Hi, this 'How To' video shows you a nice simple easy tip for levelling WARDROBE doors, the same tip can be used for any furniture that has opening doors which are not level. Many thanks Vince
Legend, thank you.... I just spent 4 hours putting furniture up and wonky wardrobe doors would have destroyed the day. Bit of cardboard works as a temporary fix as well 👍👍
Great advice! I get called out to fix a lot of this type of stuff. When the wardrobe is freestanding, alot of the time your doors won't stay level and square and I do exactly the same thing as what you did! Fantastic video!
Brilliant Vince, I was doubtful this would work but just found an offcut of wood and my daughter can now open and close her wardrobe door. Thanks for the tip.
Interesting that you only need to lift the back left leg but not the front. I'll have to quander over that. Thanks for the video. I'm glad it was an easy fix!
I understand this happens because the frame gets twisted in some way so the front frame won't be a perfect rectangle anymore. I'm wondering how can we measure it to know how much of a twist it has. I discard looking at the doors because these can be adjusted wrong so can't be a reference.
Ahhh... Built a wardrobe the other day and spent some time adjusting the hinges. Being tired, I called it a day. The next morning I woke up appreciating the look of my new piece but resolute to fix it; I have used the spirit level and realised that the carpet portion near the wall is possibly slightly raised due to grafts. Now that I have found your video and should try the rear legs rather than the front temporary stepping wedges I was testing
but what about the gaps? i am facing same issue with my new wardrobe(right door is higher than left one) and there is almost less than half cm gap at top which i am not okay with. Any suggestion what to do?
just fold some paper, should work just fine. I have been doing that my entire life, because i didn't know that thingity thing with screws :D i dont even have them screws installed, no wonder doors are hitting into each other:D
Can anyone help, I have some wardrobes with these hinges. When I try and shut the door, the bottom left or right (whatever’s opposite to the hinge for the particular door) catches and I can’t shut the doors. I’ve tried messing with all the hinges and screws etc and I just can’t seem to get the right balance. It’s driving me insane
I don’t know if you’ve heard, but Hyezmar is giving his collection of woodworking plans on his website. If I'm not mistaken there’s an excellent alternative for this project!
