Watched this some time ago when I was a new player. I wanted to see if I there were any tips I hadn't incorporated into my usual storage grooming and culling. Nope, I am using all your tricks! They are very helpful! Thanks.
Food for thought: shadow Golbat and Zubat are the cheapest to purify for when you have the Giovanni research and I seek them out/ hold them for that reason.
Using text replacement (on iOS: Settings>General>Keyboard>Text Replacement), I made it so whenI type "badcp", it changes it to 0*,1*,2* (and I don't have to switch between keyboards to get the number, astrix, and comma). Sorting by recent, I can delete every new poke that comes up knowing it isn't better than 80%. This leaves a much smaller amount to clean through that are 82% or better. Similarly, I have made text replacements for PVP relevant pokemon (i.e., skarmory, maril, shieldon, nosepass, swablu, etc.) so I can check them first for perfect pvp IVs.
We mark our Pokemon to trade with -- (minus minus) and then use a character for where we caught it. Like --L , --N , --W (London, New York, Wales, for example) . We use --egg for egg hatched Pokemon we want to trade. We always put an abbreviation for the moveset at the end of all our Pokemon used for raids. Like SB for shadow ball, or DP for dynamic punch, which makes it easy to get the right teams set up quickly.
Yeah.. I have a Lucky of Each Hat-Chu.. Some Multiple Lucky... I try to keep about 5 of each in case someone wants one eventually... But, it is difficult.. Lol
My mom paid be $40 to go through her Pokémon and it took HOURS because of the # of event Pokémon she had! TIP: Transfer event Pokemon (especially event Pikachu besides the new one) as you catch them. Every 20 minutes stop and check through them and delete the ones you don’t wanna keep. Other than that, awesome video with great tips :)
I dont have many friends, and nobody in my area does raids, so i havent been able to take down any legendary raids and my only legendaries are from GO battle league and research breakthroughs :(
Thanks for the video I kept my Pokémon storage at the bare minimum no upgrades until I hit level 40 I’ve been level 40 for a few months now and have since bought upgrades and it still kept it pretty manageable but you did give me some new ideas and I did get some stuff transferred
I love that you encourage transferring extra shinies. So many people simply will not transfer a shiny, no matter how useless. I send them to the grinder without any guilt! My play style is to catch all day, and at the end of the day search 4*, transfer everything that isn't a hundo, a shiny, or something worth trading.
Thank you for the tips! I had a hoarding problem and kept at least one of every Pokemon. This video helped me to let go and I went from 1114 to 897! Much needed!
Hey! Love your videos! The way I deal with Pokémon that I use to raid is adding letters for their attack types that way I can quickly find what attacks I'm looking for. Eg: E is electric and W for Water, so a Lanturn with those attacks would be a WE or EW, the second letter is the charge move. Works for me haha!
With ComDay shinies, if in an active group and no one has asked for them by the time the next ComDay rolls around - transfer them. With Shadow Pokémon purifying Rats, Bats and Karp hardly costs anything @ D1,000, considering you get D600+ dust when catching it - so why not purify them all to speed up process to get the badge and extra balls.
Thank you so much 😊 I was struggling to manage my pokemon storage, I was storing all the com day shinies and stacking on multiple high IVs pokemons that I didn't needed.
I've always struggled with space, but having ~60 free space now has been great- I've managed to keep it around that for a few weeks now. I'm pretty sentimental, but something I've decided, is, even though high IVs are cool/great to have, I'm prioritising ones I've actually caught in the wild, over ones I've traded. So, I might have a 96% traded, but my 93 was caught in the wild (and it's not a pokemon I absolutely looove), so I'll screenshoot that 96% for a 'memory', then transfer it. I also like older mons, so prefer them over newer ones, even if cp/iv is similar. Something else that hasn't been mentioned, is location pokemon! What I did pre-travelling, was to stack rewards with good IV/shiny mons. That way, instead of having to keep any random mon from a new city/place I was visiting, I'd be able to just catch that 96-100% mon in my research, and have that location checked off
Everyone plays differently. Maybe you only have 10 total legendaries. I’m not going to suggest you transfer them. But when someone else has done 700+ legendary raids they sure as hell should be.
i deleted 100+ shinys the other day. no one needs loads of com day shiny poke's. i hold legendary pokemon like mewtwo or ray but the others get minced as well
Legendaries are not very legendary in Pokémon Go. It's too expensive to walk them, they eat up rare candy, and you can't even use them for gym battles. Most people transfer or trade over 95% of their legendaries, looking for good IV ones. They pile up and you won't power up every single legendary you caught. Most people do legendary raids mostly for the rewards and not the legendary Pokémon. Wafu raid style involves a lot of running away from legendaries if they are not shiny or 100%. For shinies, they are just a different color and you don't need 10+ shinies of a single Pokémon. And you end up hoarding many of them hoping to trade them away for someone who never shows up to get them anyway.
IV combinations are pretty important to me, so I like to leave the IV combination as the Pokemon's nickname in a lot of cases (i.e., if the 'mon has 15 attack, 14 def, 13 hp, it'll get nicknamed "15/14/13" ...). It's easy to mass transfer from there, because I can select any Pokemon that don't have a desirable IV combination. I'll often search and transfer all 0*/1* (unless looking for PVP Pokemon), then go in and do the label transfer. The labeling also helps me find decent Pokemon quickly, for putting in gyms/fighting rocket stops, etc.
Love how you liken the Favorite button to a Child Lock - Pity it doesn’t stop you from doing other things though. I once accidentally evolved a horrible Magikarp (low level, bad iv).
Thank you Zoe for the ideas!!! I normally go through my pokemon and check the appraisal on each one, or a specific one, as well as male and female. Then, I transfer the ones that do not have the best I've. But, when it comes to shinies, I'll evolve even if they are not the best ivs, just cause. You rock, Zoe!!!
I did keep every tangela for a while 🤣 I've cut down to perfect and oldest. I like using the ❤️ emoji and fun names so sometimes I have to remember if they're raid or PvP but I don't mind.
I don’t enjoy pvp so I don’t keep Pokémon based on that but I enjoy keeping Pokémon from every city I go to! I’m currently collecting 1 Pokémon from each USA state capital:)
NB - Before transferring anything YOU Should keep old ones with Legacy Moves! Your system is close to mine, I've figured this out acouple months into the game & it has still held true to today [#(name) = 100%][$(name) = 90-98%IV] [&(name) = 80-89%][/(name) = 70-79%] [!(name) = Evolve] or [!!(name) = Evolvex2)] [TT(name) = Trade] [TG(name) = Trade Global(no local)] [TL(name) = Trade Lucky (+1Yr old] Child lock is great! Also I tend to only keep high CP (even low iv) poke to trade. I hope this helps others...or proves I'm just crazy overly organized. Always appreciate an Aussie representing us in this wonderful world wide game! Your an amazing person! AWSUM stuff in last Safari Zone event! THX for making this video before x2 candy Halloween Event 2019 ends! Kristaki06 from Perth WA
Wow, I really needed this video. I really need to do a DEEP cleanse in my storage because I save so many Pokémon for semi-sentimental reasons and I need to make decisions. This is going to hurt... :'(
I occasionally deep clean a generation of Pokemon at a time. Then I know that I don't need to keep any new repeat Pokemon from that generation unless it is a relevant IV combination. I am slowly becoming comfortable transferring shinies and Legendaries. My costume Pikachu collection is the largest and I am fine with that.
I used to keep a living dex with the best IV of each Pokèmon that I had seen, now I'm really ruthless, I delete all non-meta mons unless shiny, 100IV or 96+ lucky... No more storage issues 🙂
Thanks Zoe, I was flipping through my stuff using my method Which is to search 0*&!Shiny Then go through all my 0 star guys and make sure they sever a purpose Then 1*&!Shiny Same as above 2*&!Shiny Same as above 3*&!Shiny Same as above 4* Same as above However Unlike you I cannot name my pokemon for categories, I wouldn't ever name my cat # or Dot 100% So for example my 100% pokes currently are Anne - Weezing (which I caught from a raid today and discovered while watching your video) Rhuel - Dragonite Harrydile - Mawile Professor X - Metagross and Minnie - Primeape Named for Anne of Denmark, Wife of James I and VI Chromium Rhuel - The Elder Dragon of Ledgends fame The fact his hair looks like a crocodile He has a big X on his face The only Female Chimp trained for Nasa's Astro Chimp program (and the Mate of the eventual space chimp HAM) Now for example lets look at Community day pokemon using an example from a starter family (Where Male Female ratio is 8:1) and a Non starter family where M/F ratio is 1:1 (S)hadow, (L)ucky, (W)illow, (F)emale Bulbasaur Family Shallott, -> Crocus - > Garlic, Onion, Endor(L), Slaan(S), Tulip(W), Holland(F) Shiny Bulbasaur Family LED -> Edison ->Tungston(F) Mareep Family Ewey(F), T Woll -> 640Kb -> Phillip, Shaun Shiny Family PInky(F), Mutton Candy -> Sue Ellen(F) -> André-Marie as you can clearly see the Bulbasaur family (excluding Slaan) are all named for things associated with Bulbs and the Shiny Family are all things related to "Bulbs" As for the Mareep Ewey is a Ewe, T Woll is aquired by Beating Sheep Man in megaman 10, 640Kb is More than enough RAM for anyone, Phillip Dreams of electric Sheep, and Shaun is just a sheep Pinky is Pink, Mutton Candy Looks like Cotton Candy but is made of Mutton, Sue Ellen is for Sue Ellen Ewing Wife of John Ross Ewing Jr., and André-Marie is for André-Marie Ampier for whom the Amp, and thus Ampharos is named. I know each serves a purpose because I took the time to name them... Anything with no name Serves no purpose I tend to keep a full family Shiny and non shiny of Community day pokes, Plus a male and female of any pokes who have gender differences, Pikachu, Butterfree, Venusaur, Meganium etc. any pokemon which are 100% or 0%, Most baby forms, Regionals from here in case i go somewhere, My full set of Generation 1 In game trade pokemon (SPOT, DUX, CRINKLES, SAILOR, LOLA, TERRY, MARC, and MARCEL), Plus all my EX raid pokes since I don't EX super often. Also Tulip is the ONLY Buddy my character has ever walked outside of walking evolutions 1695.1 KM walked. Because the Vorthos side of me says why would my character walk with any pokémon that wasn't his starter pokémon given to him by professor willow on 7/11/2016
For those who just CAN NOT transfer a pokemon despite it not serving a purpose, try trading it! I find that I can't transfer a pokemon but I'm okay with trading it to someone else who can do whatever they want with it and I would never know. Very helpful.
My method is I’m pretty ruthless. I transfer everything that isn’t useful or shiny. As for legendaries, I keep just the 3 best IV I get (it maximum of 6 if it’s a super useful legendary ie shadow ball mewtwo). Been at 750 storage since 2017 and haven’t felt the slightest need to upgrade whatsoever
My favorite organization trick is to name things I’m trading for distance “OS” for out of state/country followed by where it’s from. That way if I’m just looking to get extra candies I can search OS but if I’m looking for something more specific, I can specify.
Some Gen 1 Pokemon duplicates I have with 3 star IVs are transferred to my Pokemon Let's GO Pikachu and eventually made it to Pokemon Sword through HOME.
is it more efficient in practice to have distance trades labelled with their specific location than using the distance search filter (not sure how many people know this, we literally only were told recently, but if you type, for example, “distance1000-“ in the search bar, it shows you everything you have from at least 1000km away)? also if you have a huge number of regionals from the ultra bonus, or even world tourism day, ask around if anyone wants to try to get them lucky, much better than an immediate transfer
I prefix all my trades with $ followed by a 2 or 3 character abbreviation of their location. That way I can quickly find distance trades with my wife because I can already clearly see where each of our Pokemon were captured.
There's rumours that transferred Pokémon go straight to Team Rocket and now Zoë is making a video encouraging you to clean out your Pokébox wearing a Team Rocket sweater.. You're not fooling anyone, Rocket Grunt Zoë
Ooh another one, the cloud emoji works to name things. I'll keep a half dozen fully weather boosted meta relevant Pokemon on hand to help new players (when I do have time to be active on discord I usually head up the raid train for casuals who want to walk slow). The stardust cost of trading someone a lvl 35 Machamp with the best moves is negligible and I have a team already so the candy cost isn't a big deal.
I keep one of each Pokémon plus it’s evolvements plus it’s shiny variant or shadow version if it has one. Needless to say I’ve had to pay to upgrade my storage a few times but my Pokédex is super full so I’m happy.
I do sort to most recent and then filter for !4*&!3* to get all with bad IVs and transfer them. Then I filter for „hatched“ and since they are all the same level you can simply transfer the ones with lower CP without having to check everyone for IVs.
Round two. ( I just type out a big about just to have it vanished) I am keeping the first catch, hatch, Raid (with their number, shiny (all level and gender for final, lucky (final), 100,zero. That is for normal Pokémon Legendary first three during the first showing Another during the second Shinies max of five 100% ( only one unless they are relevant) Mythical keeping all but staring the first four. (I am thinking there might be trading for mythical in the future but it would have to be something special to be able to trade it.) PvP keeping one unless legacy move set or multiple move set could be used for it. Vulpix/ninetails they are to keep track of areas I have been or where I have gotten an egg from. That is it. I am having to go through my Pokémon about 50 dex number at a time to keep it clean up. I had trade stuff I was saving but no one is hitting me up for them, they are restricted to ten to save. Same with regionals
i went through my storage day b4 Halloween event started. marked almost 700 to transfer, plus almost 200 legendarys. no have sooo much space :) ps. i marked around 300 for trade too
Love this vid Zoe!! Needs to go viral bc the storage issue is biggest complaint I hear everywhere. But I don’t understand it.....my storage is 1470 currently 🤷♀️ but I’m also not afraid to send a Pokémon to the professor. I ended up with 3 perfect absol during that event it was In research. Well I can’t evolve it, I can’t trade it....sooooo yeah I removed the 2 extra hundo absol bc they just didn’t serve a purpose. 👍 I still need to clean out some shinies from resent com days but I’m ok for right now on storage 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼awesome vid gonna share within my local groups for sure.
Should we set aside ones for pokemon bank or just send to switch and deal with later, also anyone know which can be sent to bank when it is live or will it be like Let's Go and only first 151?
I feel very uneasy seeing how you transfer some Pokemon so easily 0.0 It's all good. I guess everyone plays the game differently. Appreciate your tips :D
This was really helpful. It would be nice to get more "how to" videos, and it be even better if somehow you could "file" them in a different place, they get lost in the GOFEST vid and such! Thank you for your help!
@@ZoeTwoDotss And you did it! Thanks so much. Since I have your attention, those of us who are newer, and maybe picked the game up first time, would love to know more about things like the "TM's" when to use and how. Details that maybe more experienced players know, but take for granted. Again, thanks for your help! :)
I use text replacement with a code to filter out the important Pokémon. As "!" filters out anything you search for, you can also add other filters to the code. For example, I use this code: !shiny&!4*&!3* for a general cleanup. It filters out all my shinies, 100 IV's and everything with a 3* rating. This shows you all 0*-2*, not shiny pokemon that can eventually be deleted after reconsideration. I hope it helps anyone out! :)
I had the notice that my space was full, and bought a bigger capacity bag with coins. Now, it isn’t showing up on my character or in my items. How can I find it?
Almost all optimal Great League PVP IVs will be a 0, 1, or 2 attack value. So, 0/14/15 or 0/15/15 or sometimes the best IV for GL PVP will be something odd like 4/12/15 (but not very often). In other words, you are not going to hatch many ideal Great League PVP fighters, since the minimum hatch IV is 10/10/10 (same as raids)... you have to catch them in the wild or trade for them.
I only keep 3* and 4* pokemon. I will keep a 2* pokemon only if I don't have anything better of that pokemon yet. For the hatted pikachu: I only keep one of each. I might end up transferring them if they aren't decent IVs. I just transferred all of my extra legendaries a few days ago. If I get too many 3* of the same pokemon, I keep only the ones that have a 15 of either attack, defense or hp.
Fabulous tips, as always! 😎👍 One of the things I love to do is label the ones for trade with my trainer name followed by the city, state or country where they are from. This way I can search by my trainer name, making it easy for the person I’m trading with to scroll through and see what they’d like. Also I know exactly how far away they are. Plus the added benefits of 1)the receiver knows who it’s from without renaming and 2)they get the city name in kanji if it’s a Japanese one. 😉 Now, would someone trade with me, please!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻☺️
I go by number order and delete any duplicate that aren’t a rare shiny so I have atleast of each Pokémon/form/special. So I can be able to pull out any Pokémon I need for that right GoSnap photo!
Type in 0*,1*,2* all of them you can delete, but someone’s are collecting pkm with 0iv (look at all 0*). With crypto&3* you may can find 100%. But I have also problems with full storage, to many pkm that you can perhaps trade to get a better one 😅
Pokemon that max out under 1500, need perfect IV's Medicham, Sableye, and Pachirisu are a few examples. Also Pokemon that max out near 1500 need good IV's Deoxys (Defense), Bastiodon, and Azumarill need good IV's.
I was excited to learn something with this video...then I realized I've been doing everything she's suggesting! Lol. At least I know I'm doing things correctly! 😄❤🧡💛
Overall good advice though. Sure, catch lots of hat pikachus... they count toward your pikachu fan medal too... but - really - how many ash hat pikachus do you need to keep?
I have kept all my squirtle so far just for it being my favorite pokemon, however while cleaning up others from gen 5 just found out I caught a 100% patrat a week ago 🤣
