Thanks for taking the time to make and upload this excellent instructional video. Thoroughly explains the process from start to finish. Your template idea is inspired and really helped me get the most from my rollers. Once again, sincerest thanks. Top job.

A bit late to the game, I know, but I made one of these this morning and tried it out making some 40mm bases. It makes a big difference and I suspect that with a little more practice I will now be able to get 'perfect' bases using the GSW rollers. Thanks Terry! 10/10 Regarding the clogging of the rollers, I use an ice cream tub filled with water and a drop or two of washing up liquid. During the session, when they are not actually being used, I keep the rollers in it. At first sign of clogging I use an old hard toothbrush to clean them - don't wait, do it immediately. ATM I cannot see any residue on my rollers. HTH.

This has been a really helpful video. Your method of creating a “jig” for consistent thickness of the putty is brilliant. I personally prefer straight up green stuff over a mix. While miliput certainly makes it easier to sand, I find it doesn’t stick as well to the plastic bases.

I have since modified my approach by drilling holes into the base before adding the putty. Some of it pushes through the hole when rolled, creating a small peg which holds the base topper to the base.

@@TerryPike Do you still use a 50-50 mix of greenstuff and miliput? Really nice idea to drill the holes in, how many do you go for on a 25mm base? 3?

Have you tried adding PVA glue to the DAS clay? I've heard it helps with flexibility. And is cheaper than Miliput and GS. Haven't done it yet, but on my todo list.

I have tried the PVA into the clay, unfortunately the results I got were a it of a mess. Its something I'll take another look at, but some other hobby channels have stated that the pva shrinks as its dries, resulting in the clay cracking anyway :/

How can i find the roller in the page of gsw?
@Don_Quixote_Punch

it's under "Amazing Tools" tab. For GW games I think the 28mm seems the closest but ymmv. www.greenstuffworld.com/en/159-25-28-mm-0-0n30
