Being a old fashion person my mom use to make me banana pudding. But since she passed I just haven't had a good banana pudding. Nevertheless I must say I tried your recipe and Mama this is off the chain. You have made this old Louisiana boy one happy person. Thanks Mom
Yes indeed!! I’m definitely old school but make my banana pudding using that same recipe. I also imagine sitting in your kitchen with a cup of coffee watching you cook. You are so calming.
Yes mrs. Mae Mae I what you talking about and doing I'm so glad you have this channel I I grow up in GREENVILLE ALABAMA but I Remember my mother and grandmother use to cook their pudding that to much doing I like the way you doing much easier stay safe mama and keep on teaching use with your good cooking.
WOW! This recipe looks simple and sweet. Milk, egg yolks, vanilla, sugar, salt, and flour were placed in the double boiler and I used a hand beater to mix it all as a child. Fond memories as I recall Mom instructing me thru the process. She always used really soft ripe bananas. Thanks, Auntie Mae Mae for sharing. The LORD is good!
Wow… Such a nice memory… ☺️ I had always heard that over ripe bananas were best to use in Banana Pudding… I use them as a rule in my Banana Nut Bread… So sweet… 😊
Hi Mae Mae and Mr. Tuck. You all sound like your feeling good! My Dad always made this pudding from scratch. His Momma taught him. The pudding was made from the Argo corn starch recipe on the box. The egg yolks were in the pudding and he put the whites as a meringue. Pudding cooled first, then with cookies and bananas. Then under the broiler to toast the curls of the meringue!!But my Dad came from Tennessee. That's how theirs is.
I’ve recently found your channel. My daughter loves banana pudding( I do not eat it🤦🏾♀️) Unfortunately, all of the elders of my family are deceased. Can’t call them for a recipe, but watching your channel. Has helped with comfort foods. I could get them to make, or walk me through the steps. I was nervous at first, but I follow your directions. It was a great success. I made a big dish on 3-31-24. Today is 3-3-24, and it’s most depleted. My daughter and son be eating it for breakfast, lunch , and dinner😂 Thank you, southern belle. For sharing what my family loves 🌹💕

Love you. You are so right about everything being smaller than it use to be in the grocery stores, but the prices are ridiculous for smaller products. GOD BLESS BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. LORD'S WILLING I AM STILL GOING TO MAKE THE RED VELVET CAKE FOR MY PASTOR 'S BIRTHDAY DINNER IN FEBRUARY. I WILL LET YOU KNOW HOW IT TURNS OUT. LOVE FROM LULA MAE MCRAE &FAMILY.
Thank you Mrs Mae Mae, I’ll be making this for a friend for their birthday, I love your videos, easy to follow and I take notes, Blessings to you and keep on sharing .
I have never used French vanilla pudding to make banana pudding. That’s a good idea. I’ve used banana and regular vanilla pudding. Thanks for the heads up.
Blessings to you Miss Mae Mae ❤❤❤ yes, I am a old fashion girl from the old school and I can testify that making a banana pudding from scratch is a whole lot of work, and that’s exactly why I make my put in the exact same way that you do nowadays… It’s one of my favorite desserts, but I don’t have the time or the patience for it anymore Love you.❤
Mrs. Mae Mae! Yes thanks for sharing i make this same recipe except now I'll add the whip topping on top as well then crumble the left over cookies.. ive had both versions but I like this one with the instant pudding mix better.. also i add a tsp of butter extract along with the tsp of vanilla... yum yum 😊
Thanks for the feedback, I never used the butter extract but I prefer the French vanilla instant over the vanilla and the banana pudding’s 😊 thanks for watching 🥰😇🙏🏾
I've never made banana pudding without either cooking it from scratch or cooking the Jello pudding and pie filling, and thought the instant was not an acceptable thing. I tried this recipe today and it's fabulous! My man said "It's right up there with the best banana pudding I've ever had." Next time I'll put a little more vanilla extract in, I think. Thanks!
I wish I could come to your house for one of those good meals you be fixing!!!! I could watch your cooking videos all day!!! My Mom was from Evergreen Alabama and thats where most of my family lives. Deb K The preparation of this one is totally different, but the taste is very similar with the exception of the whipped topping instead of the meringues. Thanks for watching 😊
I just love you Mrs Mae Mae and wish I was around you when I was growing up to learn these cooking skills. But this RU-vid page is the next best thing and it is never too late. I will definitely try this recipe. I made it the old fashion way once (separating the egg yolks) and it was so time consuming.
Mz Schelioaas You’re right it’s never too late to learn. Please let me know how you like my method and feel free to email me any questions you may have. Thanks for watching!
Mae, Mae this sounds and looks wonderful I like how easy it is. I do like listening to you your voice is so smooth and calming. I so enjoy watching your RU-vid. I think I told you before it brings back wonderful memories. God bless you Mae, Mae.
Mae Mae my 5 year grandson watches your show alone with me...i think he enjoy it more than me, while watching the "chit chat',, Blake(grandson)ask me if Ms. Mae Mae can do french fries. I told him i would ask.(LOL) I have a ideal for the t-shirt monogram cause i loved it when you say "I be right back", the front of the shirt says "I be right" and on the back the saying is "Back"...
Brenda Gouch-Williams awww this comment is just everything to me. Tell my youngest viewer that yes Ms. Mae Mae knows how to make French fries and I will get a video up for him soon. Lol. I'll make sure to give him a shout out during it. I really like your shirt suggestion. I am going to ask my daughter-in-law to add it to our list of shirt ideas. Please send me an email of his shirt size. I will ask my daughter-in-law to make a shirt for him with that saying. Thanks for watching and I appreciate your support.
Awww, Thank you so much for your kindness, he going to get a kick out of this...lol, his shirt sizes is 5T and our email address is gouchwilliams@gmail.com @@MaeMaesHappyTable
I have always made banana pudding the old fashioned way but I decided to try this recipe. It's a hit. The whipped topping dilutes the sweetness and makes it just right. This recipe will definitely be in rotation. Thank you for sharing Ms.Mae Mae. God bless.
