You don’t want to use frozen fruit because when it melts, it will release liquid, which will affect the gel aspect of your dessert. You could thaw the fruit first and drain it. I always put my cold water in the freezer so that it’s just beginning to form icebecause it helps the Jell-O quicker. I prefer the Jell-O without the fruit juice, but lots of people do use the fruit juice. I actually like the flavor of cherry or orange Jell-O without anything else in it except fruit I always put fruit in my Jell-O.
