So funny. Arne must have been mischievous as a young boy. The kitchen seems to bring out the comedian in him. Once he starts giggling it sets me off. You must have lots of fun together. I was one of seven children and remember having to take turns at having the bowl, beaters or wooden spoon to lick on baking days. Arguments always ensued I have to add. I hope you both have a lovely Christmas together with Freya. X Angela

I’ve never had Cloudberries. They do grow in the U.K. as well, but in N. Wales, Scotland and some parts of Northern England. They are not much eaten here probably because they are very scarce. They are the same family as our much loved raspberries. Happy New Year.

Hello, Growing up in the Norwegian tradition we had krumkake, which I believe you called by a different name, we also had fattigman (poor man's cookies), rosettes, lefse and lutefisk with drawn butter and salt/pepper. several churches in Minnesota still have traditional lutefisk and meatball dinners in the fall (our church served 350 pounds this year) the lutefisk is boiled, my mother used cheesecloth and was careful not to over do it (the jello thing) I have the lefse rolling pin my grandfather made, I believe it is approaching 100 years old. My kids and grandkids are big lefse fans, not so much the lutefisk. Enjoy the episodes. Jim Molde, Bemidji, Mn

They grow here in Canada. I bought some cloudberry jam in Newfoundland. It was a delicate taste, not strong like raspberries or strawberries. Lighter and lovely. Even lighter than blueberries. It’s a regional treat and hard to find elsewhere. I saved the jam for years and wouldn’t let anyone touch it!

Who don't wants to lick the cream from any kitchenstuff. All my brothers did it. My partner does it. My daughters did it. It is the best part of baking and cooking. Only the cook, meant myself, don't do it. 😊 It was so nice from Arne, to bring a plate to Carlos, to eat the dessert. I think, Arne is cleaning, so he will save time, when the cream don't drop onto the floor. Well done. 😉

I was thrilled to see you making a Norweigan traditional dessert using cloudberries. As several other Canadians have already mentioned, we know them as bakeapples. We picked them while living and teaching for 2 years in a northern Labrador coastal Innuit settlement. They were considered a secret treasure there too and we would go out on the ocean to an island for a berry picking day wearing mosquito gear and picking into paper bags which we would quickly open and close to keep out the flying critters. This video was so much fun - thank you!!

Loved this (and your previous) cooking episode(s), not so much because of the Norwegian traditionals, but just because this home-made setting gives a very warm setting to the things you do, without any production clumsyness (but just enough from Arne to keep you out of the dangerous 'look at us being so good' zone).
