So this was very helpful to me cause I just did this and didnt understand. On a side note that is not how you measure a wheel lug pattern. It’s measured from the outside of the hole to center of the other.

question,i have a 6 bolt flywheel that had a 3 bolt converter on it.should i get the 6 bolt or am i fine getting another 3 bolt? its a 383 planning on making decent horsepower,just street car though

Our Third Gen Camaro is making north of 900hp and running 5s with a 3 bolt converter. You’ll be fine. 😉

I picked up a flex plate for a 440 mopar and bought a th400 conversion and it is telling me use a 6x10.750 converter what's the 6 mean exacly

Most likely the number of bolts used.

@@gunsandhorsepower If it’s the correct bolt circle on both the converter and the flexplate then yes. As an example, a 4L80e flexplate is 6x11.5” but a 3x11.5” TH400 torque converter will bolt directly to it, there will just be 3 unused holes on the 4L80e flexplate.

To convert any fraction to a decimal all you have to do is divide the small number by the large number for instance 3/4 as a fraction converted to a decimal would be 3 divided by 4 would equal 0.75 which equals .750 it works for any fraction that you want to convert to a decimal. Like 5/8 say 5 divided by 8 equals 0.625

@@Kellyoest Yes sir a lug pattern can be measured with either method although it’s easier to just skip the math and measure lug to lug. Unfortunately you don’t get that option with a 3 bolt converter and it’s caused a lot of confusion and questions on a previous video. Hence this video.
