#Sunday Brunch time with Ruby Rose!
This week I make the #EASIEST overnight, no knead, whole wheat bread, all in my little boat galley. Seriously- if I can make #bread, anyone can- give it a #shot and let us know how it turns out!
RECIPE:
2 cups wholewheat flour
1 cup water
1/2 teaspoon dried active yeast
1 teaspoon salt.
Mix everything together in a bowl until it forms a wet dough. Cover it with cling film and leave 12-14 hours.
When it's doubled in size, turn out onto a floured surface and #shape. Let prove for another 30-40 #minutes, then pop into a hot oven for approximately 30 minutes. It's ready when, well, it looks #ready.

I follow a similar recipe with three cups of flower and a cup and a half of water and cook in my dutch oven at 450 for a half hour then take the lid off for 15 more min. what do you cook yours in? You can also slit or score the top with a very sharp knife which adds a nice touch and use egg white brushed on with then add sesame and or poppie seeds garlic or other toppings right before starting the baking for a nice twist.

Very easy, must try it. I’ve seen something similar that you might like to try. Swap out half the whole meal flour for plain, reduce the yeast a bit and replace some of the water with beer and honey - if you can bring yourself to not drink every last drop. I think stout might be the best due to its high yeast content. You end up with a different, more rustic taste. Another downside is that you might have open a new bottle and drink the rest - taking one for the team as it were..

That's real bread right there. It reminds me of some awesome bread we ate in a village, when we were on a fishing expedition. They had a small bakery in the village that used to make small bread just like this one. We went to the bakery every morning and bought it as it was still warm out of the oven. It was some of the most delicious bread I ever ate...

@@sailingrubyrose hi can it be left longer say if you couldn't bake could it be left in the fridge for another 8 or so hours ? I am guessing this will make it healthier too since it will be slowEr ferment

Love it. I bake all my own bread at home but have yet to make any while camping. I will do a test run tonight. And when I eat fresh baked bread in the Canadian mountains this summer, a bit of RubyRose will be with us. Just started making Kefir. I think it will do well camping as well. So it seems that I have miss placed the invitation to go traveling with you, the one that you never even dreamed of sending by the way but just the same. 450ºF for 30mins covered then 8-12 mins uncovered. At least that's what my recipe calls for in a dutch oven.
