How To Mold Widebody Fenders To Your Car! 

Finally a guy who decided to do something about the rivet look, I freakin hate that rivet look! This is how body kits should be and look. GREAT JOB MAN!

I'm usually not into the wide body because of the hole, but that molded look is CLEAN!

Amazing work dude! How strong would you say this method is? I noticed you stances pretty hard. Would the kit break before the bond?

Looks awesome! For future reference or for anyone else who wants to do this, applying the bondo or body filler going left to right versus up and down will make your life a lot easier. A lot less sanding and easier to apply in a couple broad strokes!

Jsut trying to give some advice for other people that are trying to do this at home or even for you the next time you are doing this. You did a great job at getting all of the right materials and everything just next I would suggest not wiping down your fiberglass fenders with a solvent or cleaning product. They can end up getting trapped in the fiberglass and causing problems later. Tip number 2 fiberglass fillers main propose if to prevent water from getting in behind your panels where you sand down to bare metal and causing rust, as well as adding slight strength for your body filler, you should not have to put 3 coats of fiberglass material on. Tip number 3 remove more of the paint where your working any body filler if not desided (except for polyerster filler, that can get applied over primer) to be applied over any paint. Tip number 4 the idea ratio for harder is 2% of what ever amount of body filler your using Just wanted to give some helpful information. Looks great!

I remember that old skol trick back in the 2000s hiding rivets, etc. But it is still not considered a true metal one-off Widebody work . Car is nice though, check out my One Off True BPVIPGT GS.

I must say, I’m impressed. I glad to you a first timer use all good quality materials, besides the shitty primer (ha). Good job man. Next time you have to sand the original mounting holes. You really should bevel/feather them out. But you can just sand it enough so the bondo sticks. You don’t want any gloss areas. But other then that, 👍👍.

I wonder if using reverse hardware/rivets and use the body filler over them would work for extra rigidity. I'd be too worried about hitting a pothole and having the wheel smack against the widebody.

My buddy did this same thing for his 350z. He hit a large pot hole by accident and his wheel came up and cracked his kit all the up to to body. Need less to say the fiberglass fenders aren’t as strong as real metal fenders. Keep this in mind if your doing this for fitment as most people are. Lol watch for road obstructions

someone needs to key this guy into the use of a rattle can for a reveal coat. it would have saved, apparently, many subsequent coats of filler, knowing where the low areas actually are, rather than over-filling it all and sanding off 95 percent. Each time. And, it's no more high tech than what he's already doing. Some further knowledge about hard, soft and flexible sanding blocks would be useful too.

Yo you just drilled all those holes into your whip. You might've put crap on top to cover them but you never did anything underneath. You drilled into metal bro, that hole needed a primer on it to seal all possible points of entry from moisture. Your one fender looked rough as hell when you took the wide body panel off from the door! Wtf are you doing just covering up bad panels. That car is soon to be shot for sure! Smh

This is one project I al for sure not scared to tackle. But I would not go wife body unless it was to a comical larger wider wheels for more power and well that is only if i can fighter funds for a swap. Im not mechanical genius so swapping will coat me a little more

You made one massive mistake to not cover the bare metal you exposed around the glue line = rust

Roybi is a good tool it’s the same as wilwakkee and dewalt they use to same parts most tool are made in china anyways no matter the price makita and almost all brands made in Asian and they use interchangeable parts so they all pretty much the same and home depot sponsor tool is ryobi I have lots of tool and ryobi is the most I use tbh they never failed me and they still work till this day my rigid tool failed me and makita that’s the strangest thing I left them outside in water didn’t noticed for days they stopped working my ryobi one some how was the only one that worked true story

Hey do you think I'd use the same method when gluing a lip kit around my plastic OEM bumpers? I mean I'm going to do the wide body kit fiberglass pieces on the metal eclipse but on my Civic I need to glue the lip kit and mold it in around it. Any advice would be much appreciated thank you
