I am interested in for example what to wear on certain occasions (restaurant, party, date, office etc.) with a classy/stylish/old money style. Or maybe a "go shopping with me" where you can recommend items in stores or say why some items are not good and should be avoided. Also maybe a video about good coats for when the autumn comes?
Colorimetry ? How to match the color of your skin/eyes/hair with the best color ? And what emotion it reflects when you wear certain type of colors ? For a job interview for example
Love you channel, such great advice. A video to show how evening wear, black tie could be done elegantly. I would love your advice on what to wear to a Gala dinnear, I will be flying to the city (so can't bring much luggage). And it is in October, so suitable options for coat or jacket etc to wear over a gown.
A lot of the “elegant” or “classy” style influencers tend to stick to black, white, camel, and blue, whether or not those colors complement their own tones. I recommend everyone get familiar with their personal color palette!
What a wonderful channel. You are so light and well spoken. I also love that everything you talk about has associated pictures, so easy to follow. I love learning about the French culture from French women.
I had my seasonal color analysis done and I am a bright spring.. I don’t have any problem looking expensive wearing bright colors but that is probably because brightness is what suits me the most. If I wear colors that are not in my color palette, I look drained and older and my skin just looks very unhealthy, so I can’t follow most of these rules. When I do wear my colors, I glow like I just spent $500 at a spa. I don’t buy anything that is polyester though, and I have a physical color palette from my seasonal analysis and everything has to be in my color palette or I won’t buy/keep it. Generally I only buy silk, cotton, various wools, linen and nicer viscose… and I am very mindful of the lines of every piece. I wear one print at a time and then solid colors from the print in the rest of the items. Also I am very artistic so I can easily put colors together.. what I am saying is there are definitely people who can pull off being very colorful but I do admit that it is not for everyone. The whole look has to look very intentionally and flawlessly designed, but if you master this it really makes you stand out in a good way.
Bright, clear Spring here also & agree, but I can also use the neutrals from our pallette especially in winter (Ireland 🇮🇪 lots of grey, wet weather) . I love dressing in summer time when I can bring out all my Brights. A red lipstick really helps as well, or fuschia
@@adriennebrown3778 totally agree. It is basically impossible to find nice winter clothing in super bright colors, or at least for nice coats and boots etc. Off-white is a good choice for me, and same with the lipstick. I basically always have to wear a bright lipstick no matter what. As soon as I put it on, my face becomes more visible. I personally go for coral and red the most but hot pink is also really good to switch to when wearing pink clothes.
Totally agree with that. I look great in electric blue, lemon yellow and fuschsias because I'm a true winter. I look like a sick person with browns and beiges😂. I agree to the concept of statement piece though. An harmony of bright colours and standard/ pastel colours is ideal.
When I wear so- called island or beach colors, I receive the most compliments from people with money. They absolutely love the personality the colors exude. Bold and confident! I'll be dull when I'm dead.
Could you please do a video on what are “expensive cuts”? I realized this is part of the reason Ellena Hue looks good in colors - she chooses a lot of collared shirts, tailored pieces, and has a slim build. But I’m struggling to determine if certain things like pockets, shirt-tail hem midi skirts, or pleated pants are or are not an “expensive cut”
Another good tip: If you choose to wear white with colour, choose lighter pastel colours. If you are wearing black, wear darked shades of colour. Bright red with black looks a bit much, but a dark wine red would look good with black.
Your videos are always very sweet but a lot of these 'expensive' looks fall into a narrow-ish interpretation of expensive. They're quite samey and conservative... having your colours done is a game changer for people wanting to look expensive. As a deep autumn, I look horrendous in pastels and they look cheap on me too. But the three-colour maximum rule is very true, agreed! :)
When it comes to colour...most of this analysis go bland in indian fashion where colour elevates your look...people opt for bright colours and do look expensive....yes...there has been a shift towards pastels these days..but pastels washout most of the indians...its the colour which elevates your look... Btw i just found your channel and im on a binge spree....
Modeling the white suit with 3 shades of purple is super helpful. 🤍💜🤍 Just discovered your channel, what a delight! Looking forward to watching many more.
Super easy rule about mixing prints: same colors, different scale. One should be a large overall print and one should be a tiny graphic print, with identical colors. Just a thought.
You have many useful tips, so thank you. I always find it odd when a video talks about how to look "expensive" as if you were for sale. I understand what you mean, but I wonder if there might be a better word to use. Perhaps chic, refined, classic, polished, elegant, or soigné might be a better choice. They are just a suggestion for you to consider. Best regards.
It appears that the distinction between 'pastel' and 'bright' colors is closely tied to the nature of the fabrics used. In the natural world, it is uncommon to find plants, creatures, or living beings displaying such intense, vivid hues. Therefore, it is likely that fabrics exhibiting these bright colors are manufactured using synthetic or human-engineered materials, often associated with lower production costs, contributing to a more artificial or fantastical appearance.
There's plants and bugs that produce IncredIbly brIght and thIck pIgment such as these that they use In IndIa A MASSIVE variety of plant based bright powders that they paint their FabrIcs wIth If you go on some research you'll fInd out about It
Also Ariane I bet you would look so good in warm, chocolate brown shades! You should show us some brown-it’s a great neutral when you find your right shade.
Hello, I've just found your RU-vid vlog and I'm delighted by your knowledge. Could I Ask you about one import thing? O really don't like pastels, and I look awfully wearing them. I'm the autumn beauty type girl with typical brown hair, warm and peach and solfty tanned skin tone, Brown eyes. I love wearing Red, Orange, green, and many warm intensive tones. What bright and vivid colours could you recommend for this beauty type (autumn), instead of pastels😊🙏? P.s I'm an artist too, so I have been experimenting with many colours and tones many times😊.
I could not disagree more with the pastel centered philosophy. They are bland and baby pink and baby blue look extremely boring and drab. Pastels look awful on many skin tones as well. Yuck. I’m surprised there wasn’t a philosophy around deep jewel tones. Deep jewel tones like dark emerald and burgundy, maroon, plum, indigo and deep mustard tones and terracotta and sienna. These deep bold colors are rich looking! Especially when in the form of texture like satin and suede, silk and tweed and wooden button or mother of pearl buttons or abalone. Even deep orange in linen with sea shell buttons. Truly boring “safe” fabrics like cotton in pastel are not flattering on too many people. Color and texture have endless possibilities on a wide variety of skin tones. And if playing with pastel it’s easier to add hues to neutrals. For example, grey with a lavender hue, or grey with green hue. Or tan with the mauve hue as in blushy taupe. Or browns with the maroon hue. I find this approach much more universal.
Can you please talk about sweaters ? Like, which ones look classy, which ones trashy ? stuff like that ? I crochet and would very much like to learn all of this from you so I don't go wrong and look trashy
My friends tell me that brIght colors suit me so much and they complement me on It constantly Thats because I feel most comfy wearIng them So It has to do wIth How you feel In clothes rather than how youre supposed to appear for the sake of fashIon
I really don’t like pastels, I’m gothy and i only wear certain colours: black, grey, pink, red and white. I never think about if I look expensive, I always think of comfort, smart and casual.
I am so surprised that you used references image from Ellena Galant / Ellena Hue channel. Love her content - she is definitely the one who can educate about silhouette/proportions/color/texture/patterns at the advance level or some simple techniques for beginners for any occasions. I do love your content as well it’s always good to know basics ❤
Some people work in a good places but cannot afford to buy really expensive things. That's why. And some people want to live in a differ way they live in present. And want to change their mindset. That's why.
I think linen looks expensive but only fabric with viscose blend so it wont get creased just by looking at it 😅 the second pullover I have to ask - what if it was viscose knit? still looking cheap because or rib knitting?
funny, you say that the last pink tops to the left in polyester looks bad, not on you... you look much thinner and your smile is prettier too ! I do agree that in cotton it would be a better buy but the one on the left makes you look bulkier , sorry
I mean this comment in the kindest way. In English, to suggest a person "look expensive" is to suggest that a human is a thing; that a human has a monetary cost. I know that "to look wealthy" is what is meant; but to say it correctly is much too blunt and crude. Please reconsider your "brand" for this channel. I did not watch for years because of the de-humanizing connotation.
Maybe you should reconsider your video choices 🙃 no one's forcing you to watch something you don't like. There's nothing wrong with "How to look expensive". That is the title that gets clicks on hundreds of videos on RU-vid and TikTok. She should ignore the algorithm for one whiny viewer who thinks they know best. Go watch a video that offends you less x
lol. It’s just a video. There isn’t anything dehumanizing in it. People just want something to complain about. If a person can feel dehumanized by this video, there is literally no hope for us lol
