I love how quickly she gets right to her process without excess talking. I stopped eating pugs, cows, dairy , and vegetable oil 50 yrs ago. I'm 73 now with no health challenges. Don't let anyone tell you that taking good care of yourself when yr young, won't pay off wonderfully when your golden years arrive.
I really appreciate that you show yourself cleaning your produce. I remember when I was a kid watching cooking shows, I thought chefs just didn't wash their herbs or greens or produce. Love your videos!
I always thought chefs just didn’t want to waste our time showing the obvious. Sucks that some folks ONLY show the washing because they know that there are those that assume the worst when they don’t include it in a video that’s not even representative of 10% of the actual processing time.
So I literally had never had mushrooms or cooked with them before yesterday. But, I heard the CRUNCH from your friend chicken and had to try. Y'all. Please try that recipe. It had no reason being that good.
Try making a vegan burger with blended oats but blend it so it turns into a mill/powder and add seasoning, peppers, onions, and mushrooms. My GOODNESS! Its sooooo tasty!

Fried food, flour, and sugar? Vegan is free of animal anything, but it can be just as unhealthy as foods made with meat. Mind you, you CAN make healthy vegan food (just as you can make healthy carnivore food), but flour, sugar, and frying, ain’t it.

My 12 year old daughter made the chicken, mac-n-cheese & greens. They were absolutely amazing & recipes were easy for her to follow. I fell in love with the vegan cheese sauce. Now if I can learn how to use it in baked mac-n-cheese it would be heaven because I like crisp edges & top. Thanks for sharing💜

I made the greens, mac n cheese, cornbread and "fried chicken" and it was delicious! I used both oyster mushrooms and portobello caps. The oyster mushrooms were better, but both were good. The cornbread was excellent! The mac n cheese sauce was great. This was my first time making a vegan meal and I was so shocked that it was flavorful and great. Will be making this again.

I’ve never seen the use of soap. I’d be so scared that the soap taste would penetrate the greens somehow especially during the soaking. What type do you use that is safe for food?
@@Themsbeatlesrock its the same food just no animal products. I been a pescatarian for 3 and 1/2 years but most of my food is plant base and gluten free. We eat the same just no meat and no dairy.. but seasonings are the same
I'm black and love to cook & my boyfriend is white and has celiac disease. He can't have gluten, sugar, corn and a bunch of other things I grew up eating. I've been cooking more meals for him but I always felt that he wouldn't get to enjoy good soul food. THANK YOU SO MUCH! Already feel a ring on my finger😅😅😅
Portobello mushrooms for fried chicken sounds soooooo delicious! I never would have thought to replace chicken with Portobello mushrooms, as I always heard that people will replace beef with Portobello. I don't know why it never dawned on me to use it to replace chicken with Portobello! I gotta give it a try sometime! Brilliant

Long time subbie here and although I DO hit the LIKE button, I don't think I've ever commented on your videos. Thought it was time I finally told you not only did you inspire me to start doing my own hair when I went natural and showed me how to install my own crochet braids, etc., you've inspired me towards a more plant-based diet. I'm not completely there, yet, because your girl loves bacon (the real stuff, no substitutes LOL), but I want to at least cut down on the processed mess we've been conditioned to put into our bodies. In one of your videos you mentioned making the transition using condiments and that is working for me. I've already tried vegan mayo, which is now part of my staples, and my cholesterol levels finally went down. Just tried that vegan cheese you mentioned in your last video and, as a major cheese lover, it passed the test of making me feel like I was eating the real deal. Recently purchased nutritional yeast and it was so good sprinkled on some garlic bread. So, thank you for the content you are putting out. It's making a difference in many of our lives. I'm definitely going to look into thrive market so I can transition into more organic eating. In case you have people wishing for just your hair content, know that your vegan cooking videos appeal some of us, as well. Please don't stop making them. Will definitely be getting that cookbook! I fool my kids all the time. I even fooled a few grown folks. 🤣🤣🤣 but I use daiya in the box and add my own spin to it. I’m going to try this way one day.
I have no words at this very moment. My sweetheart and I are slowly moving toward a vegan lifestyle so I have been researching recipes. My only concern is WE love soul food. OMG! We get to enjoy soul food and it still has flavor. I can't wait to try these recipes. Agreed 🙂We should say a prayer over our meals regardless even if its to say thanks for the food cause many go hungry every day... organic is best for sure but we never know what kind of microscopic things are lingering that can harm us.
I'm late to the party. I just ordered your cookbook (as an eBook, since the hard cover is sold out)! I didn't know that you had a cookbook. I'm making the cornbread and mac and cheese TODAY, to go with some steamed broccoli and a big salad. The rest I will save for another day.
Now that's what I'm talking about, I use vinegar & salt to wash my greens and I always pick out the stems, because for some reason the bag greens always have a lot of stems in there.
I tried making the vegan fried chik'n tonight and it was delicious! I threw my own little spices in there, but used the same technic. I ate all of it! It was very comforting. I am trying to work on whatever I am making my family for dinner, creating the same thing just vegan. I also tried the chick peas scramble because I don't care for tofu. So good! Super easy to make, but so good. I am so glad I found your channel.
Mushrooms were my fav ! Mac & Cheese , greens legit! I have to get use to potatoes not being extra buttery but it’s tolerable. Cornbread was sweet to me like cake. Everything taste better then expected so buying your cookbook!!

I am not vegan, but I wanted to do more vegan meals. I tried your fried chi'ken and cheese sauce. The chicken was slaptastic! The cheese sauce tasted like nacho cheese. So I ended up using it for my nachos. I seasoned black beans with taco seasoning and chopped up my left over chi'ken and layered it. I think if vegan food was this good when I was younger, I probably would have gone vegan a long time ago. Thank you so much!
