Happy Mother’s Day everyone!!
Apranpransa, an almost extinct ghanaian cornmeal is not common meal that’s prepared everyday in a Ghanaian home or found on the streets of Ghana. It is usually served by the Akan tribe on special occasions such as marriage ceremonies, naming ceremonies, birthday celebrations, family cookouts or traditional durbar. Its name is derived from the fact that it is a complete meal with its soup that one only needs to wipe their hand (prapra wo nsa) to eat. Hence apranpransa.
