Thanks! Could you do me a favor? Can you point me in the right direction to buy the type of RCA connector I would use to just crimp onto the end of RG-6 cable?
www.amazon.com/PCT-Connector-Universal-Compression-Fittings/dp/B00789H3VK/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8 This is a COMPRESSION fitting though. They don't make a crimp RCA connector (at least I don't think they do). This means you need a compression tool to put it on.
I have this exact set up in my new home and I want to connect it to my subwoofer, PLEASE where can I get the "f connector to rca " cable already made ?!?!! Thanks so much !! need this asap
Good question. You can if you'd like but it's not necessary. The wall is 3.5" thick so you can just use a straight connector and let the wire bend in the wall. I've never had a problem and I've installed hundreds of these.
Not yet. I actually hadn't even considered such a thing until I saw your video. I've been following SuperDave and his Dolby Atmos build for ideas going into a new home. I'm super excited to get some tools and start playing and learning.
did he state that when I'm looking at a RJ45x faceplate. What he should have said is exactly what you said. But also stating that the connectors that he's pointing at are RJ45x in the faceplate. And the faceplate are not universal the same period.
@@leecm I'm not sure if I understand the question. A subwoofer cable is an RCA style cable. RCA is the slip-on type of connector that I'm putting on the RG6 cable. This should be the video you are looking for. Feel free to email me at alan@youdoav.com with questions.
@@AlanCleggYouDoAV Didn't you connect an F-connector to the cable? The plug I was hoping you would be attaching to the cable (and what the title of the video led me to believe you were demonstrating) is the RCA style plug that is already connected to the other end of the cable you're working with in the video.
@@leecm ah. Now I understand the question. Thank you for clarifying. I should have made it clearer and maybe I should make another video to clarify. There is absolutely no difference in the process. Putting on an F connector or RCA or BNC or whatever is the same- same tools, same cable, same process. The only difference is the connector. There is no other difference. Instead of putting on an F connector, like I did. Just put on an RG6 to RCA compression connector and use the same tool to compress it on. Use the same stripper in the same way as well.
