I remember these hardbody’s in the 90s while in high school . At almost 50 got me my own dropped 93’ Toyota that I’ve been renewing for years. A clean mini now. Luv it till the end. Also have a drop 22’ gmc regular cab short bed 😂. But love my mini for around town.

I haven't messed with torsion bars since I put my rodeo as high as it would go, I just bought a hard body to daily and needed to know how to get it off the ground, the kid that had it bottomed it out and I wanted to lift it back up a little in the front, maybe 1.5 -2 inches just to give it a little more ride, it doesn't feel like there's any "give" in the front at all
@JapaneseMinitruck
@JapaneseMinitruck 9 месяцев назад
honestly, just to bring it up the inch and a half to 2 inches just crank up your torsion bars, all you gotta do is tighten them, bring it for a quick little test, drive and then park it and then just adjust it until it's level, the shocks always go on these things, though, I would make sure you have a good fresh set of shocks to help it stiffen up a little! If you crank up your torsion bars and have trash shocks, it'll Bounce all over the place when you hit bumps.

@JapaneseMinitruck

these are 15 x 10! I do have to say though I highly recommend 15 x 8 you still have to do a little fender rolling but the 15 by tens will destroy your wheel wells unless you don't care hahaha , unfortunately I'm not sure what the exact offset was

Just basically did the same thing on my truck, but I'm riding bump stops upfront currently. When you pulled stops how much of a gap did you leave between spaces? And do you ever bottom out making metal to metal contact? Thanks, sweet and informative video.
@JapaneseMinitruck
@JapaneseMinitruck 2 года назад
I definitely wouldn’t ride on bump stops because once they come out your ride will be completely uneven unless you readjust the torsion bars, best bet is just pull them out you really don’t buy them out bad or anything I cut off the bump stop metal cup as well, it’ll actually probably ride better than riding on bump stops to be very honest!

If you put the blocks under the leaf springs instead of putting it on top would it lift it instead?
@JapaneseMinitruck
@JapaneseMinitruck 2 года назад
They do it on some heavy duty trucks essentially you could use the blocks to lift or lower but I don’t think it’s the first thing I would do, I would definitely recommend getting bigger leaf springs or even starting with some lead spring shackles to lift up the rear!

@JapaneseMinitruck
@JapaneseMinitruck 2 года назад
Hey what’s up, and nah don’t stress it nothing sounds dumb, yes the bigger the block to use all over your vehicle goes, I wouldn’t recommend anything past 4 inch lowering blocks though, even then I feel like the 4 inch are a little tall

Do you need to jack up the truck to lower the front?(adjusting the torsion bar) also, what do i do if the torsion bar bolts are too tight and wont loosen?
@JapaneseMinitruck
@JapaneseMinitruck 2 года назад
I would definitely recommend lifting up the front of the truck even if you only get the tires an inch off the ground, I think it’ll help with any unwanted stress and could possibly make loosening the torsion bars go a little smoother. As far as the torsion bars go there should be two bolts make sure you crack free the first nut and then you can crank both nuts at the same time possibly or you’ll have to work one with a wrench at a time it takes a good couple minutes to do, i’ve never had one stuck to the point where I couldn’t do it anything with it but have you tried soaking it in some PB blaster?

What did u do to make ur exhaust so loud also do yk what tint I could use on back windows idk if there is a limit for those windows in Virginia also is it worth it to lower it
@JapaneseMinitruck
@JapaneseMinitruck Месяц назад
I would totally lower it down, I have videos on how to do it and it's really simple, you just need some 4 inch lowering blocks, that's about $50 and then you can just crank down your torsion bars but then you have to get a front end alignment but it'll make the truck handle so much much better and just look so much better, there's many ways to go about your exhaust, this truck is basically straight pipe with the cherry bomb, it was a friends truck wich was sold a few years back, if you want some of my other videos or especially on my Instagram of my purple truck, I have headers, 2 1/4 inch exhaust piping, a vibrant resonator and manaflow muffler and it sounds very clean and deep tone, also I don't know what your states tent laws are as I am in Maine

I only other recommendation is just to make sure you have a good shocks
@bbyfacebandit9319
@bbyfacebandit9319 8 месяцев назад
Hey man will installing lowering blocks affect things in the long run ? I’m going for 3inch lowering blocks and also does getting angle blocks matter ?
@JapaneseMinitruck
@JapaneseMinitruck 8 месяцев назад
it's better to get angled blocks, I'm pretty sure I say in the video which way to point them, or you can look it up, regardless, just make sure they go the right way because it'll help with your differential angle once you put the blocks under it, and just doing just lowering blocks shouldn't give you any long run trouble, if you slam it with 4 inch blocks and do the leafspring hanger re drill, eventually your driveshaft will wear out faster and you'll need to get a new one made custom for your suspension geometry

@JapaneseMinitruck
@JapaneseMinitruck Год назад
So the truck is on 10 1/2 inch wide wheels, front and back with just a big negative offset! They’re definitely cool but in the future I wouldn’t go with a 10 inch wheel maybe an eight it’s a little too much stress on the trucks components
@benjamincullifer165
@benjamincullifer165 Год назад
@@JapaneseMinitruck cool cool. So an 8 inch wide wheel w a negative offset? I just want them a little past flush. Another thing. Are the rims wider than the tires? That's why they look like they're being pulled?
@JapaneseMinitruck
@JapaneseMinitruck Год назад
The tires are definitely a little stretched, 8 inch will give you a pretty good stance with a little bit of poke I think, could probably run a 225, 50,15 or 195, 50/15 tire and have a decent stretch probably only need a 195 - 50-15. If you go with 8 inch if you go with 10 I would do it a 225

@JapaneseMinitruck
@JapaneseMinitruck Год назад
It's all good man, it's not for everybody, most the time when you lower a vehicle, it drastically improve handling, it could be easier to load your truck when it's lower to the ground, and some people just really enjoy the look of it, it's about the same thing as lifting a Truck, yeah, you can go over things, but now your vehicle is way slower, it's super impractical there a certain places you can't go listed as you can't, lowered, different strokes for different folks
