That was fun! I hope that you do well on your surgery. I would like to see a video on how you do your videos and editing. FYI take it from somebody who knows I have about 10 years on you. Try to do as much exercise before your surgery. Low impact of course. It will help in your recovery. Thanks again for a good video!!

Thanks man I appreciate it! I think that's a great idea and I'm sure a lot of folks wonder how I do it. I will make a point to do a behind the scenes video when I'm laid up. Lord knows I'm going to have some free time on my hands

I'm in my mid fifties and getting shorter. Switching to a different make is not an option as I love my ktm 500 exc and 300 xc-w. Do you think I can do this to both bikes? Great video!

If they make a kit they are pretty easy to install

How tall is your wife? Has she seen any compromise is dropping the height. Also I hope she is recovering fast.

She's 5-3. It lost about 3" in overall travel but for the riding she does, she will never bottom it out. If that was a concern you could always run a stiffer spring but it will effect your ride quality. I put bar risers on then slid the forks up in the tripple clamps to maintain its stability (so it wasnt riding like a chopper lowered in the rear). Ride wise it rides exactly like it did before lowering it. They say the hardware is stronger than OEM. She's back to 100% now. Thank you!

sliding the forks up is not a good idea.

It changes the rake and handling characteristics a little bit, but so would leaving it squatted 3" in the rear. A pro would notice the difference, but not your average amature cruising on trails. Sure, I could have resprung them, but for how she rides, It's not necessary.

I had my authorized KTM shop do my 2023 SX-F 350 I was concerned with this suspension change as well, they told me they have guys racing expert class/pro, A class etc with lowered bikes. Dropped my 1" in the back and raised the forks in the clamps, no issues whatsoever. I'm not turning pro but I can tell you that reputable suspension guys have told me this is fine to do.

@@brutus6328 Thank you for sharing! I can tell you that I have driven this a little since it's been lowered and it definitely feels more planted and stable having the lower center of gravity.
