The truth is that you don't need any special tools or fancy coffee equipment to make cold brew coffee. You probably have everything that is needed. Here is the list:
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
-Ground coffee (medium or dark roast)
-2 pitchers (one to steep the coffee in and one to collect the coffee in after steeping)
-Standard coffee filter
-Pour over (or french press, or coffee basket from your coffee machine, or cheesecloth)
-1.5L or 6.3 cups of good quality water
STEPS:
1. Buy medium or dark roast ground coffee (coffee is more fresh if you buy it whole bean and grind it yourself, but this is not required).
2. Measure out 1 cup of coffee and keep pouring so that you end up with a mound. Pour this into your pitcher.
3. Add 1.5L or 6.3 cups of cold or room temperature water making sure to get all of the coffee grounds wet. Stir if needed.
4. Place in fridge for anywhere between 12-24hrs. I have found the sweet spot to be 18 hours. You can experiment with this as well.
5. After you have waited, take your cold brew out of the fridge and strain it using either a pour over, french press, basket from your coffee machine, or a cheesecloth.
6. Enjoy your amazing cold brew! Add milk or sweetener as you wish.
