Thank you Josje, egg cartons are my favourite building materials because of the various textures they provide, they are plentiful, cheap and come in various colours here. I use a wet sponge to remove the excess grout, just like in real life tiling and the sealer makes the tiles surprisingly impervious to moisture.

My pleasure! Ah yes, a sponge! I've done a lot of tiling in my real house but forgot about the sponge for removing grout. There was a whole section in my video where I talked about the sealer making it waterproof etc. but I edited it out to make the video shorter. 😉 Thank you Coby!

Thank you for sharing your tips with us Josje - the wet ripping really made the edges seem like real stone.

That looks great! You can also use those coffee take out containers. I bike around my neighborhood on garbage day for those. (I'm a senior on a very tight budget) Working in miniature makes you look at the world in a whole new light! Josie, have you ever seen The Miniature World of Kit and Caboodlers? They are the polar opposite of you but create beautiful rooms and videos none the less. ❤ from 🇨🇦

Great idea! Coffee takeout is not really a thing where I live, but I like that there are different options to get free materials. Working on a tight budget can make you more creative, looking at and using materials differently. I have heard of them and have seen a clip on Facebook I believe (which was fun) but I haven't seen their videos yet. I'll have a look when I get a chance. Thanks!

That was helpful! did you also make the daffodils? Would you mind showing us how that is done? The aurora borealis was lovely and so unusual: I was in Italy and even there it could be seen! kindest regards, k

Yes I did make the daffodils, but they were a kit. The name of the kit makers escapes me at the moment, but they're from the UK. I love seeing the Northern lights, the colours are always spectacularly clear and saturated. 😃

Well, that was strange. I replied to your message but it has disappeared. Yes, I did make the daffodils, but I used a kit. I can't remember who made the kits ( I think there was a girl's name in the company name), but they sold many different plant kits. They were from the UK. I love the Northern lights. I've seen it several times in different forms. It's the most beautiful display of intense and saturated colour I have ever seen. 😃

Heel realistisch.

Lijkt me een leuk klieder klusje.
