We decided not to park it anywhere but home. A mountain ride with kilo's extra on top of the already heavy Ebike spoils the fun.

I got the E-DX (110cm chain + DX shackle lock + Z LOK security tie) and a second Lock for my e mtb. I will carry the E-DX in a luggage carrier bag. I am happy

problem I have with this is, it cost just as much as my Ebike. about 60% - 70%, still better than sorry tho. x2 D-lock and a chain is an absolute must! a cheap alarm helps deter casual thieves too.

Im curious why you would use rhe D1000 to lock thr frame and tire and rhe chain around the object at thr location instead of the other way around?
@Tendertroll1

All those locks must be heavy to carry imo
@taxibeforesunsetclips7629

Not as heavy as the bill for a new bike. Depending on what you ride of course.

@@taxibeforesunsetclips7629But... they are REALLY heavy!...as, of course, are the bikes, anyway.

Assuming that's a 10mm chain, then that's going to be running around six pounds with the large padlock. Assuming the D-1000 weighs the same as the Krypto (yellow) New York U-lock, then that's four pounds. So ten full pounds for both. Don't you think that's a bit much to be hauling around in a pack? I use either the U-lock and a smaller chain lock, or a larger chain lock and a cable with padlock. In one case it's about 7.5 lbs. and in one case it's 6.5 lbs.

u can install a basket on the front / rear of your bike and carry it on there
@derekjolly3680
@derekjolly3680 6 месяцев назад
@@bingbong-yn6yg I get by with the pack for almost everything excepting packing the secondary chain on the frame coming back. I just find a space in the pack for the U-lock with the groceries. Works for me, even with the heavier chain and the smaller chain combined for around 8 and a half pounds.

A savvy thief would simply cut through the bike rack, take the bikes home and cut through the tough locks in pizza and quiet. ;-)

They sell chains and pad locks too I think. That will have to do even if not as grinder resistant. I f you can't fit one of the grinder resistant U or D locks out there, there are a few, then a hardened square or polygonal security chain and a big secure padlock will have to suffice. Security chain not regular chain and a padlock you research not just any old one...Videos more aimed at scooter and motorcycle owners would be more appropriate to watch for you...
