Travis when you do mods on a vehicle it's always top-notch. It's one of the reasons your videos are interesting to watch and keep us waiting for the next one. A few months ago I replaced all the front suspension on my 2000 Z71 and it made a world of difference in the ride and handling. ✌
Bud!!! I dropped my 05 crew cab Silverado my self watching your videos. I appreciate all your work. And also appreciate you share you’re skills for everybody out there.
If you end up finding the front rides a little stiff I would definitely recommend the nitro drop 2 shocks up front, same truck except lowered 2" in the front with 2" drop coils only, and man what it difference it made, the SP shocks have more of that sporty stiff feel and the Nitros have a smoother ride, running a 275/30/24 tires which probably had a role in that as well with the SP shocks
@@TWAMotorsports good Friday evening Travis.. have a safe weekend out there.. my wife and I will catch your next video on Monday evening when I get home from work 🤙
1:40 in "This is a 200K dollar truck..." we all know you meant miles but with your hard work and restoration skills...and the cost of vehicles nowadays by the time you are done it may go for that. Great job as always.
Found the page recently, phenomenal and helping me greatly with my NBS projects. I know you didn’t install it on your videos, but could you link or indicate what grille this is on this truck?
If you loosen the gas tank a little you’ll have room to push it over, also it’s plastic so it’ll flex, you can get the bolt on. Then put the bolt in from the outside so you won’t have to do it again. Also bottom bolt for the shackle if you put the hex end off you can install it from the outside so you won’t have to take the hitch off if you need to relive them again
If you didnt have the helper bags on the back, what bump stops would you recommend for a 4/6 dropped crew cab? Also did you have any driveshaft rubbing issues? Thanks.
When i lower these trucks..on the drivers side rear the front spring bolt by the gastank...loosen it up a little and cut the head off with a sawzaw and put a new bolt in backwards...takes literally 5 mins to pull the spring out...
I'm looking for a truck just like this. Crew cab 2 wd cateye. If you don't mind me asking what did you have to give for it and where was it located. Everything around me is outrageously priced. Like 13k and upfor 200k miles.
I have the same flip kit you going to have to get a 2 peace drive shaft it will start to dig little by little till the 1 peace driveshaft is cut in half
Very detailed video. Question though, I lowered my 04 extended cab with the DJM 4/6 drop and I find my front end seems to bounce when hitting bumps or potholes on the freeway. Anything I can do to fix this? I have brand new upper and lower control arms, new sway bar end link and struts up front.
Hello I have a question, I'm gonna lower my 1995 chevy Tahoe. If I was going with a kit which kit would you suggest? And is 3 inches to much in the front, it is a 4×4 and I want it pretty level, and don't want any issues with stock wheels
@@TWAMotorsports okay thanks for the reply, I have djm 4” lower control arms on my 2004 Silverado single cab and it has alot bump steer , I have been looking at the bump steer kits you can get to change the angle on the tie end rods that the say will stop the bump steer, just don’t know what will work the best 2” spindles and 2” springs or that kit.
@@TWAMotorsports Yeah, but when I got it, the bed was like swiss cheese. The rust was so bad you could see daylight from one side to the other. That is 4 panels. I ended up installing baja style fiberglass bedsides.
I have a 2/4 kit for my 05 crew cab and it came with new cam plates, do I need those or do I just remove the lock out on the factory cam plates like you did? Thanks
@@TWAMotorsports Did you’re truck do good without the 2 degree shim on the rear leaf spring or did you have to reinstall it? My truck had one also and I left it off.
Hey Travis I’m wanting to lower my crew cab but I don’t want to go 6” in the back more like a 4” rear drop , what parts would I need , I already have the 2” lowering shackles.
So if I’ve already done the drop shackles, what’s the next best thing to get a few more inches? I’ve got a crew cab short bed and the hangers are welded….
Yo Travis I have a question I have a 2001 ext cab on 18’s currently on a 2/6 drop but I bought some 2 inch lowering springs for the front to to go lower & even everything out I’m using 2 inch drop spindles & drop springs do u think my 18’s will clear
I have a 2002 chevy silverado 4x4 1500 my son wants to lower his truck I don't have alot of money how is the cheapest way to lower it and I'm not good with this sort of work pls help
Does anyone know of a kit for airbags that works with a lowered Silverado 2500hd? That kit in your video description says it’s for a 1500 only. Would it work on a 2500 maybe? I’m looking to use a djm shackle and hanger kit that drops the back 5 inches. Then a 2 inch lowering spindle and turning my torsion keys down to achieve a 3/5 drop.
