No but it’ll make the broth clear and natural sweeten the soup so no msg is needed.

I know a vegan recipe that uses it. Korean radish is best. & it adds a mild sweetness & flavor. I wouldn't mind using it for a meat pho. It's good! Koreans use it in soups all the time.😊
