How To: Make an 80s Metal Song in 5 Min or Less (+ Full Song at the End) 

Hello everyone! It's been awhile since I've been on this video, but I noticed a load of traffic originating from here. First of all, thank you all so much for the views and support! I am happy that most of you enjoyed it! That being said...to those who are unhappy, this was made almost 2 years ago when I had less experience on mixing and writing. I'd love to take another crack at making an 80's metal style song one day though! Thank you for watching either way. Sounds like old In Flames and a little Iron Maiden

Kinda sounds like a mixture of Iron Maiden and modern metal. Almost like power metal even. I love it and it's definitely not what I was expecting!

I feel like if Iron Maiden had written this in the 80's, it would have been a smash hit.

Gallop actually isn't triplets, it's two 16th notes followed by an 8th note. :P

Was getting ready to shit on the video or hope that it was a joke video... but I can't really argue with any of this. This hits all of the major (or minor, since it's metal? :D) points of a good portion of 80s metal songs. I'm gonna have to use this advice in my songs now. Excellent work!

P.S. since I don't see any other comments about the "triplet" galloping I'll go ahead and put this here, galloping is not playing in triplets by any stretch of the imagination....triplets are subdividing a beat EQUALLY into three...the three beats, or notes, that you hear in a gallop are just three 32nd notes followed by a 32nd note rest
