Just estimate/look at progress pictures unless you have the money or knowledge to get skin calipers done

If you got the money, dexa scans are most accurate.

This is great. But that recommendation of don't gain any more than 1% of your bodyweight per month" is pretty depressing. Its gonna take yeaars to gain truly quality Weight without compromising in other areas of fitness it seems. But keeping in mind the natural muscular potential of human beings(which is not a lot according to lyle mcdonald) and also the preservation of other fitness qualities it seems logical. Damn. The food measurement needs to be very much in point it seems 🤕

Yea you can go up to 2% depending on your training age but slow and steady is the name of the game
