@@timsmith1043 High blood pressure is one of thise things that can creep up on you without external signs. As Kokonut said, do intermittent fasting - it will turn your life around! You will actually feel less hungry and have more energy as your body switches from carbs to fats as a source of energy. Cut back on your intake of carbs, sugar and red meats. Do a search on RU-vid on Intermittent Fasting and you'll have many videos to watch. I've found Dr. Sten Ekberg's videos especially helpful.

I had made every healthy choice to make myself healthy. My blood work showed and still shows my numbers to be well within healthy limits. Also I have never been much into drinking alcohol. Even quit smoking. My weight is well within the healthy limits and other than the occasional cheeseburger and fries my eating habits are well within the guidelines given by the american heart association! High blood pressure runs in my family. Without the medication I would be a walking heart attack and/or stroke waiting to happen. Do not listen to the arm chair doctors commenting on anything a real doctor is trying to explain. I will continue to take my medication until MY REAL DR. decides we need to do something else!

@@fpvillegas9084 Well you should have known better than to say "Medication is for crisis or emergency situations." It is not. It is for controlling blood pressure when diet and exercise isn't enough as in my case. Again, I listen to my Dr.

I was in a health crisis last week. I was having extreme headaches for over 2 months. I am 29 and I went to my GP. I was measured at 180/100. I am on meds now. It feels unreal how quickly a bad lifestyle but most of all stress due to being depressed since I was 8. I am on dash now and quit alcohol. I already quit smoking years ago. People, it doesn't affect only "older" or severely obese people. I'm down 20 points and 10 points after one week of this lifestyle. Exercise is next on my list of improvements I am implementing in my life. Thanks for the tips doc.

Before taking any medicine, get x-rays of your cervical spine, if there's a misalignment in the C1/C2, most likely is the cause of your high blood pressure. If that is the case, then, the best thing to do, is to find an upper cervical specialist (one that doesn't offer a "plan"-meaning, have you come back every week or two).✌️

Hi Dr. Lindsay. I've always been a very healthy person. No smoking, drinking, no sodas, little sugar/salt rarely eat meats, and always on the move. But since I've been driving trucks I'm always upset and stressed out bc they push us until we're about to collapse with exhaustion. I checked my bp at Walmart it said slightly high, that scared me, went to va emergency room they said it's normal I'm 41 and it was around 133/86. I even asked the doctor was it ok and he literally said it's not ok it's great! At my most recent checkup it was again around 133/87 and I asked about it and the nurse said that's perfectly normal. Are those numbers really normal? Thanks!😊

I would have found it helpful to have a list of the 10 ways at the end of the video. As a general rule, recapping an enumerated list is helpful as a way for viewers to take onboard the very excellent message you provide in your video. Thanks for making this. I’m going to watch it again and make list to help me set goals. I had a BP in the hypertensive crisis range yesterday. I’m reaching out to my PCP this morning.

Supplements saved the day for my husband. In the middle of the night he didn't feel well and measured his blood pressure. It was way over the normall, so I started driving him to Emergency Hospital. On the way gave him Garlic oill capsule 7500mg. When the doctor measured his bp it was back to normal. My husband isn't overweight, doesn't smike or drink, but now he incorporates exercise (running), decrease in salt, increase in Healthy foods. For now at least, he will be OK

What I really want is a diet that gives me recipes I can make. Anyway know where I can find something like that?
@dr.lindsaymarie
@dr.lindsaymarie 3 года назад
There are lots of resources actually. Any bookstore should have a recipe book on a specific diet in the health food section. Also you could simple google recipes. For instance search for “Dash diet recipes” and a lot should come up! Hope this helps. ☺️

I just experiment. Today I made a smoothie with chicken broth, beef, salmon, red onions, garlic, tumeric, black pepper, ginger, flaxseed and Caesar dressing. That one I usually eat with a spoon. Then orange juice, soy milk, beets, broccoli sprouts, a banana, a spoon full of moringa powder, two raw egg yolks and glycine. It's my version of fast food. Although the broccoli sprouts takes me a little over three days to make them. I make two quarts so I only have to clean the blender every other day. If I get lazy and put the egg white in I just take some extra biotin.

Good Video. I'm 71 years old, my blood pressure is always good only one time I tested was little low, my doctor told me put more salt in my food, I think I had sometimes low pressure at night, I get dizzy sometimes, I drank lots of ginger tea and tumerec tea, I found out not good for me, I don't have any problem with Diabetes, the only problem what I have is cholesterol, I think I have it under control now, it was 5 last time I checked. I eat 6 cloves of garlic every day before breakfast except on Sunday, I eat oatmeal every day for breakfast, I try to stay away from sugar, I try to do my exercise I do some pushups squats situps plus to walk every day about 5 km 3 miles or more, even if it minus 42 herein Alberta, I listening to my body very carefully.

Hi Doctor Great educational video. Im 52 have a healthy heart , have had a echocardiogram the past 2 years, structural normal heart, zio patch last 2 years to make sure electrical system is good. I exercise and eat well, and have a normal weight. See a cardiologist twice a year for checkups and my blood pressure in his office is usually 135/70 He believes that number is fine for my age, and the American heart association is constantly changing the numbers, and my blood pressure numbers will not cause any damage. And don't need to be put on medication. Just wondering your thoughts on that. Thank You Doctor Peace and prayers from New Jersey Michael

Thank you! Sounds like you are actively practicing healthy lifestyle habits and getting regular check ups so you are on the right track. Your doctor or cardiologist will be the one to decide about the need for medication for you but for now keep doing what you are doing. :)
