How to Make the Pockets in Your Jeans Deeper 

This was just the *best!* Quick, easy & *functional* . I’ve been SO tired of the ‘baby-hand’ sized pockets on *all* of women’s pants for years now. This was the simplest method I’ve found, *THANKS!*

Why would anyone give this a thumbs down???? I would add, if you do not have a serger then sew an extra line 1/4 inch below first line across for added security.

This is my pet peeve. Jeans are more e expensive for women but no decent pockets! Phones are getting larger but pockets aren't. Thanks so much!!

This is a great tutorial! I tried following another one the second time I did this and it was so confusing because the tutor skipped steps and failed to film certain very difficult steps. She included French seams (that’s OK it’s nice to have that finishing touch and they are easy to do) but there were other tailoring aspects that were absolutely unnecessary, making for a beautiful finish for the parts that no one ever sees, including you unless you turn your jeans inside out. I used that tutorial halfway and then came back to yours, which I had already used once. But I’ve got to say that in the four pockets I have finished with your method, I have always had to finish off by hand around the side seam of the jeans. I just can’t maneuver my sewing machine close enough up to the seam. I will try again on another pair and see if I can navigate that seam better!

Also when i extend my pockets i allow seam allowance to attach to outer jean seam. This way they dont pull out

Thanks for your video! But one question...why not leave the fold on the bottom of the pocket? (makes more secure I think but maybe not?) Is there a reason not to do it this way?

love This Video. as A guy I like deep pockets too. a regular mens pocket is about 9 inches deep. I like 15 inches deep. especially on pants I use for traveling makes for anti pickpocket and anti accidental loss. is this a service you would provide by mail??

If not serging, sometimes a zig zag stitch works too
