I appreciate u man im a roofing contractor owner installer and i feel the need to stick up for i cant stand the flack u get. They called u a hack that pissed me off.
This is great. Helps me to do my estimate. On a 12 sq hip roof I'm figuring a 15% field shingle waste just to be safe. So 14 sq. Figure I can return what I don't use. A roofing company wanted to bill for 16 sq. I asked how they came up with that. Never answered.
man, I do roofing myself, these days with all the roofing software measuring. They have almost perfect software. I'm always within the SQ of each roof without physically measuring anything.
Why can’t you just multiple length X width (63x30) and get 1890 You completly lost me on why you broke down all the little triangle What is the point of that
On the front of the house that is very complicated the way you were measuring it. And also when you were measuring the Dormer if you measure from the middle of the valley to The rake on the ends on both the front of the house and on the Dormer you will find the correct measurement.
i should make a video like that for you. there are so many factors that go into something like that. not that i care, but if i made a video like that i have a feeling i would get alot of shit!!! also with tear off are you cutting ridge vent if needed, ice and water, tarpaper, edge?
@@Lifes_Apprentice Justin I have had a couple roofing contractors that get dumpsters asking about if we would do the the tare off and if so how much per square and how much per additional layer. I have a clue on the dump fees butt no clue on the labor part of it. I think it might be a good additional business to add to my mix with the dumpsters , tree care, landscaping,, junk removal and any thing else that can make money on.
@@danahasson2892 the problem lies in what they expect from you. tear off is not too complicated but if the roof needs sheeting and made watertight they would have to work with you. in that case they may be upset with your pace. weather you were too fast, too slow... its a touchy subject. if you tear off and a thunderstorm comes and someones house get ruined who is liable. you also have to think about insurance type things. i have homeowners ask to tear off for me and always say no due to liability reasons. honestly the oney in roofing is the tearoff and prep because shingling is easy, minus the details compared to tearoff and cleanup
absolutely! i will not stop making roofing/siding videos. i will not be making as many as i did last year because i am not on the roof as much personally. what would you like to see?
@@phillipforest4949 i will make more for sure. i started this channel before i owned the dumpster business and did mostly construction type videos. now the dumpster business has taken off and i find myself pulled 10 different ways everyday and it is hard to make a solid video about any one single thing! there will be more! i want to make some videos doing zack from veteran construction new challenge videos just waiting for the right time and place! keep an eye out for those!
