1) be honest, transparent & straight fwd 2) interesting & interested 3) believe that you can make a sale on every call 4) identify & solve problem 5) be logical & structure 6) be respectful & memmorable 7) prepare script
To respond to some of these comments: in order to never lose that motivational drive you must always have new, almost untouchable, goals. Not unrealistic goals but real ones that enthuse you. Goals that make you jump out of bed and not want to leave work right when the clock hits whenever you get off. Losing motivation is human nature but it is weak. Get rid of your excuses and show yourself and others what you're made of.
The telephone is the best marketing tool. People buy from people. That's how I built my multi-million dollar business. The more calls you make the more money you make.
Sales is easy when you are selling something the prospect is already paying money for. Selling social media services is a great way to make extra money and a full-time income.
+mysterymediacorp relationship building and service. First to market and first to buy usually sticks. That's why McDonald's sells happy meals, and gelette sends you a free razor at 18.

This is so legit, I can't believe what you said Grant! It is so true that phone calls should be cold calls mostly, and I realized every person I talked to over the phone seemed to not be interested whenever you ask them how they are, even with close people you call. The call as you said, goes straight to being cold. It really is about business and getting information. Not for casual chatter, these people aren't your bf/gf. Cheers!
Im still in the video watching, maybe I havent gotten to that point - but you dont ask them how they are doing? Is the result better? Makes sense to me, just curious as to results
People always get asked how they are doing it's boring and just another cold caller. I have had people do this to me, and I get turned off cos they don't really care
if the first phone call was made to watson, does that mean watson had the second phone? and how much did his phone cost? did powerlines get built before the first phone was invented? and what was watson's number? 1? lmao
Thank you so much for this wisdom grant. You talk about how when you were 25 listening to tapes and watching videos. I'm 25 and I watch YOUR videos and listen to you on my way to work- coming home from work- and on my off days. I own my own clothing business, and i used to be homeless- I did it thru drive and hard work- and I came across you for a reason, now I need to know how to sell and you came into my cyber world at the perfect time. Thank you
Which ever medium you choose to make money on, be sure to GRIND it out to max and learn as much as you can the skills necessary to prosper from it. What would be the point to be just ok at something when you can be the best? #coachMP
I LOVE Grant and maybe I'm wrong BUT if he said the average phone call costs about $33 and it takes 8-12 (10 average) to close a transaction, that's $330. Or, the cost of that very same 1 in person visit he just finished mentioning in those statistics.
He is stereotypical sales guy. I think he works hard. But I dont like that he is always trying to sell something. Its outdated sales mythology. You should stop being so anti social media GC as social media is good to you.
Not a fan of all the fake scarcity going around nowadays so here’s something you can use TODAY to make more sales over the phone. (Perfect for agency owners, consultants & coaches). First, forget your damn script. It’s 2020, and scripts just aren’t as effective as they were back in the golden days of 2016. Your prospect is likely too sophisticated to fall for the “what does X mean for you, John?” & “why do you want to fix that?”. In this day and age.. you actually have to LISTEN to what they’re saying ...so you can accurately diagnose their situation. And your script ..which is based on HOPING your prospect says “X”... so you can hit them with the perfect “Y” is not gonna help you do that. Your script has you banking on them replying with certain words ..but if they don’t answer the question how your script “tells you” they should...then what? I’ll tell you what happens.. Your entire call collapses because you spent all your time learning the “perfect script”...rather than the perfect FRAMEWORK. With scripts..you’re hoping for a specific answer..at a specific time... With frameworks.. you’re listening for THE BEST answer...all the time! Which is why you need to ditch the got damn scripts .. And start learning the proper frameworks that get your prospects inspired to say YES to your offer because they feel understood & empowered (rather than manipulated & bullied). 💪🏾 Super Simple Framework you can use below: •Open the Call/ Set Agenda •Discover What Motivated Them To Hop On •Discover What Challenges They’re Facing •Discover What Pain That’s Causing •Uncover Where They Want To Go •Why They Aren’t There Already •Confirm If It All Makes Sense So Far •Acknowledge The Gap •Commitment And that’s it! Don’t spend so much time learning the “perfect script” that you miss the opportunity to learn the PRINCIPLES they’re actually built on. Once you learn these, you can (ethically) sell anything to anybody. Hope this helps! (Feel free to reach out with any questions) 🙏🏾
150 phone calls a day? Are the employees that are making those being compensated with a portion of commission? What’s the drive for them, aside from the paycheck?
1. Earn the right to pitch in first 20 seconds of DM answer. 2. Ask the right questions upfront. 3. Secure agreement at several junctures through conversation. 4. Secure agreement to recieve quote (costs nothing to review, etc.). 5. Present quote and map back to #2. and close.
If your e-mail isn't get a response, use the phone. I did this today; it works! “The phone saves time and money...You need scripts laid out for each one of those phone calls.”
+jessica brown - i have friends that did this, they made great money by throwing parties. it was a hit or miss, and can get expensive if you provide snacks and drinks.
It is usually old people that are the customers of phone sells companies. Their the only ones that answer the phone. They keep you the phone talking about their aches and pains . Tell you all about Trump and then not want anything your calling about.
I'm a department manager with a large purchasing budget and I simply don't answer my phone unless I recognize the caller. Uknown number? Voicemail. I will never return a cold call ever. I may go to your webpage to learn about your product or service, but I'll never ever call the salesperson back.
this makes perfect sense. I came from a company where the phone was used extensively. I am at a new company where the industry is totally different, the proposals are more intricate. Yet they have a telephone team called ''account manager'' its actually a telesales consultant making cold calls to apparently ''active accounts''. I needed to change my mind set that these are not ''active account's'' but just a database of contacts. This video has helped me get back to the reality that cold calling is what needs t be done. Thank you for this
I do not know how but I know its done in my real estate business...one man army of sellers. Like he says, "lets do this...." to the next business level from zero.
I'm a better closer. End of.. Try selling a product nobody wants... try selling a product they will never use...try selling a product that is worst than every product on planet earth...welcome to timeshare Tenerife..rock and roll 80s, 90s but died in 2005 RIP
i think what he tells about sales people who says: how you doin? the reason for a call.." is about the script use by Jordan Belfort. For me Grant is pretty insecure with him as for my opinion. Yet Grant want to compete with Jordan as a Sales trainer/motivational speaker.
I'm 19 and just got my first sales job, selling a lead generation / referral program to auto dealerships across the US. I have all of your books and have Cardone U. You're truly inspiring and have motivated me to do what I'm doing today. Thanks Uncle G!
Hi Grant...thanks so much. I am a financial Planner. New at the game. So im.relying mostly om cold calls. Its very difficult. So thanks for this...i want to get more Investors to manage investments as i.do believe thats where the money is at....i will be watching your feeds. Thanks....
What phone call "meat" was shared here? Grant, you talk too much about yourself but don't deliver any meat on this RU-vid. I don't care that you're arrogant but you just wasted 19:13 of my time. That I do care about.
Hi Grant, My names Lewis and im based in the UK and reason I am reaching out to you today is because I recently started a sales job yesterday. Today was my first actual day on the phones cold calling for which I had no experience whatsoever yet I rang 187 people in a single day yet your people only ring around 150?? Dude why aint I working for you? I generated 26k worth of sales on my first day as a phone salesman with no training. HIRE ME!
interesting. this was 2015. i just got back into sales. my company does not promote prospecting on the phone. their strategy is all door knocking. i used the phone to prospect and set appointments in outside sales in 2008. i asked my manager about using the phone and he said he doesn't know anyone who is using the phone to prospect/sell and being successful. with technology today with most people never even answering and just letting all their unrecognized calls go to voicemail you can't get anyone on the phone anymore. i would like to know what Grants opinion is regarding phone sales today? or anyone else out there in inside sales?
I'd like to see more on how telephones are more effective today. Part of me doesn't quite believe this. The time it takes for me to secure a telephone lead in my industry, compared with the ease of social media and prospecting a client here, seems to outweigh the benefit. I agree fully that telephones are the most *effective* form of sales communication, however I'm concerned about its feasibility in today's market. The average person does not make 8 calls a day.
I get about 4-5 calls a day of people trying to sell me something. I no longer answer the phone unless it's a caller ID I know. I bet Grant doesn't answer his phone 4-5 times a day and talk with sales people.
In real world only if negotiating and closing a sale from a cold call was that easy, there will be little or no sales vacancies advertised cos all sales staff would have their jobs secured due to constantly hitting targets or sales staff would never quit cos the continue rejections and stress of sales jobs.
He's selling the oldest scam in the book. "Buy his product/service, and you'll get rich!!!" If he could really sell, he'd sell a product, not a pipe dream!
I have never listened to you before Grant and I do sales training for F&I and sales around the Gulf States Toyota region. Was at a big dealership today and they said that Im like Grant Cardone! I just looked at some of your stuff and your amazing man! Off the hook bro Im going to listen to you in the car on my long drives and use some of your stuff in my classes. you da man bra!
Does your company need a mobile app to improve sales? You would be amazed the ROI you can get on a custom mobile app. email me. Ryan@apogeeapplications.com
Selly Automotive CRM is probably the worst choice for a car dealer due to it's lack of Lead Automation capabilities. ADF/XML feed that this CRM is relying on requires a 3rd party integration. In this day and age when 90% of car dealers using Facebook advertising in their customer acquisition strategy, no way this CRM is useful, because every Lead has to be entered manually and processed by the sales team manually, without ANY automation whatsoever. Selly CRM is good for Sales Teams used to manual labour and lots of hard work, trying to locate when and where the lead has come from.Technical support is pretty much absent and non-responsive. Toll free number is not working. For the amount of money this CRM is asking to pay small car dealers, a lot more can be done to simplify Lead Generation process.
I have been watching this guy's videos because of the many likes he has got. But he just cant convince me on anything. He sounds so artificially enthusiastic about everything. I know he is very rich and sells probably like hell, but I dont think he would be able to sell me a candy. It is so difficult to trust him. and he seems so unaware of his style's impact on others. Im a high D (dominant) style myself, but this guy is too much. What am I missing? He is so successful. What am I not seeing in him?
Listening to this on MARCH 23 2021. Pandemic times, this video was posted 5 years ago and SO RELEVANT right now!! Thank you uncle G 🙏 can I have a script to book appointments for realtors?? Hahaha love you and Elena ❤️
What I always keep thinking:“ no one’s ever gonna buy something from me on the phone because they don’t know me, they don’t trust me and hat’s why they will never buy or even give me their credit card data on the phone!“ that’s why I think this way! I‘d never buy anything on the phone because there are so many scammers out there. How can I handle this mindset problem?
Uncle G! Are you still looking for people to fill up any and all positions on your team? I have experience as a sales rep, sales assistant and associate and am open to any other and all opportunities( personal secretary, social media promotion, events coordinator,- you name it). Please get back to me as this is my only method of communication other than email! I am enthusiastic to learn and am extremely eager to help you with your dream and help blow you up to the entire world.
Absolutely true and GREAT info. I trained with many sales companies, conducted seminars on cold calling but really never got that "click" that really comes from a mindset. Good job Grant. I will use your stuff in my next Sales director job. Best PJ
Im into phone sales more than 10 years and i know the only important thing overall is are you born with this tallent or you regular..you can learn, yes but if you born salesman is the diferent beast. All that techniques are natural for me,i did not learn that..i adapt trough time.
I was always told not to send out material, but I do now and it gets return phone calls. In my phone calls I make sure I get the customers current info and update the contact info and email media kits to them because of you. Do you know of any Advertising sales people in NM?
I just got into sales. And my first week was garbage bc i didnt have the skills or knowledge. Im sitting thinking then i type how to sell on youtube & now im here & now ima succeed.
This is my first ever troll moment. I hope it isn't too foolhardy and ill-conceived. Grant is far wealthier and more business savvy than I. This is obviously a reason people come to Him for sales advice and not me; however; when he says it would be preferable to throw out the internet and social media in favor of a telephone... goddam, I hope that is hyperbole. As a statement of fact, it is asinine. I considered watching the remainder of the video, but I have a hard time accepting a man as an intellectual mentor when he says such foolish things by way of introduction to his ideas.
great video Mr Cardone as most of your videos are. What advice would you give pertaining to this video on sales calls for a freight broker? im just under 2 months in and have been doing my homework, watching videos, reaching out to successful individuals who have experience in freight brokering. what is your input?
Just wondering what ur answer would be now ? Social media , email , or phone??? I think you'd say social media now, that's 80percent of your market in 2017!
marconi beat graham in telecom, though (his first experiment was from shore-to-ship here on the adriatic) p.s. great sales performance, grant): it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guglielmo_Marconi
I just started a sales position at newegg business about 3 weeks ago and I haven’t made a sale yet any tips im an account executive and I need to make theses sales I just can’t close
Very good video I learn a lot thanks a lot. Just ONE advice for you For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
If a person is cold market and know nothing about your product how would you go about closing close market if they have no knowlege of who you are? Anyone
Your boy Heath needs a coaching my friend.. he's in a video doing what your saying not to do ... Dig your show's man. Listen to 10x at least once a week.
Grant, you've been a wonderful inspiration! And your sales advice has been tremendously helpful in my business. Out of curiosity, who did you study that got you fired up when you were starting out?
talk to them and find out what gem stone they are and play to there personality. listen listen listen and put in creative questions to make them think Christmas is coming
Grant love the show! Can you give some advice for network marketers you know part of most major marketers business are succeful by recruiting, what is the best way to recruit
Yes, but you should continue to test and record the results of those test. This will help bring better clarity to your presentation and help you close more sales.
I agree, but the reality is people are mostly only texting on their phones these days as it's faster. It's email by phone effectively so it's the ultimate time saver.
