Thank you for this great tutorial that covered so many things with very easy to follow explanations and helpful hints. I also liked that it wasn't sped up in areas that can keep you guessing of what actually took place. I wish I had come across this sooner, but I'm glad I finally did. I love all of your tutorials on your site.

Art Resin is the only resin i use. To me it's the best, I can sit at my dinning room table and do my coasters. I have discovered that putting lights in my coasters is a big hit for people who sit around the campfire at night. And they are beautiful with the lights. Thank you so much Art Resin for your product.

Hello, I’ve used painters tape for everything that’s a pour, be it resin or acrylic paint pours.When you use tape for resin pours or even paint pours and it runs over or if you use your fingers to spread, if you wait for a minute or two after you pour you can use a toothpick or a flat stick and scrape the drippy off and you will have less or no problem peeling off the tape. You can also use a heat gun on low to heat up the resin and it also helps to remove your tape. That’s just what I do. 🙏🏼🤗

You explained everything so well, and thank you for the tips about the warm water bath and not using a torch when alcohol inks are used. Obviously I haven't tried them yet or I think I would have burned the house down by now as I wouldn't even have thought about alcohol and an open flame hahaha All of your coasters were just gorgeous and I loved how lovely ladies showed so many different variety of ways to make them. Excellent !!!I always love your videos. I have your resin and the tip about warming it before is great. We have now low temperatures so is good to know these details. Other thing is that I never have worked with alcohol ink, I love the effects!! . Im going to try it, I am glad that I hear that I can't use the torch, that could be bad!!! . Thank you for the comparison with the three techniques of sealing, I didn't know that can be different each one .Question: 1.- There is any place where we can look to see the exact amount of resin we need for each size of project? . 2.- You also mentioned that we can sand the rough corners, but when we do so, is no shine anymore so what we should do? . Thank you for the step by step process. I personally appreciate it very very much !!
@Artresin
@Artresin 5 лет назад
Adriana, your comment made my day - thank you! I'm so happy you found the video helpful and that you learned some new information :) As far as how much resin to use - we do have our calculator on our website, although that isn't really designed for circular pieces, but it can give you a rough idea for the layered coasters. For the coasters in the molds, honestly, we just eyeballed it, based on how thick we wanted to pour. Yes, you can sand down the corners, and to restore the shine, simply mix up a small batch of resin and hardener and apply with a gloved finger or a disposable foam brush, much in the same way that I restored the gloss on the square piece that had been in the matte mold. Thanks again for watching! ❤️

68°-74° is optimal ambient temperature Putting resin in first keeps bare ingredients from poking through "Thin out" = lowering viscosity• Adding mold release will help keep the silicone mold from breaking down•
@Artresin

We recommend working in temperatures of 75-85F ideally. ArtResin likes it warm :).

When using the 3 coaster mold I have never been able to pull a mold out without damaging it. I have waited 3 days and used your tips on sticking (i.e. putting the mold in the freezer and using warm water)
@Artresin
@Artresin 4 года назад
Another trick we use is to remove the piece from the mold at around the 12-18 hour mark and to let it continue to cure outside of the mold.

This video is very informative. Thank you! Please can you share the safety precautions that I need to be aware of when using resin.
@Artresin
@Artresin 4 года назад
ArtResin conforms to ASTM D4236, meaning it is certified as safe for home use and non-toxic when used as directed, however there are some safety precautions that every user should follow: Wear gloves. ArtResin is very sticky in its liquid form, so gloves will protect the user from a mess, as well as skin irritation. Clean skin promptly with soap and water if it does come in contact with ArtResin. If ArtResin somehow comes in contact with your eyes, flush with water repeatedly and do not rub. Promptly seek medical attention. Work in a well ventilated area. Wear a respirator if ventilation is poor. See our blog for further information: www.artresin.com/blogs/artresin/what-safety-precautions-should-i-take-when-using-artresin For detailed health information, please see the ArtResin SDS. www.artresin.com/pages/sds
