Foaming hand soap is one of the easiest DIY's to make.. and you can customize it with whatever scent you like....or keep it fragrance free. Choose safer products, or make your own, without all the chemicals!

What makes the soap antibacterial? Is it the soap or essential oils. I am sorry if you mentioned this already. TY!

@@matthewmatthews8907 the suds in the soap breaks the fatty/mucus outer layer of the bacteria and helps it “detach” from your hands/skin. When you rinse it, the bacteria goes down your drains. This is why it’s recommended to scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds, so you can scrub bacteria out. If you use tea tree oil, however, it can be a combination of the soap and oil since that specific oil has antibacterial properties. Hope this helps!

I make hand soap all the time but I was using tap water so I won't do that anymore and I have never used vegetable glycerin .... just water, castille, and essential oil... usually during cold/flu season I will use thieves oil, tea tree or thymol. I think for the winter months when our humidity in low I will add some coconut oil for the moisture.

I know that would produce coloring a safe way, but I wonder if it would clog up the pump? I am not sure. It may dissolve fully? Getting the pump clogged would be my only concern.

I used hand wash powder to make hand wash. But it didn't make any foam even when i add enough water. Did I miss glycerin to make it foaming?

Hi .. why do you use preservative for face but not hand soap. .. just curious, and that brings me to the question of how long can you keep the make up hand solution .. for months? or does it expire after 30days and you have to make it up again ? Thanks

Can you use thieves oil instead of Adding other essential oils and how many drops of thieves oil to that same container

Thieves is an awesome essential oil for fighting colds and viruses! I think the history behind Thieves oil is so interesting. I add 8-10 drops in the soap.

Terry, I ordered the dispenser from Amazon. It's mason jar foaming soap dispenser lids, since I already had the jars. The labels comes with the dispenser lids.

@@sandysteinbrook I hope to make this. Thank you so very much for posting this, Sandy. Another quick question, if I may. My mason jars have designs on them (flowers that protrude from the glass). Yours seem plain/nothing on the glass. Where can I get the plain jars? They look nice!

I love questions so, NP. Mine has designs on two sides of them also. I just put the labels over top of the design on one jar and put it on the flat side on the other jar and then moved the nozzle where I needed it to be over the label. You will receive 4 labels with the dispenser nozzle. Then you can choose the font you like.

Ca steel not ca stile. I am sure she makes a good product but there is a far simpler way. Dawn anti bacterial and city water. Fraction of the cost of hers. If you can drink city water you can wash with it. One part detergent and three parts water. You can add more water after that up until it no longer foams but squirts instead. Also, I have tried this with other detergents and Dawn does the best. Water first then detergent. Example: nine ounces water and three ounces detergent. As mentioned, you can increase water but stir well. Clear dispenser after each dilution so you don't get a false reading. Then you can add one ounce of water at a time till you get splutter instead of foam. I would not go beyond 1 (soap) to 4 (water) so as not to dilute the antibacterial detergent.

Use polysorbate 80 and it will help you oils and water mix and stay mixed so you won't have to shake it
