I tried this last night, first time trying to fix gravy. It was GREAT, TASTED ALMOST LIKE MY MOM'S OLD ONION GRAVY. My wife and kids could not belive that I cook gravy and it was perfect !!! Thanks David, you made me a HERO for one night !!

This is the best gravy video on the Internet. Consice, simple, clear instructions with measurements. Made according to instructions. I burnt the onions a bit but it was still good. Warning though, after you make the roux if it doesn't turn brown don't worry because it will change colorbthe moment you add the water.
Thank you for this gravy recipe! I just made it right now with a few tweaks but both me and my husband love it! Instead of beed base I used beed bouillon because thats what I had on hand and it still came out delicious! Will be remaking it with beef base eventually to compare. Thank you!

I hated making gravy bcuz I didn't know what I was doing until I saw this video. It was so easy and my gravy was guzzled up in a day. Thanks for the vid
I did this with a product called better than bullion. It is a bit on the expensive side for what it is, but it turns out really nice when you mix 1 1/2-2 table spoons of it in 2 cups of water to dilute it. I know that's kind of a cheat but they have it for chicken and beef and it's easy to not screw it up.
This turned out perfect. I just had to add a touch of dark soy sauce to get the color right. Served it on smashed taters of course. Wife said it was the best part of the meal. Also had pork cutlets and southern style green beans with bacon. 😋

My mother would brown the flour first then put the onions and then the water. I always try to make it like hers but mine just would not taste right. So I am going to try it your way :) I will let you know how it turns out.
I really enjoy the no-nonsense or theatrics type of presentation. While your recipes are good, I’m glad you don’t see the need to say “best” or “ultimate” which are far overused in today’s cooking world. I see that it has been a while since you have made videos, but if you start again; I would suggest to put ingredients in description instead of the current way. It doesn’t flow smoothly if it is in quick succession.
My gravy turned out wonderful. It wasn't dark like I like it but that is because the beef broth packet was not dark it had a little color to it but not enough. But the taste and thickness was wonderful :)
