This is what CPC course should cover more of. Use of Tacho and driving/wtd hours. Don’t know anyone who doesn’t finds it utterly confusing when starting
I work for booker bud I've had lots infringements recent thanks for your video it's helped me alot I've had no infringements for last 2weeks cheers mate
I work for booker too. Just a pain when im im a 7.5 or 18ton one day an then 2-4 days in a 3.5.. now manuel entrys for that many days baffles my head i always press no at that point.
My entire training for class 2 then class 1 was 4 half days. Thats just 2 full days total training for both class which included CPC test and reversing test and cost nearly 4 thousand pounds. They didnt have or even mention a tacho once the whole time. My first time using it was a mess, ive taken print outs and written on the back with an explanation. I told the agency and they didnt even care. Hope it doesnt come back on me. I now understand why there are so few new drivers, because its so incredibly diffcult to get into the industry. I would love some more advice if anyone else could take the time
I’ve been class1 for 31yrs & never done Manuel entries. But did 7hrs CPC this Saturday 12/5/22. And the instructor said its law now. I’ve never been pulled on it at work infringement wise. Not sure now whether to do Manuel entry or not now. Think I'll stick to pressing no ? 🤣🤣 old dog / new tricks
Even driving 25 years class 1, tried giving manual entries a go for the last month, fucked my charts up totally. Did it exactly as shown in this vid....trace showed no daily rest.......I will take the fine if I get pulled.
Great video, very informative too, I still find manual entry confusing but I think I'm slowly getting it. I'll just watch the video over and over till it sinks in.
Thanks for the video; fingers crossed will get it from now on; with the way things are you would think they would have a tacho to practice on in the training centres or even larger firms which take on new drivers? i thought they were trying to encourage new drivers right? instructions are practically non existent
Well I’ve just done a CPC course today should I really be entering my weekend off on Monday my employer hasn’t pulled me up I just put my card in and go
I watched the video it’s a bit confusing on the 10th I last drove but worked non driving between 16th then drove again re taco on 16th I finished late at night on the bb so I believe as we talked about I’m supposed enter a rest period between shifts? But on the video at time stamp 1:15 he says u must start very first entry with cross hammers his words “WE ARE PRILIMARLY SAYING WE ARE WORKING THE DAY BEFORE” which don’t make sense to discussed. Because if I finished late at night on the 10th it makes no sense first entry is working the next day? Then in video after setting for cross hammers he’s entering break period for the pro outs day but I finished late at night that day and went home. What happened on 16th I entered rest to account for 24 rest between shift but the taco machine jumped straight to the 16th and would not let me go to a lower date at all as my manager said I have to manually enter the six days between when I was resting and working but not driving this all very confusing to me.
First time I will be taking my truck for a recalibration on the tacho....do I have to take my card out or can I leave it in there? If I have to take it out and I am just gonna be waiting for an hour while they do it, when putting back in, do I have to do a manual entry or just carry on as normal?
Take it out once you hand the vehicle over to them. Once you get it back do a manual entry to tell it you've either been resting or working within that period your card wasn't in the tacho
Do exactly as I described on the video - it doesn’t matter if it’s a 4 day break or a 4 week break - you backdate the bottom date line to the top dateline make sure if the month has changed you change the month 1st and the current date should automatically come up
I'm confused brother 😕 somebody else told me you must put your tacho on rest before you finish your shift. But he doesn't do manual entry. He does it another way instead of manual entry. So I'm asking the question, since you finished the work before did you not put the tacho on rest❓️ and then continued in the morning with your tacho❓️ what did you do witn the tacho the night before❓️ if you didn't put it on rest doesn't the tacho think you're still working or driving❓️
There are less laws to follow if you are a commercial airline pilot, absolutely sick of all this crap to keep VOSA happy, to much intrusion into our lives, as a bum truck driver, doing a bum basement job, for rubbish wages.
Today is the first day in February, yesterday was the last day in January, as I started the manual entry, the tacograph didn’t go back to yesterday to start the manual entry, How can I go back to the last day of last month?
You don’t always do manual entry when your tramping because you are with the vehicle and your work starts as soon as you put it onto cross hammers when tramping AND NEVER PUT ALWAYS 15 minutes because everyone finishes differently And YOU DIDNT AT 15 minutes look again
Thank you very much. So... Manual entry, every time? My new job will be same lorry, fresh, new card. Do we record/set to rest after card removed end of shift, any value? Thanks again pal, Ryan.
Eject your card on cross hammers (work) on your next shift when entering the card (on cross hammers (work) press manual entry yes, then tell it what you did inbetween when your card was last ejected and the time you've just entered the card on this shift. Remember if you eject your card and walk into the office to hand keys in etc that is work which must be entered. tell it what rest you had after you finished your last shift. And tell it the work you did on the current day when you've entered your card (ie sign in and collect keys etc, hope this all makes sense but you will be fined for not performing a manual entry so best to do it
@Jimbo95 never said police, dvsa. I have no idea why you think timings have anything to do with it. Just carry on as you are and hopefully you don't get pulled, driving for years you say? Then you should know that we are supposed to do them, dvsa started dishing out fines from August 2020 to drivers who hadn't done manual entries, met 6 lads so far who have been fined for it. Don't do them that's fine but don't be telling others they don't need to their money isn't yours to play with
@Jimbo95 ensure that all duties conducted since the driver card was last removed from a tachograph are manually entered onto the card record, using the manual entry facility on the tachograph Copy and pasted from direct gov. There's plenty of other places you can find it, fines range from £200-£300 for not doing them and like I say, just carry on as you are clearly all your experience is good experience
What happens if you put no for additional entry ? I did this today and I think it screwed me up. I don’t ever do manual entry normally I just swipe card at depot tacho machine put it In ok ok ok everything and go
