Once I've made a comment about him having an annoying voice. I was only messing with him and he didn't take it so well. He's actually a great character and I really like his videos
Actually, I'm not too choosy - I'll take any hands for smooth balls. And I was in Israel a few weeks ago - lots of delicious falafel. And they all had smooth balls.
@@Utriedit215 Unless they grew up eating them but not making them and wanted to see it they’d taste authentic… Stop being an asshole. Their comment is from 3 years ago anyway.
Tried these out this weekend along with your pita bread and your tzatziki sauce. It all turned out amazing. Husband has decided to keep me after all. 😉 Thank you!
Dear Chef John, I have tried several of your recipes including this one. You have given me confidence to try things and to be a better cook. I appreciate your videos so much. You have made my and my husband's life better. I promise to save my accumulated roasted meat juices and to shred my own cheese. thank you Jerri
I created a similar recipe when living in Costa Rica. I did everything by hand, meaning no food processor. And they came out delicious. Of course it takes more time....for instances all I had was a fork to mash the chickpeas and a serrated steak knife to chop the onions and parsley. So if you have the will, you can always, for the most part, figure out a way around modern appliances. Use your ingenuity and you will be surprised at the results. Thank you food wishes for another great video and recipe. I have become addicted to your videos and watch at least one a day.
I love the way you explain every recipe. You make me fall in love with the recipe and cooking as well. I always have a smile on my face when i watch your videos. Thank you chef John for bringing a smile on my face and teaching me such good stuff
These are so delicious! I've been making them using Chef John recipe for years. I soaked my beans last night, to make today. Then realized, I had no parsley or garlic. No problem. Mint/spinach for the parsley and grandulated for the cloves. Excellent! Yumm, off to pan fry a few more... Thanks Chef John, for the best Falafel recipe ever.
I love Chef John, don't you just love Chef John? Yes, we agree, we all love Chef John. News flash "A man was found dead in a vat of uncooked falafel. Police are treated it as a hummuscide."
I made the falafel and tahini sauce today and have 2 salient comments. Following CJ's techniques and recipe exactly, this was both easy to make and the best falafel I've ever had, and I have been to the middle east several times Kudos on Chef John for his great, interesting, and accomplished videos. My wife and dog thank you, too. Since the holiday break, I have been watching all of CJ''s vids, starting at the beginning. I'm up to July 2011 now, and learn so much. Thank you! Oh, and my balls were nice and smooth :-)
Hey thanks! I just sent this to my dad as he is vegan. This is something else he can add to his list of Recipes. Your Voice is so "nice and easy" to listen to.
1 cup dry garbanzo beans ½ yellow onion, diced ½ cup chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley 4 cloves minced garlic 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour, or more as needed 2 teaspoons lemon juice 1 ½ teaspoons salt, or to taste 1 teaspoon ground cumin ½ teaspoon ground coriander ¼ teaspoon baking soda ⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper oil for frying
Who doesn’t love Falafel? Great recipe ! I love Lebanese food and gastronomy, it’s the best in the world. I’m from Norway, I got the chance to visit Lebanon eight years ago, it was wonderful.... beautiful country and people.
Those are the best looking home made falafel balls I've ever seen, and I'm sure they are amazing, making these this weekend since I'm going to soak the beans for 24hrs, I can't wait to try it ✌️
This was my first vid of yours three days ago. I made them and used a waffle iron to make falafel waffles. So delicious with your tzatsiki recipe. Your beer bread recipe is proofing now. Thanks to you, Chef John- I’m sort of a better cook!! Wahoo!
John, I have done the same recipe with grated zucchini along with canned chickpeas. Kept the Falafel mixture in the fridge overnight. Then form the balls and fry according to your recipe. They come out great. I served mine with a cabbage coleslaw. If you want my recipe, then I can type it in for you. Have a wonderful day.
I followed your recipe and I can't believe the flavor! I'm Lebanese and this is the best tasting falafel. I put that punch of cayenne and what a difference. Thank you❤
Oh, just made it and that came out just amazing! The crispy coat and the tender flavour inside...hmm! I confess I'm a great fan of arab food but had never made falafel, oh my! Is just delicious.
Every time I have a crave for some, I go to a local Syrian guy who makes the best tasting Falafel ever !!!! Dark green inside, smells amazing and crispy on the outside. I buy a dozen and rush home to make Tahini and Israeli salad. Great combo !!!!!!!! I LOVEEEEEEE Falafel.
This freezes well. I always make a big batch and add the baking soda to only what I will use the day of... I simply add the baking soda to the unthawed mix prior to cooking...In fact I prefer the mix that has been frozen, it seems to be tastier.... IMHO shallow fry method is the best way to cook these 💕 I love falafels especially when Im on a no-meat kick, I've seen vids making these with lentils which I shall try soon...Chef John your my fav cooking show, I love your puns and sense of humour thanks for your videos 🎉
Soaked 200 gr each of chickpeas and fava beans, but now I realize they will make a lot. I will freeze one half as I read you now, how much soda should I use ? Thanks :)
What can I say! AMAZING - WOW! I have so far miserably failed at making falafel but this recipe .... great from the start attempt. Thank you so much, Chef! Delicious falafel, and not even deep fried. 100 out of 10 :)
i laughed at the "just ask one of your married friends for their food processor" thing, until it actually came up in conversation, and these falafels are becoming a reality because of that one joke
Just made this today Chef John. Made our own tzatziki and a maple tihini sauce we had left over from another recipe. It was absolutely delicious. Only thing I wish I had done was make our own pita bread. Gonna keep this recipe ready to go from now on.
I love watching all your videos!. Everything I try comes out excellent and then after I got it down I had my own little speak to it but definitely follow your recipe to a T. And everything is delicious so no need to tell you I've gained a pound or two😳 And you make it very simple, one thing's for sure sometimes the most simple ingredients as well as recipes are the best. Just want to thank you one thing I'm addicted to are the dolmades I make those all the time and I can't wait to make the falafel!! Just to let you know I really appreciate it your candor as well as your humor. Excellent food excellent instruction. Definitely a fan.💯
Your recipes have never failed me. Just made this recipe today and the falafel was as good as the ones I've had in the middle east growing up. 100% trust your tastebuds and cooking expertise to do right by me
Lol.... I'm trying this! I tried the falafel while in Germany 🇩🇪! It was awesome! That's what I ate mostly everyday since I'm a plant base eater. Can't wait to try the sandwich!
