This is really the best sawhorse design ever. If you need a strong foldable sawhorse, this is it. It took me awhile to figure out how to do it WITHOUT the plans but credit to this guy for starting it all: • Sawhorse "The Ultimate...
Although these plans are for sale, really with a little bit of patience, anyone can figure it out.
If I were to do it all over again, I'd use lighter wood. I used hard wood and it turned out to be really heavy! Unfortunately pine isn't widely available where I live. Next up is to build some attachments for this baby!
I have the Sketchup plans if anyone is interested: www.patreon.com/VincheroKarpi...
Let me know how it goes for you. Enjoy!

Vinchero this is an incredibly instructional video. I’ve been planning to build a couple of these for weeks. I cut my material today sure wish I’d seen your video first, the angles were driving me bonkers so I decided to see if anyone had made collapsing sawhorses on RU-vid and found yours. Thank you so much for taking the time to make such an informative video and following up with awesome plans.

Good afternoon Vinchero. Thanks for the plans! That's very kind of you - it was a lot of work creating this!

Hi, cool stuff! In your video you said the plans were available for free. Yet the download link you provided points to a site that charges 10 bucks. Can you send the plans please? Thanks!

Great design. I made a pair on the weekend. Took hours and every cut was a headache! That said, I now have a couple of amazing shopdogs and I love them! Thanks.

Vinchero, I commend you for figuring out all of the angles for these sawhorses and for acknowledging Grant Banash for the original design. I am also impressed with what you are able to accomplish without a fancy workshop. Thank you for showing the layout for the saw cuts. Showing the exact placement of the bolt holes would have been helpful.

I believe the compound miter angles were said to be 22.5° and 10°, not 25° . This might be of some help. But hey, at my age I can hear anything I want to hear, hehehehe....

Hi Vinchero, Thank you for these wonderful saw horses they're really great! BTW do you have any plans on making a workbench in the future? Thanks again man 👍👍👍

Great job👍. Nice use of the speed square! I wish you would have shown the placement of the bolt hole along the centerline, but, we can figure that out. I see you did another video; I’ll check it out. Oh, and I always find that people are much more interested in you and the natural sounds of your job than the music. Probably best if the music is so low that people don’t actually remember it was in the video. Let it set the mood for your video unconsciously and then disappear in their memories, leaving only your good video behind. Talk over your sped-up scenes.

The 4 legs need the miters and bevels going different directions on the tops and bottoms. don't take this as gospel but I've pulled out an old notebook and have: Leg 1 & 3 top: 25 right, 10 right Leg 1 & 3 bottom: 25 right, 10 left Leg 2 & 4 top: 25 left, 10 right Leg 2 & 4 bottom: 25 left, 10 left

Truly great idea but marking & cutting the angles would do my head in. I can' see how to make it simpler for the builder & If you don't have a miter saw ...................looks daunting!

This question is asked before I have started the project so I may be missing something but on each side of the horse, one leg sits inside the other. How then can the depth of the downward cut and/or the bevel cut that receives the cross member be the same for both of these paired legs?

I'll be making a set of these tomorrow. Just bought 4 saw horses from HF and they are junk. They will be going back. Way too light to support 6X6 timbers I am trying to cut scarf joints on to make 24' beams. Also way to narrow when you start rolling them around to do the layouts. LOL thanks for posting
@customcutter100

got the 3 sawhorses cut out today. Stopped at noon for lunch, and went to get the hardware to bolt and screw everything together. Rained this afternoon, so I'll get the holes drilled and bolt them up tomorrow. Took the saw horses back, and got a japenese hand saw, and circular saw blade sharpener instead.

I ordered the plans from Grant and attempted to make a set of these. I'm disappointed in my result. I've always had trouble with angles. Why did you switch from a 22.5 degree angle in the original Shop Dog to 25 degrees in yours. I'm gonna try again and use the speed square method you showed. Thanks for the video.
@VincheroKarpintero
@VincheroKarpintero 2 года назад
I wasn't aware the original plans were 22.5, I just went with 25 because it was what looked/felt right to me when I was mocking it up. Best of luck on your next attempt! :)

Do you have to rotate or flip around the legs at all when mitering/beveling? Or do you run them straight through?
@trevorelliston1

You can run them straight through then rotate them the right way once cut.

After watching several times, I think you have the best design on RU-vid. But I think you meant to say that the cross supports still need the 10 degree bevel not a 25 degree miter.
@NMranchhand
@NMranchhand 5 лет назад
Vinchi Sy-Quia Tyler’s are light but they’re one-trick ponies. They’re really simple shop stands. I mean, they have their place but yours can be work desks, miter saw stands, sheet goods cutting platforms (safe ones), and especially if you put a 2x6 in the jaw, they have a sacrificial cutting surface. If your not cutting through your sawhorses your neither being as safe nor as efficient as you can be :)
@Borescoped
@Borescoped 5 лет назад
I think I have to agree with NMranchhand, these, in this video, seem to be the best. Being able to drop in a 2x4 or sacrificial 2x6, or building a miter saw platform with a 2x4 attached underneath plywood w/ the saw mounted on top, or a thick sheet of plywood with foam insulation sacrificial surface, and 2 each 2x4’s mounted under the plywood for ripping sheet materials using 2 of these saw horses makes them infinitely more versatile. The capabilities of this design, even with the more complicated cuts needed to create this style, seems to be the best, at this time.

dont cut 4 leg with those setting..just 2..and for the others 2 legs you have to turn left to 25 degree angle... i've try this model...and something wrong when i cut all 4 leg with your setting...

Yes 100%, I've found out that you need a lot of different cuts. I have written down on a notebook: Leg 1 & 3 top: 25 right, 10 right Leg 1 & 3 bottom: 25 right, 10 left Leg 2 & 4 top: 25 left, 10 right Leg 2 & 4 bottom: 25 left, 10 left
