If you are looking for canning, gardening, preserving, cooking, crafts, prepping tips & so much more, then you have come to the right place.
Hi guys! My name is Sammie & I am a homesteading wife, a homeschooling mom & a granny.
We live on a 10-acre small hobby farm in Oklahoma, we have 7 children with 4 still at home. We grow & process a majority of our meat supply & grow an organic garden which supplies us throughout the year by growing & preserving.
We are also blessed with many wild edibles growing on our land to forage, eat & to also use medicinally ~ I show you how to harvest, use & preserve some of them.
Thank for stopping by! We hope you enjoy our family channel & consider subscribing.

This was so interesting to watch the process you go through to make these. I loved the one with the wired stone, it was cute. I would have never thought to do this. I remember these when I was a child, everyone carried a Rabbit foot.

Is there any replacement for the borax? It doesn't seem like its available in my country Ive got a few rabbit feet and would like to make something like this, they're very pretty! :D
@bluefeatherhomestead
@bluefeatherhomestead Год назад
Great question! Thank you for asking I have read that you don't even have to use Borax, that alcohol will be enough, just hang it in front of a fan to really dry it out afterwards. On the other hand, Borax is an anti bacterial chemical that inhibits the growth of bacteria in the feet. As they dry, it leaves microscopic borax crystals inside the muscle & tissue of the feet, making them 100% preserved from bacterial growth or rot. I hope this helps. Have a beautiful day.😊

How much do you charge for them at the markets?
@bluefeatherhomestead
@bluefeatherhomestead 2 месяца назад
It depends. Some of them have more embellishments and things. I usually charge $10.00-$15.00 for the necklaces and start at $5.00 for the keychains.

I havent watched the full video yet so i apologize if these questions are answered in the video, are these front and back feet or just one or the other? Also how much could i sell these for, like at a roadside stand setting.
@bluefeatherhomestead
@bluefeatherhomestead Год назад
No problem at all. Front feet, back feet, and tails are what I have used. Depends on what all you have on them for decoration. Some necklaces that I make, I will put on one of my wire wrapped crystals & I will charge $10.00 or $15.00. If no crystal and maybe some beads on them, I will charge $5.00 or so. Same with key chains.

If we have 90% rubbing alcohol will that work?
@bluefeatherhomestead
@bluefeatherhomestead Год назад
Good question. Taxidermist recommend 70%, something to do with disinfecting the whole cell, rather than just the surface. That probably doesn't sound like it makes sense..... but it seems like I used 90% once and they all got super slimy so I have just stuck with 70% for anything that I am preserving.

What does the Borax do in the process of making the charm?

if you don't have faith in Jesus, you are in trouble Beloveds ‼️ We are living in the end times, just look around! Everyone is comfortable in their own sins; it's gonna be a time where it'll be too late for many, but to those that don't want to perish in their sins, I'm telling you Beloveds. Get right with God NOW, Seek Jesus and Believe in Jesus and Repent! ❤️(p.s. yes ik my comment had nothing to do with the post but just think about where do you think your soul is going if you were to leave this earth rn, tm‼️)

Omg go away. Why are Christians the only ones ON THE PLANET that push their god onto people??? Stay in your lane and do for yourself what you feel is correct for you. No one has any business trying to spiritually coerce others. Suuuuuuper inappropriate. Have the day you deserve, friend.
