Want to go ride some cool terrain and don't know how to tie down your bike?
Follow along as I show you the techniques and tools to get you AND your bike to some sweet riding locations.
The technique used is derived from dirtbikes and motorcycles. It's quick, easy, and secure. Plus it'll work in any truck bed as long as the bed isn't too short. I use this technique in my Toyota Tundra even though it has a bed rack and rooftop tent and I go off-roading with the bike in the back with no issues.
Please let me know what you thought of the video and let me know if you'd like me to teach you other transportation methods for other vehicles.
Have a good one!
Here are some Protaper straps that'll work perfectly!

Thanks for the video man. I got my first truck about a year ago due to it being a great deal in a terrible car market (always driven cars in the past.) Figuring it'd be nice to have on occasion. But now I own a Kayak and will soon own a Sur Ron so the truck is coming in extremely handy. I'm sure I'll eventually get a strapless setup for the convenience. But this was a nice concise guide to get everything setup properly. It's also nice to see I won't need to bother with a ramp for the Sur Ron to get it into the bed.

@matthew mclaughlin Heyo Im a bigger guy who is gonna ride mostly street riding, what do u think about the talaria and the shocks? Do u ever bottom the forks? Im around 185 cm and 115kg ( Im a boxer ) ive just heard that the forks and shock spring are bad so i wanna hear your opinion on it?
@haveagoodoneyt
@haveagoodoneyt 2 года назад
Hey! So as you can tell I’m a big dude, and I have been extremely surprised at the performance of the suspension. I still haven’t bottomed out the fork, even after jumping it. The rear spring is definitely too soft when I’m sitting down, but when I stand up and shift my weight forward I feel very in control and it doesn’t feel too soft. Basically unless something cray happens I won’t be upgrading my suspension anytime soon.

Awesome video I am in the market for a taleria and I’m a bigger guy 260lbs what is the top speed the sting can get you at? I won’t be off roading it just street riding it.

Do you know of any good hitch carriers that are rated for that bike weight ?
@nate9626
@nate9626 11 месяцев назад
Dirt bike hitch racks work great, around the same price as regular bike ones, but can only hold 1 bike at a time
@haveagoodoneyt
@haveagoodoneyt 10 месяцев назад
A motorcycle specific Mitch carrier will work for sure. You can find them on Amazon or at most motorcycle dealerships. I’m probably going to be testing heavy duty MTB carriers though because they are lightweight and have some other nice features. But for sure the moto stuff will definitely work.

Greetings . Can it charge from the bed outlet while driving ?
@haveagoodoneyt
@haveagoodoneyt Год назад
Depends. The charger requires 600 watts to operate. So as long as your bed outlet produces over 600 watts it’s no problem. Otherwise it will not. I installed a direct-wire 800 watt inverter in my truck bed and that worked great for my two week overland trip to Colorado.

I just lay mine down in the truck - there is no gas or anything that is going to leak.

you can just lay that thing down flat in the back and tie it down, wont hurt it a bit its and E bike there is no engine gas or oil in it. I do it all the time.. never hurt or scratched a thing

Why don't you just turn the wheel of the bike 90 degrees and then you can put the tailgate up!
@flolou8496
@flolou8496 9 месяцев назад
? Hey guy's am I wrong in thinking the following way : Why not just lie the bike down on the opposite side of the battery but lay some cheap memory foam down first? (even a 30.00 twin mattress would do fine right?) by the way why advertise your nice toy to bad actors who might want to follow you as well,

I have a frontier so our beds are the same. You think I can fit 2 ebikes this way? I have a bed extender too.
@jasper_of_puppets
@jasper_of_puppets Год назад
Two full-size dirtbikes can fit in the bed of a 5ft bed with the tailgate down... no reason two ebikes can't fit.
@haveagoodoneyt
@haveagoodoneyt Год назад
Yea you can totally run two e-bikes in the bed side by side. The straps will sit slightly on top of the front tire of each bike because of the angle the straps will be at. (Hard to describe in text) But absolutely no worries. Just repeat the process for the second bike but instead of placing it in the middle move each bike to the sides of the bed.
