For virgin brown hair, would you recommend henna treatment first and then the next day mixing indigo and henna, or would you recommend 1 step application the first time By mixing both?

I can’t wait to watch these videos. What a blessing that you’re offering this content to help us use the products correctly. I am so excited for my products to arrive.
Henna by itself is a very time consuming process. The end result is usually worth it. I mixed the Rajasthani with indigo, including aloe. It was dark reddish brown but literally washed off my hair after waiting 4 days to wash. I am tired of red, although it’s beautiful.
@truthreigns3267 - you might be leaving the indigo too long - it needs to be mixed up and applied within 20 minutes because only this initial stage of dye release can dye hair. I died my hair in a one step process for years (I part henna to 4 parts indigo: Rajasthani henna mixed in hot tea with cold water and salt for the indigo) and always had a very, very dark brown with no reds at all - I have naturally dark brown hair with a lot of grey at the front but it was always uniformally dark. I have allowed my grey to grow out for two years because the colour felt too dark for me at 61 years old, and am now going to attempt a lighter colour on the grey (so I get streaks) by mixing in Cassia and less indigo.
@@honeychurchgipsy6How long do you let the 1:3 henna & indigo on your hair before washing? Also do you use any particular shampoos for clarifying before application? And also for longer lasting shampoo & conditioner for regular washes.
Hi, Do you make the henna powder with an acidic liquid, and do you add salt to the indigo powder mix? Could not find the answer on your blog. 😊 Thanks if you can reply.
I’ve been absorbing your videos lately getting ready to purchase your products for my virgin hair (I’m 35 with dull, fine, dry, dark brown/auburn hair and have some grey starburst clusters appearing in a few areas) and have specifically been searching for photos to help decide the correct henna to indigo ratio. Do these photos you mentioned exist now anywhere, 9 months later? If not, this is absolutely a project I would love to see❤️ Nervous and excited for this henna journey 🙌💕
Also, a video on achieving LIGHT brown results I'm sure would be very helpful for a lot of people. That is, using cassia but not to achieve strawberry blonde, and not just straight hendigo. I.e. quantities of cassia, indigo, henna and amla needed to achieve a cooler light brown.
Yes!!! I've been trying to find instructions to this but I find very little about this... usually nobody tries to achieve this.. 🤔 I've been wondering if I could reach this by shortening the time how long I keep hendigo mixture in my hair.
@@Anamaria2301 SO much I could say about this having done a lot of research and some experimenting! I discovered that you need a certain amount of henna to cover the grey, and any indigo will just make it darker. So a hendigo diluted with cassia will make a lighter brown, but the greys will still look sparkly as it were (but you can get then gold and blended in this way rather than grey and obvious). To make the greys light brown you essentially make the rest of your hair a darker brown than it started, but I find that the indigo tends to wash out a bit in me in any case but I prefer a lighter tone so that's okay, but it is more red than my natural colour... The solution is to indigo gloss when it does this, but that does just mean going darker... And I have found that on light brown hair adding that cooler tone can make it look greenish, I guess that's something that shows more on lighter hair than dark. I did research into colour theory and of course greeny blue (indigo) and yellow/orange (because the henna is pale because you're watering it down) makes green... Then I discovered there is something called katam which is like indigo but more purple-blue than green-blue, and I think in theory would correct yellow-orange to brown. I'm going to try that. I wouldn't personally do a shorter-timed hendigo because it takes so long to do root application anyway so some bits would look darker than others (remember you mustn't just keep applying to your whole hair each month because henna and indigo build up and get darker in layers), and I wouldn't know how long to leave it exactly for the right colour. I hope this helps! :)
Use indigo and yoghurt for like 15 mins it makes the hair darker ..i used to get red hair on my greys when using henna then the next day I'd use the indigo mix and it helped
I just brought henna from the henna lab. However it says mix and put on without letting the henna sit to release the dye. Should I still mix and let the henna sit for an hour or more to release the dye even tho it does not say so?
Hello. We can’t answer this as you used another brand and we don’t know if there are any conflicts for their brand with chemicals. Please ask the brand you used.
@akilahballard1283 - after dye release is achieved with the henna (which depends on temperature and what you mix it with: it can be left over night if mixed with cool liquids but should be used more quickly if mixed with hot), mix the indigo with a spoonful of salt and warm water. Mix immediately into henna and apply within 20 minutes. If you have a lot of hair do it in two batches. Mixing the henna with amla will give darker, ashy tones, using cream of tartar powder will make it a richer auburn colour.
so i have black hair & my goal is brown hair which henna/ratio should i use? since i do have black hair i wouldnt mind like a chocolate brown outcome , help!!

Hello Khadija, I am following you from Iraq. I want to change my hair color to blonde. How much indigo and henna should I put on? My hair color is brown.
Hello! Naturally achieve a golden-blonde tone using Cassia Obovata. Since this is not a chemical color, it will not lighten naturally dark hair. Cassia best shows up on already blonde and light hair tones and greys.
Thank you, Khadija, for your wonderful answer. A question, please, is cassia a tree leaf or a herb? Should I mix it with henna or do I just put it on my hair without any additives?
@@noorraad7383 PS but also you don't have to mix it with henna. If you mix it with henna it'll deposit color. What are you trying to achieve. Cassia and henna are the leaves of a tree/bush.
If I used 3:1 indigo for a darker tone one time (for the whole hair), but want a more reddish tone the next time? Can I just use henna (for the whole hair) the next time I color? Or is that only going to color my new growth reddish and the rest of the hair will remain the darker tone from the indigo?
Thank you so much for all your videos and information. I’ve been using your henna for several years and I like the results. typically I use the Moroccan and Cassia. I tried several times with Henna and indigo using at least 50-50 percentages and could never get a brown result. .Is there a different henna powder for achieving brown hair with indigo. I have some gray and white hair and mostly reddish orange from the henna I’ve been using.
Hello. Mix them separately and let them sit for several hours. We have a complete guide that you can follow here to help you in the process of coloring your hair: hennasooq.com/blogs/frontpage/complete-guide-how-to-color-your-hair-with-henna-and-indigo/. We hope this helps!
Khadija, since I add amla and aloe vera powder to my henna mixture, it is ok t then add in the indigo as part of a one step process? I ask since you mention in previous videos that indigo doesm't like other substances outside of henna or aloe included in it's mixture?
I have gone back to henna after being blonde. I miss my henna hair ( i mix indigo and henna) I add honey and a little apple cider vinegar. I always add essential oils ( rose and jasmine) My hair just sucks it all up and loves it. First application and my hair feels 1000000 times better than any treatment i used while blonde and my hair has always been healthy. Henna just does different. Totally love it

I am 100 % white/grey. I would love to go to a copper shade not orange. Is Morrocan henna Red Raj or just Rajasthan adding a small percentage of indigo to the Henna? Thanks.
Hello. We’re sorry we don’t offer a light brown tone as it’s not possible with henna since it dyes reddish tones and even with indigo it makes more of a reddish brown to medium brown and darker etc… There may be other options found in this really good book called Natural Hair Coloring by Christine Shahin. www.amazon.com/shop/hennasooq
Hello. All of our henna hair dye products cover grey. What you purchase depends on what hair color you want. Have you decided which tone you’d like to achieve ?

If you have a boarder of white hair, do we have to do two steps or can we do a mix for a less black shade? My aim is for a deep maroon shade on my Asian hair with whites covered. Thank you.
Hi Khadija , love your videos.I have a lots of gray hair and hard to cover. i have to do it in 2 steps sometimes repeat the indigo 2 more times ,Isthat anything that i can add in the mix to fix and last longer?
What would you recommend to die dark red henna hair to a light brown? Would it be 30% henna and 70% indigo? Or would I need to use a completely different product all together
@daryanazarenko6689 - you can't lighten hair with any plant based dyes, so the result will always be darker than your natural colour. Using 3:1 or 4:1 indigo:henna will come out pretty dark - almost black if you live in a hard water area.

Hello ! im glad i found your chanel (even if its still a little bit confusing) i would ask, what would you recommand for me (brown hair) to go on a dark copper, do you think its possible ?
Thank you for this video because I’m trying to get chestnut brown on my gray and I keep getting light red or orange and sometimes I get it right but when my gray come in the old part starts looking orange 😬🥴
Brunette here. On my first henna application, my white strands went orange. It's normal for white hair or grey, same when it grows. A second application should level the color. I'm gonna go for a soft black soon, as I don't really like the reddish tone tho, from my chestnut brown henna mix. Indigo alone can be used over the red/orange tone to level out everything.
when you mix the indigo and the henna, why do they mix them separately and then together. Like make a paste with henna, then with indigo. can you mix the two powders together and then add the warm water to this mixture ?
If I want to dye and cover grays, can I do just the henna first, and then this mix (henna+indigo) as a second step? Will that cover the grays completely?

Hello Khadija, I'm a big fan of henna! I have questions: Can we use turmeric to lighten our hair with/without henna? Is it true that baking soda make henna dye work better?
Sorry for late and thank you!!! :) You know honestly I've never used turmeric nor baking soda and tested it out so I can't really say if it works or not. Did you ever give it a try since this comment?
Can I dye my gray (snow white) hairs beige, if I keep 50/50 mixture on them only a little time, maybe 20 minutes? (Or maybe 30-40% henna and 50-60% indigo?)
I used boxed henna. Mountain light hair. I did medium brown. It’s super dark, very dull. How can I make it more golden? Is it possible to use the lighter shade they offer?

I know your culture doesn't allow you to show us your hair, but it is a little strange that you sell hair products and advertise them to us without displaying your own hair! It's a bit like, "the proof is in the pudding"...but there is no pudding...or "lead by example"...but there is no example!
Actually this is not my culture. Religion and culture are two different things. Anyone can be of any religion and have any culture. I wasn't even born a Muslim. I chose Islam when I was 17 years and I'm Guyanese and Italian. So covering doesn't have to do with my culture :) But my choice to be a Muslim and practice my religious right and freedoms. I think it's odd that not more Muslim women and other religions that cover don't represent that they too love to care for their hair naturally or in the ways they like to without having to provide a specific visual. I lead by example by being a free woman to look the way I want to look and dress, and represent and build a community that doesn't get a lot of representation. This is my purpose and goal and I'm always going authentically be me. Thanks!! xo

I don't know if I should try the bundle, I've chemical-colored hair with thin Asian salt and pepper hair. I'm afraid that my gray hair is going to turn red. I just want my hair to be medium brown, no red. I never did henna or indigo before. Do I mix the henna and let a sit for 3 hours? Indigo power mix and let it sit for 20 minutes.
Hello. Unfortunately not as the aloe Vera gel form doesn’t work well for coloring. The indigo is very fussy and ideally aloe vera powder helps it perform best
Hello. It's a two step process. You can check this guide to help achieve that dark brown tone: hennasooq.com/blogs/frontpage/complete-guide-how-to-color-your-hair-with-henna-and-indigo/
Hello. Putting henna (and any herbs) onto damp hair really helps it go on much easier. Also applying indigo onto damp hair (with a dash or so of salt) has gotten the indigo to absorb better and give even darker, richer black color results.
Hello, I colored my hair a burgundy tone but my grey is at about 75% and it turned out orange. What can I do to darken the orange tone. I have henna sooq products I just don’t know what to do to fix it. Thank you for any help you give me.
I’m so glad for your info on henna I bought a kit to use I don’t know the ingredients but I’m going to look it over and see if it’ll be able to do what I need it to do , thank you 🙏🏽
We don't really recommend it without henna, as if it's been more then 3 days and if there is any new growth no with a good henna base, then it would come out with a greenish hue.
There are way too many variables for her to just spout percentages. It would be irresponsible, unless you're a fan of just having orange hair, the details are important.
That’s so rude. It’s literally a 5 minute video. Get a grip!!! And also how about having some gratitude for all the information she’s giving us -which I appreciate it.

Glad I stumbled upon this. Had anybody bought from her store? I am tempted to dye my hair brown with henna, but my hair is a darker brown naturally. Any tips?
