I guess I must be lucky then because I very regularly get mostly greens, some blues, I hardly ever get base, and more often than not get rares and exotics on unidentified gear bags, and this is with MF usually between 130-200%! Thanks so much for this guide though, it really helped me understand the process so much better! ♥

OMG my upgraded bank is full of different items, rare loot and crafting material, items for collections and weapons I like to save and other items I don`t know for what I might need them one day or whether I will ever find them again

Summary: get ectos, scrap with gold salvage kit, sell dust, use luck. Getting max boosts is by using a guild, silverwaste metas and personal boosters and food. What a banger!

Don't use basic or crude. Best is the yellow one. It's expensive but it has better stats.

What about exalted chests, caches or pads? Are they affected by magic find? I can't remember what rarity I was looting when my magic find was below 100%...

The laurel Item Booster (masterwork) is NOT a different buff from the Heroic Booster. You're thinking of the discontinued Magic Find Booster (fine rarity), available in Enchanted Reward Boost, or from Communal Boost Campfires.

Does Magic Find affect the gear received from opening unidentified gear? Everywhere I look seems to have conflicting information.

they changed it somewhere back in march 2019. It used to work before the update but after the update this was removed. So no, MF does not affect unindentified gear anymore

Hi! Great tutorials, thanks! About this video: I currently have +131% Magic Find. I've done what you say with 50 Ectoplasms and at the end a got only +1% Magic Find, and I've lost over 2 gold. Is it correct? In your video your Magic Find Rises a lot more. Thanks!

That's because he was using an alt account by the looks of it. On that account he had only 25% magic find and it is a lot easier to level up in the beginning.

When savage GoE, I get, most of the time, one pile of Cristaline Dust... some times 2... I bough 200 GoE to do the test, and, in average, I lost 20golds....

Thx, nice guide. 04/2021 i bought 250 Globs of Ectoplasm for 49.35g, + 0.075g for salvaging. I got 404 Piles of Crystallin Dust, sold it for 41.5847g and Essence of Luck (summary 25870 of Luck). So, 25.8k of luck for 7,84g or 0.30g per 1k of Luck, Now i have 216 of Magic Find, for 217 i need 27.160. I don't think this investment will ever pay off

@@besafe8932 no. Still identify 1st as it can still reward a higher tier of gear, it just doesn't get that multiplication factor from magic find. Ie, a blue when identified can still give green, yellow or even exotic!

did you salvaged with a master salvage kit or a mystic kit ? if you salvage with a low tier salvage kit you will get less dust & make less profit

No need to be infight ; you can check the Magic Find in Hero Pannel, you will see the increase +40% MF even if out of combat :)

On the Gw2 Wiki it says, it needs 1000 Magic Find for no longer getting junk dropped. Not 500. I don't think , the math is quite right on this one.

@@Cellofrag thanks for the fast response and making clear on what the devs said, unfortunately I miss many of those mathematical facts given by the devs, because I don't usually follow them on social platforms. And about the 500 MF - on 1:46 it implied to me, that this would be how it works, but thanks for clearing that out too! Finally I can be sure about how this works, it was very unclear for a long time. And it's sad, that unidentified gear is no longer affected by MF.. I used to make good profit of it.. I also wanted to tell you, that your videos (loved the music cover on the keyfarm-video) are really well designed and I love the effort you put into it!

The vid is good but has 1 pretty big mistake.. It takes 1000% to double the base loot multiplier, not 100%... Proof here: en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/35063/research-drop-rates-of-materials-from-foes-and-influence-of-magic-find And that makes a lot of sense, imagine if 1000% (easily boostable) gave you 10x more exotics etc... That would be way too overpowered.
