Currently working on getting more explosive and this video comes at the perfect time! Btw I think it would be great for this video to get cut up into shorts for quick information, I can do that for you.I specialize in short-form content, I work for Jim Wendler (author of 5/3/1) and other big names. Unrelated question, but is working on rotation 2 times a week ok. One session, I do something power based like cross body swings and in another session I do something like cable woodchops. Is it fine. I have tried a new type of training where I change the variation of an exercise 5 times in a mesocycle. I did different variations each week. While doing all power and conditioning work as well. What are your thoughts
I am on nether side lets set that straight. What makes you qualified? You said you have researched very limited or somewhere along those lines, that is a red flag research always is important. I think this does not hold all legitimacy to be honest.
Cool story bro. Masters in Exercise Science, published research, decade working in professional/international sport as my career coaching athletes in the real world.
Fiber only serves a purpose if you are consuming foods like fodmaps or other things your body can’t digest. Your body can’t actually digest fiber either that’s why it gets rid of it as quickly as possible. I’ve rarely seen anyone go on carnivore and have problems with vitamin deficiencies unless they only ate bacon.
Mental toughness you get by actually fighting and doing the work, Improving skill, learning what to do in the fight. Anyone can burn you out, "toughness" training is what a low skill coach can give you. For MMA or combat sports, just train strength , watch diet and train all necessary skills.
lol, "exercise scientist" and online people who probably don't even train mma or are even nowhere near the physical level of these PROFESSIONAL athletes. straight bullshitting. these guys are not your average individuals. this is like sports media "analysts" critiquing athletes but have never touched a ball in their life
@@sweetscienceoffighting youre talking as if you understand their bodies. they understand their own bodies better than anyone else. you really think these guys don't understand recovery? you look like you've barely touched a weight in your life
@@sweetscienceoffighting "exercise scientist" who clearly doesn't practice what he preaches or can't even. i hope you keep thinking you're actually doing something relevant mr. exercise scientist
What a bunch of worse than pointless bullshit "training". He needed Controlled strategic strength training, then do the actual mma drills/sparring and, importantly..*recover* .
great video. sharing the channel and telling some folks I train with about the S&C Blueprint. would love to see a video specifically about handspeed - if you think it's just technique or if there's decent transfer from some lifts more to the velocity side of the force-velocity curve and not just the power stuff in the middle
Appreciate it a lot. People underestimate how much sharing can help small channels like mine. Updated Blueprint will be sent out too soon. Regarding handstand, yea mainly technical/tactical but potentially oscillatory isometrics may be one thing for physical development
Leon actually does vertical pushing and pulling, horizontal pushing and pulling, squat and lunge ,hip hinge and thrust and carry movements . He also does plyometrics and isometrics . Honestly best strength and conditioning work in my opinion.
Thnx for the reaction man! The reason I specifically said to react to the video where Martin rios reacted to Leon Edwards strength and conditioning routine is because he did a lot more stuff there, like more sensible stuff. Not like this one. He was doing rotation, carry, squats, etc, . But I didn't see that training video anywhere else in RU-vid except in Martin Rios' channel.
But Power is highly skill-dependent, especially in fight sports, You can be crazy strong in the weight room and have incredible ballistics and plyometrics but those won't transfer if you have low skill. I have seen bodybuilders that outlift me kick uncoordinated, slow, and with 0 power. Would like to see how they measured power in these studies, a boxer could improve his squat and it won't transfer into his hook or cross.
That's correct, there's always a technical component but we can improve what's under the hood to potentially enhance outputs during skills. Power measured with linear position transducer I believe but would have to double check
