I'm always looking for your recipe! I won't feel right until I consult you channel before I start a dish that I'm not quite sure about! You are the MAN! Hands down! God bless you for sharing with such passion!
Comfort food! Mama made this growing up with a few variations. It was always delicious. I tried your recipe today with my favorite local sausage but followed the recipe to the letter. I was pleasantly surprised that it was as good as any I had ever eaten. Excellent stuff!
Thank you for your video! I’m a New Orleanian as well and I like how you boil your stock to cook your ingredients in. I normally boil my stock when I make seafood bell peppers and Gumbo. Thanks for that tip. I’m making this today!❤
Charlie Andrews I had to come back and tell you that this was fantastic!!! It has become our family favorite!! Well, maybe not better than red beans and rice! But right up there!! Thanks for this!!
Charlie...hahaha! I see now that you are my secret weapon! :) Now, seeing as though I am from Louisiana too, I HAD to learn to cook growing up!!! hahaha You've elevated 'ol girl now. :) So, I made this last night and from the first bite, my husband was like, oh you trying to make sure you stay in the family, huh? He started giving me hi-fives and sending pictures to his family, like, look what my wife made me...lol It was funny and inspiring at the same time. He called one of his cousins over to try it and let me tell you, that one there, he's iffy. Sometimes he'll like something, sometimes he won't. The first bite, he looked at the bowl and said 'WTF'? I had to laugh...he killed the bowl and took some to go. My brother found out I cooked it and said he was coming for his portion as well. Having said that, Charlie, I plan on keeping and using every recipe you have. Thank you :)
Wow that's cool. Happy to hear that the Smothered potatoes was a success and that everyone enjoyed it. You really surprised them all that's for sure. lol Next time you may have to cook more since everyone is trying to make their way over to get a plate or two. lol ha ha You're welcome, not a problem. Thanks for leaving feedback!
Your smothered potatoes w/shrimp and smoked sausage looks delightful Charlie! This is another recipe I will be trying in the near future. Thanks for giving us another classic dish!
Awesome! Happy to hear that the smothered potatoes turned out good. Yes you are right about that. You have a blessed day as well. Thanks for leaving feedback!
Charlie, you have done it once again. I plan to go to the grocery store in the morning just so I can cook this scrumptious dish! You've got me salivating! I can hardly wait. Thanks so much for sharing. 👏👏👏👍👍👍
I have never made this! I am 71, married 51 (almost) years, have done a LOT of cooking raising 3 kids with a ton of friends. Well, I never did a dish exactly like this. Will do this this week. I have a freezer full of this year’s shrimp! Charlie, you are the best!
This is comfort food to the fullest bro😎... Especially for the cold weather around this time of year... Well at least the cold weather where I live lol... Another great recipe☺... Looks scrumptious👍
I watched this video last night. Having just eaten a one pot meal just like this minus the shrimp and the Prudomes. It never occurred to me to use shrimp in it. I peel my potatoes and put them in cold salted water and they don't turn brown. This is the second time in a month I've heard about the vinegar thing and I'm 59 never heard of that before. I am new to canning and a woman soaks her potatoes in vinegar. Interesting I'm going to have to try that technique also. I see you have 73 thousand subs. So share this video people so we can get him that 100,000 play button for Christmas. Like, subscribe share and ring that bell. He's got great recipes.
Hello Deb! Oh yeah. Shrimp is a staple in New Orleans dishes! yes the vinegar thing is something I like to do. I do it with my potatoes, apples and carrots. I may try the cold salted water and see if that works as well. Yes I am getting up there and I am grateful for that! Thank you Deb for the compliments!
WOW,I know we eat to live, but you,my friend, make me live to eat! Impeccable, incomparable, simply the best!!Thanks again for sharing your skills,Blessings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello Mr. Charlie Andrews, Blessings to you always! Thank you for sharing another delicious easy recipe, I am going to try to prepare this right now!! I have everything, but the thyme, I hope mine comes out 1/2 , as good as your dish looks! Have a beautiful blessed Evening! 🤗🙏
I do believe this is an anytime dish. Morning, noon and night. Must try. I enjoy simple dishes. And you my dear makes cooking look easy and makes you want to cook.
That is definitely one recipe I'm going to try. One small suggestion there Charlie, you might want to mention, when using non-stick skillets pans Etc, always use wooden utensils. They will extend the life of the pan. Thank you for the recipe!!
Hi, Charlie. Your smothered taters turned out amazingly well. What are your favorite types of sausages when cooking on the stove? I wish you a very Merry Christmas, buddy.
Byron Chandler I really like Chappell Hill Garlic Smoked Sausage!! But I think it might be a regional thing. When I travel I find it impossible to get my hands on.
Charlie I love all your videos thank u so much for them !!!! And thanks for such a great attitude and good entertainment while making these videos ur going far !!!
I think maybe I'm watching long enough to dare to writing a comment. "I came for the cooking and stayed for the smile!" Have made many of your unusual recipes (which are EXTRA different here in holland) and we always enjoy them. Thank you. One small idea, if I may say it. We are vegetarian so many things we don't try. I don't say to change anything, but perhaps if you might could sometime suggest alternative ingredients for in your customary recipes, not only us, but other people will be helped. Many best wishes, and a happy holiday season. Thank you. Volkmaar van Waageningen
Hello there! Thank you so much for the compliments! It is amazing to be that far away watching my videos! I will be working on some vegan recipes soon! Happy Holidays to you too!!! :)

Hey Chawly!! You did it again!! These potatoes were delicious! I didn't have the shrimp this time, but it was still very good! Next time, I'll have shrimp and I'm sure it will be even more amazing!!
