Very cool. I have some lead line I wanted to use as a sink tip. I’ve found a mono nail knot is so clunky. Will definitely try this!

How about if the fly line coating is removed and create the loop on the core?

That's a great idea! I would definitely test it at home. My only concerns would be slippage, and for floating lines, water seepage. The inner core line sticks pretty well to poly coating and gives the thread something to bite into when I tie it. But if you could strip enough to tie a good loop knot, then seal it so water doesn't soak into the core, it probably work fine and be smaller. You got me thinking now, so thanks for asking. It would make an interesting video/test.👍 Let me know if you try it and how it goes! Talk soon, Steve

@@blackflycreations Steve. Not my idea. Check out vids by David Arcay or Howard Croston. All the comp guys use this method. What the comp guys taught me is to remove “mass” from the line to better detect strikes. My flyline rarely leaves my rod while Euro Nymphing. My leader is 2x rod length. I feel every tap. But keep up the great work.

Also no! Remove the casing first, so the sling gets flush with the fly line.

Thx for watching Wayne, appreciate the view! I learned this loop from Pro angler Devin Olsen "He also has a RU-vid channel "Tactical Fly Fisher". Its held up on my bass rod for almost a year now. However there is a better system I now use for my Euro Nymphing lines. I may do a video in the future. Tight lines Steve

@@blackflycreations If you do a video make sure you do not tie a bogus loop, and a bogus leader attached to it. Do yourself a favor and at least take a pair of pliers and scruff them both up before comparing them to the technique you are trying to promote. That is the part that is laughable. Totally staged.

Sorry it didn't work out for you Robert. I never want to give false information without proof of concept.
