Always check each cell's voltage. Add an active balancer will protect all cells from overcharge damage

Queria saber se posso pegar uma bms 3s e carregar baterias de 2s e 1s. No caso 1s usava uma fonte de 5v na bms 3s ou teria que ligar ela nos 12,6 na minha opinião acho que seria nós 12,6 porque cada celula carrega com uma voltagem específica, estou certo?

i have a nikon en-el4a battery it is 11.1v 3s . My logic follows that if i opened it up i would find a similar bms board inside . In order to charge it with a smart charger like imax i assume i just need to connect the positive and negative terminals?

Should have used a buck regulator with current limiting adjustment. As it is, if the batteries were actually flat (yours weren't) the charge current would possibly be very high and blow up you buck regulator or the batteries. This is possibly one of the reasons there are so many Lithium Ion fires.

The BMS in the lithium battery is for the battery protection of low voltage cut out, excess current turn off, over charging protection. It is mainly for preservation, not charge management.

So what your saying if the bms doesn’t specify cell balancing then its just for charging and discharge management? I have a charger that has variable voltage and current settings and over charge protection so I’m wasting my money because i can always put a fuse to protect the device against excessive discharge current although i wouldn’t have undercharge protection shutoff other than installing a voltage meter.

@@Once_in_a_Lifetime Take a step back. There are 3 stages in charging a Li-ion battery; the first two are CC and CV with a defined transition point. A proper charger does this. NOW does a BMS do this? Hint the answer is NO ! You can drive a screw in using a hammer but that is stupid - so is using a BMS to charge

@@kennmossman8701 I pretty much wanted bms to balance the cells, as you said a good chargers handle the current and voltage settings and protections. I’m just getting into this now and just using slightly cycled batteries to learn and having removed the bms that comes with modules i didn’t know how important cell balancing would be as i picked up a variable charger that can handle the charging requirements. Guess i’ll find out!

@@Once_in_a_LifetimeI’m pretty sure that the BMS is not for charging. I was confused too. But now I know if you use this BMS and you do need a lithium battery charger to charge the battery pack.

It is used for charging when batteries are used as a pack, even if they are used this way all batteries MUST be at the same voltage before first charge. You are right BMS can not be used as a charger in this scenario.

Mau tanya bang. Adaptor cas bor corldes kan 21v - 48v arus output nya di keterangan. Dan ada lampu indikator jika penuh. Kenapa saya pake untuk cas batrai pack 24v kok pampu di adaptor tetap hijau dan tidak tercas ya. Saya ukur tegangan baterai pack 19,1v . Mohon di jawab bang 🙏

I don't have step down module and my 12v Charger output is 13.2V. Can use that BMS with 13.2V intead of 12.6V

No. It has to be a special charger (i.e. XL4015) that has constant current (CC), constant voltage (CV). You cannot use a normal 12V or 13.2V constant voltage power supply.

Use XL4015 instead of XL4005. Choose XL4015 which has full charged led version.

If you know that then you know the status of the capacitance of your battery by determining how much current it took from total discharge in X amount of time.

У меня такая плата вообще не запускается. Придется пока её отложить и заряжать в Imax6. Но тут проблема, чтобы не высадить аккумуляторы ниже 2.7В. Использовать буду в RC модели.

You can use a charging module with 2 batteries wired in parallel...without protection you will overcharge the battery and damage them

@@kennmossman8701 Bad how exactly? I have made such battery packs for old laptops, they show no problems. H3PO4 acid was used, soldering was done in seconds and any acid remains neutralised and cleaned afterwards.
