How to Let Window Up/Down When Switch is Broken--Chevy Impala 

I'm a 70-year-old woman. Used this video to roll up the window on my Chevy Uplander van. The wiring was backwards from this for up and down, but it wasn't hard to figure that out. Thank you!

U can order a used switch online or get used one at junk yard used parts store too, positive video too helpful to show ppl how to fix door

I'm working on a 2005 Chevy Impala and my clip looks slightly different. That slot that you show to be empty is not empty on mine and I did it with 14 Guage wire which I believe was too big but it did not work

My 2001 Impalas driver side window will not roll up. It rolls down just fine. Does this quick fix require positive and negative wires? I see your using a black wire along with a white one.

Hello, thanks for the vid. Is it safe to assume that if the window is not moving up, then i perform this "test" would this pinpoint the problem to a faulty switch. Since were basically jumping the switch?

Got an '05. On the driver's side switches the plug has all 8 holes with metal. Any idea where to connect the wires on that configuration?

Would a bad power window fuse cause the window to roll down but not up and vice versa?

Also I see that you are on the passenger side, I am working on the driver's side

What type of wire did you use? I tried with a cell phone charger wire, should I use another type of wire?

I tried but could not raise the window. If the regulator is broken, can I still raise the window this way? Thank you

So I have a Impala 2002 it has 3 on top does it still work

My gfs is a 2005 impala. I took hers apart to see because driver side will roll down but not up. When i took the connector out to bypass it like you are hers looks just like that except hers is 4 on top and 4 on bottom. that bottom left one on yours looks empty. hers looks like the rest. can you assist. I wasnt getting anything.

Going to try the wire trick but trying to avoid having to replace the switch. Short on cash. Do you have a video on the drivers side front window as of yet?
