The only recommendation I have is to scrape a couple of small notches in the back of the corners and apply staples on the back instead of a nail through. The glue alone should suffice, staples would take strain off, a nail won't, if it was loose the nail would eventually let the bottom sag. Curious if counter sunk magnets would work to hold it in place instead of double sided tape.
@harvesthillcottage
@harvesthillcottage 5 месяцев назад
Thank you for sharing! The glue/brad nails seem to have worked perfectly as two years later everything still looks good as new. I’m sure there are many ways to do it though. :)

I’ve been searching RU-vid for quite some time and I finally came across your video, it was so easy to follow. Thanks David. The speaker is in the white wood basket/tray on the mantle. The receiver is sitting on a vintage shelf right next to the fireplace. We ran the cords using white conduit to camouflage as best we could. We are fortunate to have an outlet right there - It works well! Let us know if you need anything else. 😊

@nohemigomez9338 2 года назад
When making your own frame aka DIYing it, do you simple measure the inside of TV's (border closest to the actual screen), and you just cut the wood with those measurements? It doesn't make the frame smaller?
@harvesthillcottage
@harvesthillcottage 2 года назад
That is correct - that way the frame sits just on the inside edge. Otherwise it sits on the outside of the TV and doesn’t look right. Let us know if you have other questions. :)

You said the Velcro is attached to the side of the TV instead of the front? It looked like the Velcro was on the inside face of the frame, facing towards the TV. If it’s on the outside edge of the TV and inside edge of the 1x1, how do you get the frame seated? Doesn’t the Velcro get caught as it starts to go onto the TV? Thx, turned out great!
@harvesthillcottage
@harvesthillcottage 5 месяцев назад
Ok I went back and looked. The Velcro is on the inside edge of the mounting frame and the side of the TV. I didn’t want Velcro on the front of the TV. Hope that makes sense. :)

This is helpful! I’ve been noticing the sticker shock of frames before ordering the tv and thought maybe could make one. Two things I have questions about… how does the frame you made affect or come into place with the sensor that I think is on the bottom of the tv to detect light and motion in the room? Does it clear it or interfere with it? Also if you look at the tv from the side does the new diy frame stick out from the wall or is the wood flush? Thanks so much for your advice I’m considering getting a 2021 frame tv
@harvesthillcottage
@harvesthillcottage 2 года назад
So glad you found this helpful! I was worried about the sensor, but the frame doesn’t interfere at all - the TV and remote work perfectly fine. And the side view with the frame is flush with the wall as any piece of framed art might appear. We absolutely love it and have zero regrets. Making your own frame is definitely worth it! Hope that helps. :)

We just purchased a 65 inch flat screen Samsung TV, are old one was on a stand and this one we mounted on the wall. As a big Art lover and not really a TV lover ( hubby is) I’ve always thought it would be great for art. My question is this is not considered a “ frame Tv” it is pretty flat, can one still put a frame around it? I saw them on line with a big sticker price for the frame tv, and thought of purchasing a frame but realized it wouldn’t work as our new TV is not technically a frame TV, although I’ve been downloading beautiful art from You tube and it works beautifully but I’d love to have a frame around it. Can one build a frame for a regular Flat screen?
@harvesthillcottage
@harvesthillcottage 2 года назад
There is some fabulous art work on YT for smart TVs - love it! Yes we believe you can use this tutorial for any flat screen. You would just need to use thicker moulding pieces for the back of the frame to fit the depth of your particular model. You can also check out the Jami Ray Vintage channel - they did a video on building a frame for a regular flat screen. Have fun!
