I loved the meal comparisons and the bulb went of in my head. Although each plate was healthy they would not be good choices if we are working towards fat loss. Love your videos. Please keep up the good work.

Really enjoyed your video. I hit like and subscribe. Also would love to see a video on how you build or enter meals into the chronometer. I have it but not the premium version. Hopefully I don't need that to build the right balance or percentages of protein/carbs/fats, etc. Wanting to lose fat and a month ago switched to WFPB but not seeing a huge drop on the scale. I will try to make a video on how to log/create recipes in this app soon for you guys. Don’t worry, You will get to your fat loss goals, you have to stay consistent & keep at it. This is my first video of yours I’m watching. I was hoping to make a new addition to my WFPB influencers, but I’m shocked that you say black beans have no fiber. They have both fiber and protein. 200 grams has 30+ grams of fiber and 43 grams of protein.

Agree - beans have fiber and protein, and are very filling. I can’t eat soy so no tofu, or gluten so no wheat protein - beans are where it’s at! 😊

Hey @pattyspetsittingadventures . Thank you for watching! I guess i didn't do a good job in explaining. I meant to say Fiber/volume of food coming from low calorie vegetables. Yes no doubt beans are full of fiber and are amazing! I never said beans and rice are bad. As a vegetarian all my life, I grew up eating tons of beans/legumes.😃 To lose fat overall calories matter and when you fill up your plate with lots of carbs like rice and beans (yes beans are protein source but they also contain lot more calories per gram and carbs. for instance 200g cooked black beans have about 280 calories, and only16g of protein compare to 200g of extra firm tofu that has 32g of protein) so in order to meet your protein requirements - you'll have to eat lot more black beans to meet those requirements, hence your overall calories will increase. You can definitely combine beans/lentils with tofu to still keep it low in calories, while reaching your protein/calorie goals. I would treat black beans as a carb source with some protein in it vs. a primary protein source like tofu. I hope this makes sense. 🙏

@@MrsSlimOnPlants I didn’t mention rice but, again, when you’re allergic to soy and wheat, there aren’t a lot of choices and beans are necessary - otherwise, it’s veg and fruit. Period.

@@MrsSlimOnPlantsthank you so much for replying. I tempeh the most. Tonight i had stir fried veggies and then cut up tempeh and cut fine and put in veggies on plate. I have to learn to like tofu. I know nothing about TVP or seitan. I will do easy things now. I have eaten McDougall’s for 5 1/2 years. Actually from Chef AJ. But I need to add more to eat to get muscle. I have loose fat around waist. I need to learn to chronometer. I do not have time now. I have to work with PT twice, Speech Therapy twice, and trainer twice. My husband is in hospital and I always have to fix his food which is meat yuck. The rest he eats is better for him. He is to get out Tuesday. I hope he will be strong when i go to my meetings.

You are just what I needed! Like the person below, this is my first video from you. I’ve been following a WFPB diet these past 3 months. Like you I just need to lose a few kilos, and despite lifting 3 days per week combined with yoga and a bit of cardio toning, I feel a bit of extra fat around my waist hips thighs lately. Ugh, maddening really! I was suspecting beans and rice, and eating more calories than I realize. Please make more fat loss videos, and recipes. Please share your cabbage recipe. Thank you so much. Looking forward to looser fitting trousers this spring!❤

Thank you for watching. Fat loss takes time over 40. Our lifestyle habits play a huge role as well as our diet. I will get into lifestyle habits in another video. You’re on the right path. Track your food to see where you’re going wrong & adjust. I have no doubt that you won’t reach your goals. Just have to be patient & lot more consistent. 😍

I have never had Seitan. Where do we buy and is there a particular flavor? Recently I had some tofu but don’t know what to do with it. Also I recently bought Tempeh. I am not sure what to do with it. I have bought without anything on it 4.5 fat, sodium 0 , carbs 12. I have eaten it plain, cold with some mustard. I am 76 and know I need protein. I just had a stroke 1/31 and am better now. Back to exercise today. I need protein. I will appreciate you helping me. At being 76 I have been healthy but now I need protein. Carolyn

I have tons of tofu recipes on my channel and written out instructions either in the description box of each video or my website. Please go through my videos to get an idea as to how you can add tofu to your meals. Is it possible to lose fat without weight training eating this way also? I'm just curious what % of results are related to weight lifting vs. diet alone and if cardio/walking would get results still?

Great question. Simple answer is yes you can lose weight eating this way and just by walking alone. As long as your daily calorie expenditure is below your maintenance (AKA: you're eating in negative energy balance). However, Its not a good approach as we get older. We lose muscle mass significantly every decade. Being a trainer - I see on a daily basis that most women are "under muscled". If you want to have a better quality of life as you get older, to be able to play with your grand children, go up the flight of stairs holding an heavy object and be more mobile as you get older...older adults need to do some sort of weight bearing exercises. You don't need to go to the gym. You can start with body weight exercises at home. Walking alone is not enough of stimulus for your body to hold on to muscle. Muscle is an expensive tissue and body gets rid of it, if you "don't use it". Hence the term - "if you don't use it, you lose it!" Eating high protein is a great start combined with some sort of strength training exercise at least 2-3 x a week for 20 minutes :). Plus those "toned" defined look that most women desire, comes from having muscle on your frame. I have a beginner's exercise program available for only $9.99 on my website that can be done at home. I worry about the plastic container that the tofu comes in. They likely put hot tofu liquid into that container and let it cool off into that container.

Can you please link the source for this statement. Most of the foods available to us are wrapped in plastic... I never heard of Tofu being poured hot into plastic containers before.

​@sourourian1 the tofu manufacturing process involves primarily heating soybean milk containing a coagulant and then packing it into a molding container. The milk is then heated again to fully coagulate. I don't have a link but you can look into the process. They use that white piece of plastic as the mold. The tofu is liquid until it cools and solidifies.

Hey Jackie, I'm assuming you're vegan? If you're - my primary plant based vegan sources are: Tofu, Edamame, Textured vegetable protein (Check out my TVP Burgers recipe on my channel), Seitan (check out Tofu/Seitan steaks recipe on my channel), Tempeh, High quality vegan protein powder, Nutritional yeast and sometimes (10% of the time when I'm in Rush) Vegan faux meats. In order to retain muscle - you must also incorporate some sort of strength training exercises. Minimum 2-3x a week. I hope this answers your question. :)

Thanks..i go to the gym and strength train..been using tofu. Just need to get a good vegan protein powder..i see some influencers use Earth Chimp and Compliment. I may need to add one of those.

I recommend beans and brown rice. They make a complete protein and they're not packaged hot in plastic.
