MATERIALS SOURCE:
Soil: Home made compost soil from
kitchen waste n etc.,
Clay: Natural clay soil we can get it from
banks of lakes or from local
potters....
If,u don't get clay from any of the
above source try making ur own
clay from normal soil (garden soil)
U can see in utube how to make
clay from garden soil...
Methods:
First take soil (compost soil) dry the soil and n once the soil fully gets dried
u can powder the soil (as shown in vid)
and then filter/sieve the soil..
Clay:The same above said method applies for clay also...
once u get clay just dry the clay nonce it gets dried u have to powder it n then filter/sieve the clay powder n use as shown in vid..

He makes a quality product, yet for a large tank such as 20 gallons and up, my endurance, let alone patience, would diminish quickly! 😂 i’m always looking for better and cheaper in the hobby, but for my 75 gallon tanks, I’ll gladly bite the bullet and pay for premixed bags of substrate! You can chop, rip, up a bunch of smaller pieces on a flat surface, then use another large flat surface to roll many at one time in the same motion he used with his fingers. Or tumble it...

If u add charcoal or activated carbon (both terms r same used interchangeably)to aquasoil r even to ur filter it absorbs most of the nutrients r the fertilizers u add will get absorbed by it and plants will not have any food(nutrients left over to take) Thank u for watching! This soil also has a drak brownish colour so even baking also slightly drakens the soil this is enough for contrast i think,but if u even need more black then use black soil

At 3:07, you talk about the composition of the Aquasoil. When you say "compost" do you mean organic compost from decayed plant materials, filtered topsoil from outside, or some sort of temper (sand, ground stones or old pots, etc)?

Get clay and compost. And do the process for both separately.you get clay powder from clay and soil/compost powder from soil.

heres a faster simpler method that is basically the same: find natural clay, essentially mud without any debris in it. make compost from food scraps and mud/worms in a bucket. mix 1 part compost two parts clay. should have a doughy texture, roll flat with rolling pin and feed it into a pasta machine, make lil squares by cutting the "pasta" horizontally. Dry em outside, if any are stuck just snap em apart. bake em for half an hour on a big crockpot on high flame. season with parsley and enjoy! (dont actually eat them im jokin)

You should look into pelleting machines. Some produce round balls from these ingredients. You could likely use the same principles and build your own basic pelleting machine.

LET ME CLEAR...😊 kaliman (clay) same or even man kaliman, Sifted clay means...the clay when u collect it from lake or buy from potters it may be like wet dough or dry hard pieces.. Once the clay gets dried,next it gets grainded or powdered and sifted(filtered through a mesh to remove any debris if any so ) *Same procedure for both soil and clay

The soil and clay look the same. Ok, they are the same but soil was sifted twice. Was the clay soil sifted with the same screen twice or a finer screen was used?

Check out the videos on hand-made candy. If you take a board and drill holes next to each other, in a row, then by cutting through the middle of those holes, you get two boards with channels of the same size, then you put a roller of soil, start rolling those boards on each other and you will get balls of soil faster and in larger numbers, you can use larger and smaller wood drill bits to get different sizes of soil. Your video is great, soil has become so expensive in my country, that replacing it costs almost as much as buying aquarium glass.

What exactly is compost soil, and where do you get it? What kind of clay do you use, and where do you get it. Here in coastal Australia the soil is basically just sand, so I have to buy everything, but still don't know what to buy or where to buy it.

This is a good idea for small tanks, but instead we can use red bricks already there and make it in to small pieces. Soak it in water to leave the dirt in it and use them, peace!
