Love this! Everything listed in here is essentially the exact same as our process. A vibe-check we like doing is explaining the theme / concept of the video to a friend as basic as possible, then seeing in reflection if we ourselves would be excited to watch the video.
I love that you made a teaching video. France has a few young enthusiasts who want to make videos, and this guide will really help them up their game! Can't wait to have a whole generation of new players who finally get to watch content in their native language!
I've been thinking of doing more script-based videos instead of my usual TAS combos, so this is very helpful! Thanks for making this :) Also, I'll be sure to try DaVinci now that you mentioned it; never heard of it before.
Your videos have always been really well put together (esp in organization and design), so it’s neat to get a peek into your creation process! Thanks for sharing!
good shit. these tips also pretty much apply 100% to youtube content creation in general. and thanks for the Vegas heads up, I definitely gotta switch...
hey radar, ive been thinking about getting into making content relating to getting better. how qualified do you think you need to be to take on this kind of role? I think I can put most things into words, but in practice I cant execute the things i want to talk about super well. added question- have you been PR'd?
My advice: just start. Don’t worry about qualifications, focus on making stuff, and focus on making stuff you know. If you don’t know a lot about the finer details about the game, make content about stuff you do know (could be things about the players, you name it). The most important thing you can do is just to start. You’ll never get better if you don’t get experience under your belt! If you aren’t good at putting stuff together in practice, the only way to close that gap is to do work and get better :) As for whether I’ve been PR’d, no, but I’m also just not an active player. I left my scene in 2017 to move to Vancouver, entered a handful of tourneys there and then got in a car accident and couldn’t play for years. After that COVID happened and I have shifted more towards focusing on commentary and videos, vs competing. FWIW I had some decent results before I left (top 64 at EGLX, top 96 at GOML). Not anything amazing but also decent lol??
