What a great video for new players looking for info about Westek xp farm The vast majority of videos about Westek only tell you "do this and that" (showing and saying nothing and just throwing the grenade) But this one tells you all the xp and food buffs, where to throw the grenades and even has timestamps

@@CaptainDonut0 The most important bonuses are 4 lunchboxes and Squirrel stew or Cranberry Relish. Those are pretty easy to get and they more than double your XP. It's nice to have high int and max all the XP boosts but it's not essential. Give yourself 4 lunbhboxes during a double XP weekend and you'll quadruple your XP gains LOL.
This should be showed as the Bible for xp so far. Players can tweak it here and there to fit their own builds and this is a damn near perfect xp guide for anyone.
Cheers! Very true about taking a mutation serum to nullify the negative effects of mutations for 1 hr. Personally I wouldn't do that, serums are too costly compared to one or two more nukas to make up for the extra int point. But yeah, you're right that you can do that.
@@LCarmine72BR The short answer to the best expedition to run repeatedly is "The Most Sensational Game", unless you get the escort mission it's the fastest by far. As you can see from the footage I did it straight out of the Vault. And it's much easier with 4 people in the group.
Sorry if it seems complex LOL. But you don't have to do every tiny little thing. Just focus on getting gold so you can buy lunchboxes and doing AC expeditions. Those will have you shooting up the levels. I just wanted to make sure I was covering as many of the Int and XP boosts you could get.

A group of people I play with run West Tek when double XP events come up, or they're trying to finish the current scoreboard. I've joined them on their West Tek runs a couple of times, but I very quickly learned you need to have unyielding armour, XP boosts, bloodied or instigating weapons etc to be effective. As a lower level player I usually go through The Most Sensational Game when I want an XP boost,, or some legendary items for the scrip machine.
Yeah, West Tek requires a lot of preparation to be really worth it. For lower level players I recommend AC expeditions. They're almost as good for XP and you get legendaries & stamps too.
I also have seen this reddit post, but if there actually was a change to intelligence, then it is not a recent change. I grinded multiple season to score rank 100 with the repeatable XP weekly challenge and have up to 79 intelligence (81 intelligence with INT booblehead) and there is no difference in XP gain in this season compared to previous seasons. So this was either changed long time ago or the information on the wiki was just wrong and it was always +3% XP per intelligence. Regarding your buff list: if the Mothman Equinox event is active you should get the buff from the Wise Mothman at the end instead of using the Mothman Tome camp item as it gives +15% XP. Also the intelligence bonus is multiplied with other XP bonuses, so the Leader booblehead is still better than the Intelligence bobblehead if you have high intelligence. Also worth to be mentioned is that during Double XP Weekends you don't need all buffs as XP per enemy is capped at 4000 XP. To optimize the nuka-grenade strategy you should equip the legendary perk Detonation Contagion which explodes enemies killed by your nuka-grenades. This helps getting additional kills if the grenade itself didn't kill an enemy because it had more health from being legendary or was slightly out of range of the grenade. The perfect weapon for the nuka-grenade strategy is an Elder's Mark rerolled for the Instigating legendary effect (1 star is enough). This way you get +100% damage from Instigating, +15% damage from it's hidden Cursed effect and also the 60% Armor penetration from adding a Armor piercing receiver applies to your grenades.
Fair enough, I don't pay attention to XP anymore but I do recall that last season I got less XP per enemy. But that might be memory playing tricks on me. Very nice additional tips too! I hadn't considered the Detonation legendary perk or the Elder's Mark.
@@SequentialGamerFallout Bethesda added the Mothman Tome camp item recently which was not available at the beginning of the last season. You could get the same buff from Steven Scarberry, but it was limited to once per day while the Mothman Tome allows you to get this buff indefinitly. This could explain the difference.
I just don't see why someone would go through all of this just to rank up to 100 on the season faster. Like i can just get on for maybe half an hour a day and do dailies and still reach over 100 before the season is over anyways, so grinding it out for a day spending hours and hours running a repetitive loop just seems like a quick way to kill interest in a game to me.
Yeah, the only reason I do it is to finish the seasons faster so I can make videos about the rewards. But nobody watches them LOL. Generally I wouldn't recommend grinding XP, like I said in the video, unless you were needing to level up fast for some reason. Say it's near to the end of season and you need to rank up for a reward. Or you want perk coins for legendary perks.
It's been a long time since I've checked that but is that a weekly? If that's the case then yeah it won't be doubled. Oops, my mistake. You can still finish the season in one weekend, that's exactly what I did, or you can wait until the double XP weekend coming in early July. I recommend the second option unless you're like me and rushed the season so I could make a video that nobody watched LMAO. Save your sanity and wait until it's double XP!
Yeah, there's a definite tipping point when grinding for the consumables ends up taking up more time. That's why I don't recommend going for magazines and bobbleheads, but brain bombs, squirrel stew and cranberry relish are easy to get and you should go for them. It's not the end of the world if you don't have a +2 from the bobblehead.

100c for rand sugarbombs and 3 makes brainbombs that last 1 1/2 hrs, leader bobbleheads 150c last for 2 hrs with curator, and LL3 100c lasts an hr with curator, you can sell the junk from 1 west tek run and afford that
The "double score weekend" was a rip-off. They changed it to "double daily score" and the repeatable score bonus is under the weekly list, so it was not doubled.
I’m hesitant to say this because I don’t want people blocking my camp but… you can build a little xp camp right outside westtek where you have a bed a mothman tome and your derby machine. Also I like to add a scrap box weapons workbench and a symptomatic to remove any diseases I acquire. Since you usually exit westek between runs esp with the nuka xp run so you can reapply your int boost after the 30 minutes
Yeah, that's where I set up my own camp if you look at the footage. Great minds, eh? But IMHO it's good if other people setup their on the same spot with all the machines, that way everybody who grinds West Tek can use them.
Perfect guide at a perfect pace. One thing want to ask if you are sure about. Double score says it does not apply on weekly. 100score for every 10k xp is weekly.
Yes, that was a mistake on my end, it's the dailies only. I usually finish the scoreboards pretty quickly so it's been a while since I looked at the actual challenge.
I never play the boardwalk, only the casino. I never have trouble getting all the bonus objectives, but on the other maps there are things that can ruin it, like prisoners getting killed after released, or in boardwalk lagging out, which happens a lot, and 100% ruins the winning expeditiously objective.
Well I won't claim to have worked it all out entirely on my own, it's more accurate to think of this as the collected knowledge of the player base. But I did spend a lot of effort into testing and putting it together, I'll take credit for that part LOL.
The approach still works, you just get less experience from lower intelligence. The biggest factor is the 4 lunchboxes. And if you wait for the double XP weekend you'll get loads of XP anyway.
FO76 is basically taking FO4's combat and focusing more on that side of the game. So if you liked FO4's combat then FO76 might be worth a try. Don't expect quests or factions to matter though, that's not something an online game can do.
The DOUBLE SCORE weekend ad says it only counts for daily quests, and the repeatable XP is on the weekly quest tab. Are you sure it will double this weekend?
You don't need adrenaline. Demo 5. Grenadier. Perk that shows arc. Bloodied, since you want unyielding for extra int and dmg. And equip a INSTAGATING weapon when you throw the nades. You only need to use 4 nades and the only one you need to kill with a weapon is the mutant and the dog in the middle of west tek, right door and to the left. Shove a nade to the left room, then open the right room door in the middle. Run back to the left, open door, shove in a nade, run back to start and open the door with panel, throw over server/small obstacle in middle, behind into the corner. Rinse and repeat. That is the minmax way solo. Non of that running around and gunning like shown in the video.
Technically you don't need the Adrenaline perk but one grenade isn't guaranteed to kill everything in its range, and you'll see lower XP sometimes. The extra damage helps make grenades more effective. And yes, Fire in the Hole is only needed early on, I don't personally need it, but I'm showing the location where I want to throw my grenades to so people can see. The rest is a matter of taste IMHO, I prefer to save my grenades. I started with ~700 grenades and barely managed to finish the scoreboard even with crafting extra nukas. For long runs like that it's worth building up your adrenaline for max grenade effectiveness and saving the grenades for the more profitable spots. If I'd followed your route I would've run out before finishing the season. BTW, instigating is still a tiny bit better but the notion of your weapon needing to be instigating is old. @@SequentialGamerFallout You are making fair points, thank you for taking time to respond. I haven't tested with bloodied, did not know. True, sometimes some mutants don't die. Overall, I've seen good exp, over 40-53k in total each run. I haven't had problems with nades though, stockpiled nukas and fragment nades well in advance. I just want to do it fast as possible, utilising all the exp buffs and limited ones, like Nuka cranberry to npc. Leadership bobbleheads, live and love 3 and so on. I wish I had some int unyielding. Currently only able to get 69 int with all the buffs, party, mutations and camp items. Rolling for unyielding is a pain.
@@winyonzentrada Always happy to discuss, I don't think that I'm some all-knowing guy so I'm always happy if someone can teach me something new 👍 In my case I also don't have FO1st so I can't store nuka grenades, that contributes to why I'm trying to be more efficient with them. If I had the ammo box then I'd be more focused on maxing how much XP I get per minute. But in my situation I find that lunchboxes are easier to accumulate than grenades, I might have used about 59-70 while finishing the scoreboard compared to 700+ grenades. And IMHO 69 Int is fine! YT videos focus on getting the highest possible Int figure just so they can put it in the thumbnail but IMHO the more important figure is how much Int you can have consistently. And 60-69 is pretty good. The difference is a couple more runs of West Tek, basically nothing.
I have an account that started as a mule account. On one character, did "Queen of the Hunt" for the first time and got the Shielded casual under armor plan. I put a shielded casual under armor on my vendor for 800 caps, because they take 4 flux and ballistic fiber to craft. They seldom sell. Anyway, if anyone on PC wants to pay 800 caps or supply the materials, I can crat them and put on my vendor or drop for them.
@@SequentialGamerFallout Yes it does, the good thing about the explosive bobble head is it kills more mutants what farm a higher yield of xp over the leaders because you get I think off my head 30% extra explosive damage to the nuka nade what is actually a lot.
@@mpe8274 Hmm, that's a good point. 30% extra damage would be pretty significant. There's times where you end up with a few enemies left over that the grenade didn't kill.
Normally I'm using an unyielding set and I have 15 natural intelligence. That's 30, and mutations give me another 10 (with rounding up). So 40 normally but I broke down how to buff your int in the "Maxing your int" section of the video.
Double score doesn't apply to the xp score challenge because it's considered a weekly challenge. Double score only applies to daily challenges unfortunately.
Maybe I missed it but is there a chart on how much XP is needed per level to rank up? You said you get 20,000 for an expedition which is good for low level but not for high level. I assume that is the amount of XP need to go from 20 to 21 is different then from 200 to 201? I assume there is a spread sheet formula to create the chart.
There is one more trick change your looks while crouched the exit pullout weapon hidden perk is now on in 3rd person you will be standing up 2 x xp from that
Do weapon mod effects carry over to the grenade or is it ONLY the first star effect? Angry Turtle has a guide using an smg due to the 60% armor penetration mod.
Yes that would work too, because the armor penetration works by reducing the armor value of enemies globally. So yeah, a weapon with an armor piercing mod would work too.
Question... Armor doesn't stack for other affect so why does it stack for intelligence? In other words... one piece of arristocrat armor gives you that effect but all six pices doest give you six tomes that effect. Why or foes intelligence? I havent noticed it if it does... just sating
The same effect adds up across armor pieces, that's why the int bonus stacks. The same is supposed to happen with Sentinels and Cavaliers, the bonus becomes 75% to reduce damage by 75% (15% for each piece).
Double score does not apply to the weeklies. Only the dailies that drop during that time period. So the repeatable xp bonus will not be 200 per rank up. Never has been in the past. Still won't be now.
Well... the maths is interesting. But im pretty sure I can kill mutants twice as fast if I don't waste 20 perk points in intelligence. Which is worth more than 60% xp boost. Am I wrong? :)
I never used herd mentality as it states '' +3 when near your team and -2 not near your team'' Are you sure this stat will still be added if you're only grouped?
Ignore the "near your team" rubbish, you simply have to belong to a team. Even if it's a team of just one person, i.e. yourself. There is zero reason not to have that mutation.
The situational groups are better for their situation. So events for events, expeditions for expeditions, and daily ops for daily ops. But a trick you can use for max XP is to run through it in a casual group, but swap back to the event group just before it finishes. So you get more XP for enemies and more XP from the event reward. But it's not that much anyway so it shouldn't matter too much.
i just tried it yesterday and i don't understand it since i don't get above 200 with most of the bonuses. Also, your low level is almost 2000 level and unyielding is too previous to me to accidentally lose it.
Yeah, it can get confusing but it's a good idea to look at the status page so you can see the bonuses. Don't worry about getting every single little bonus, start with 4 lunchboxes and you'll be getting a lot of XP just from that. If by "low level" you mean the character I used in the expedition section, that was a new character that was at levels 7-11 during the expedition.
Could be, I was simply stating the XP value that you're supposed to get. I've not been able to confirm the cap recently so I didn't want to say that it was there without checking it for myself.
i ve seen so many videos of westek... but supermutants are not respawning for me, i ve waited like 10 min at some point, and when i come back they didnt respawned, so i just expeditions as a grind
Pretty close. I wouldn't worry about getting every last bit of intelligence, as long as you have around 60-70 you'll get plenty of experience. The biggest factors are the four lunchboxes and an unyielding set. You may have to throw a few more grenades but that's not that hard.
I'm around level 145 and have around 74 additional level ups I haven't done. Why do you keep leveling up if you have a cap on the number of SPECIAL? What's the point?
After 145 the only reason is to upgrade legendary perks. You scrap unwanted perks for perk coins that you then use to upgrade the legendaries. But after around level 700 there's really no benefit from levelling up IMHO. I've personally stopped giving a crap. I just tag a bit during events for loot, focus on the goals, and let low level players get the XP from killing enemies. So yes, the caps on weapon levels, SPECIAL levels, etc all contribute to make levels meaningless after about 200 or so. The first time I ran through they were level 75 but in subsequent runs they were level 100. I suspect that the server needs time (no idea why!) to adjust to your level and the people who spread the idea didn't bother to check more than a few times. The PTS was fine for me too so no idea where the notion came from in the first place.
You can buy the plans for the underarmor at some of the Whitespring Mall vendors, try the Free States or Shopping Mall vendors. The Watoga and Berkeley Station vendors also sell them. But for the Shielded lining you need to do the Queen of the Night event until you get it.
With all the time spent in collecting these said items and crafting materials you could just play the game grinding west tech with just a few easy to obtain bonuses
I do recommend that people just play the game unless they have some pressing need to get loads of XP, but a lot of the bonuses like squirrel stew are very easy to get.
Yeah, no idea where they got that from but mutants are still level 100. You may need to do one or two runs with level 75s but they go back to level 100 after that.
The bonuses? The timers are based on real time but they pause when you log off and should resume when you re-login. Unfortunately it doesn't look like they're guaranteed to be there, maybe the server reset clears them?, but usually they're there though I've also seen plenty of times when my old bonuses got cleared.
@@XtroTheArctic I haven't tested but there's a chance that boosters of the same class overwrite each other, just like with foods and chems. But yeah, it should probably be included for completeness .. I just don't care too much for magazines usually.
That's a bit tricky. Other people have confirmed that the pop-up you get at the end of the expedition, the one showing 20k and your level ups, isn't accurate. Some have reported 80k XP from a single expedition, so lunchbox bonuses and double XP must apply. But the issue is that you can't see your XP in numbers so it's difficult to check exactly which bonuses are applying. I might have to dig into that if I can find what each level requires.
From what I gathered, it maxes out at 20k, but is affected by double xp week, or maybe some other bonus that boosts expedition xp specifically, I'm not sure.
On my Westek nuka grenade runs, I am having good luck with instigating weapons, handmade and flamer so far. I think I am killing super mutants faster with my instigating handmade than the railway rifle does. The instigating flamer kills them in what seems to be less than a second, also no need to swap weapons for throwing the grenades.
Guide for returning player I need to know what good setup I can use to allow me to grind for resources for unyielding I need something to hold me off untill I get enough materials
I personally recommend going full health power armor during the time before you have a full unyielding set. Excavators is good for the extra carry capacity and everybody can get one, but Union's is better if you can get it. Just use anything while exploring the world and jump into power armor when the fights get tough. That'll save your fusion cores.
That could be a server thing or a console vs PC thing. I get interiors refreshing in one minute. So when I mistyped the code for a nuke and had to go back for another one the silo had reset. Less than a minute but it reset. But I've also had people telling me that for them silos stay the same for hours. Something's different.
Yes, like trusttheprocess said you want Grenadier 2 and Demolitioner 5 at the very least. Basically all the perks I mentioned in the video. But double check that you're using "Nuka Grenades". "Nuka Quantum Greandes" or any other type of grenade doesn't work. It has to be the nukas you make with standard nuka cola and frag grenades. They drop quite a bit so try throwing higher, as long as you're not hitting the ceiling it should be fine. Also, how are you measuring how many mutants you're hitting? I usually work off how much XP I get from one level 100 mutant and divide the total XP I get from grenades by that to give me a rough figure. After a while you should have a fair idea of how much XP you can get. Sometimes the mutants will die for no reason too, there's some footage of that in the video, so you might hit less mutants with grenades. Make sure you're waiting 1 minute before returning to the main West Tek level. I also find that sometimes you need to leave West Tek altogether, instead of going down the elevator, to let it properly reset. If you're finding dead mutants then it's not a bad thing to try.
You have to be out for at least 1 minute. I often end up going back in too early so something like a stopwatch helps quite a bit. Also, sometimes West Tek mutants don't respawn properly. In that case leaving West Tek altogether, i.e. going to the outside world, and waiting a minute tends to give it a good reset.
Also make sure you've done the Secrets of WestTek quest, apparently. I'm starting to suspect I haven't actually done that, though I haven't been making serious WestTek XP farm runs anyway.
I tried this with the grenades, it don't work for me. I copied all your cards, held a different weapon, but with the same first star effect, loaded up the Adrenaline perk, and do all the stuff you do here. My Nuka grenades don't kill them. 3/4 of their lifes are gone. That is all. And without the armor and mutations mutations, sorry i don't want play low hp char that looks like a melted figure from Playmobil caused by mutations, this don't work at all for me. All Fallout games teached us, rads and mutations are bad. F76 is the first one, that works the opposite way. Usually i have a PA Meelee tank build, and i shred everything without getting health below 95% without chems, mutations, crazy food or any supporting stuff. The only problem are flying enemies, cause these have to come down to get shreddered.
@@SequentialGamerFallout As i said, i hold a crossbow with that effect when throwing the nuka grenade. 3/4 of their lives gone. So i had to kill them direct. So idk why i have less damage, when i copy your build, cards, and food. The only difference i have no mutations, no low health build with fitting armor. Maybe it would work with Psycho, but then i guess the mentats buff will disappear.
@@TobiasRieperGER There's something missing. Low health only gives you up to 60% more damage from the Adrenal mutation but that's it. Grenadier 2, Demolitioner 5, Bloody 3.
You're welcome! I see you take your roleplaying seriously! But don't worry about groups, you just join them for the bonuses and you don't have to do anything or play with anyone. The benefits are worth it, +4 to Int or another attribute, Herd Mentality bonuses, Strange in Numbers bonuses. From a numbers perspective it's much better than Lone Wanderer. As long as it's not a daily ops or expedition group then nobody expects you to do anything.
Then theres the poor mans way of running west tek, foregrt all those buffs and your build and nuka grens.. just rock up use your weapon to blast the mutants, rinse repeat.. its not optimal but it saves all that time farting about making food and buffs and you have more fun
West Tek is only really effective if you boost Int and XP. If you don't then it's probably (haven't checked the numbers) better to repeat the boardwalk AC expedition.
Just keep in mind that you don't *have* to do this. It's available for those times when you need to grind, but you can still enjoy the game just as much without grinding for XP.
I hate players that run WestTek and focus on XP over playing the actual game, there are so many level 500+ players that don't even know how to do events, so don't even realise that they are missing out on properly earned XP. They don't know where the meatbags are at Eviction Notice and sit on the spawn points rather than being in the middle, which gives a better haul and MORE XP. They never collect ore in Radiation Rumble, which gives better rewards, better spawns and MORE XP. They annihilate the SBQ at Scorched Earth, without realising that the longer she's alive, the more spawn she generates which gives you... yeah, you guessed it... MORE XP These buffs are great, but rather than doing the same stupid boring grind, people need to learn how to play the fckin game and maybe have some fun with it
I agree, and I pointed out in the video that West Tek and other XP grinds are more for those times when you need a boost in XP for some reason, e.g. the season's ending. I would recommend the same things, just play and do events. You'll naturally level up quickly enough.
I've been trying to get an Secret Service Unyielding set for a while now. I'm still grinding the gold bars so I can buy all the parts (and that's the "easy" part). Just getting unyielding to roll is hard..welcome to the grind I guess.
Yeah, it can take a bit of time but you'll get there. But a tip is that instead of re-rolling legendaries, you can craft a new one. You only spend 1 module per crafting so you can easily save a lot of modules. The sell the ones you don't want.

Now I have to buy the other plans and then try for 3 stars... Those plans are kinda expensive..I mean I bought the most expensive one first (barring the helmet/head piece which I've been told you don't actually need..it just finishes the look). Ima just keep grinding..lol. :D
