some really good golf. I get the feeling of relaxed and smooth and body will rotate perfectly and club stays on plane.
I notice your club face opening on the takeaway of infinity swing...a lot of teaching has the clubface pointing down on the backswing...I have had success opening clubface going back and closing (turning down) clubface during the transition, downswing and at the hit. Hoping for your thoughts on the subject?? Always appreciate the content. Cheers
I’ve seen a lot of talk lately about how the wrists move into flexion and extension to eliminate any club face rotation to keep the face square to the arc. Rotation of the face requires split second timing for consistent shots no?
When combined with body rotation and sequencing it's significantly reduced. Just depends how you move. This is just an exercise to explore and recognise your wrist function capability and experiment to see if it helps encourage more flow and clubface awareness. Some may use more, some less. There's no one way 👍
