i hate grating yucca but my mom makes it with grated yucca and you mix it with an egg ans salt and then you fry them.........sooooo good you should try!!!!!
macapuno (puno' meaning full)- is a variety of coconut,normally coconut has it's water or juice are separated till it turns old(coco meat become really hard) but for macapuno it's water will naturally mixed or combined together with the cocomeat that turns it to become very soft,sweet and creamy - all in a natural process.
Have you tried using the full can of condensed milk and totally omitting the sugar? I think I'll try doing that and see if it's sweet enough. Or maybe the whole can and only half a cup of sugar.

We have cassava cake in Brazil as well! Ours is slightly different, we use less milk/no condensed milk and more eggs/sugar and butter! I'm going to try the filipino version! I love cassava cake

I am half fijian and my mum makes this all the time! We make it a bit different though.. we just add coconut milk and the grated cassava and sometimes my mum puts fresh pieces of coconut and we serve it with caramel sauce which has coconut milk instead of just normal full cream milk :)
This is by far the best and easiest to make. When I tried to grate everything fresh it didn’t turn out well for me. This is perfect and I add the whole tin not half. For more flavor, I add a heaping TBSP or two of cinnamon and about a tsp of ground cloves. And some vanilla. I like it darker. I do not add the topping after.

Just wanna know if you ever have tried making cassava cake via using mix Tapioca powder and cake flour? Cause, it’s hard to find grated cassava or atleast cassava flour here in my place.
