Love your work. My question is what first got you started in making these cool creations? Have you always crafted or was it a particular project that snowballed?

As an alternative to the latex ( as I'm allergic) I would use platinum silicone like platsil 10 for a nice jelly brain

When cleaning out the clay from a mold I find it useful to take a spray bottle and fill it with rubbing alcohol and spray the alcohol at the small pieces of clay. It works really well.

A couple of years ago I made a brain cake for a party. I dressed up as the scarecrow from Wizard of Oz....Other ideas I had considered were Dr. Frankenstein with a brain for his experiment and a zombie bringing a snack with me to share.

Love the video, it has me thinking of making a classic brain in a jar prop, do you know if the latex brain would survive being submerged in water?

Too many steps why not just layer liquid latex over the brain Jello mold instead?
@ardentea
@ardentea 4 года назад
Donna you can do that. But you’re limited to size and design. If you sculpt your own, it can be customized to whatever your needs are.

Much easier, & faster ,right ? .. unless your doin a weird sized brain,like ,say ,mine for instance, which i keep in my pocket because of its tiny girth.Remember Mark Williams brain -monster from the film "The Brain" ? -that thing was HUGE ! (add Michel Scott joke here).

It's Jennifer again I do want to ask another question about the brain that you're making is the clay that you got from Hobby Lobby do you need to add water do you need to do anything is it pretty pliable and doesn't dry on its own

Is there not something else you could make a mold from besides plaster that would work...the reason I ask is bc plaster molds are heavy & eventually they chip & lose detail the more they're used...also there's the chance of dropping them & breaking them!!!???! I was just thinking maybe there was something lighter that would last a bit longer?! Love the vids!!

I have a question about the skull that you use for a template. De head seems a bit flat on top. I have sort of the same skull with also a flat top but I also have a skull with a more rounded top. Do you think the flat top is normal or a design or production flaw of the skull?
